Yes, I think I honed my touch typing skills on MSN chat as well as Yahoo chat. I went through a stage of having so many chat partners that I would have all these windows open and trying to keep up with multiple chats at the same time!
I was once engaged in ahem... an intimate chat with one partner and another one was nudging me or whatever it was called for a response, I accidentally posted the erotic message to them instead of intended partner!
Fucking hated the people that would insist on posting those blooding gifs and pics though. What the fuck is the purple hippo, what does it mean?? Why are you doing this to me!!
Oh man the good ole days of interneting lol. My msn for some reason was filled with people ppl who lived in the uk, used yahoo for its chat rooms, and even had AIM running as well. That was my start to role playing and helped with my typing skills
I used to nearly always have it open. I almost get nostalgic for its simple layout and long list of people I barely knew and had talked to a couple of times two months ago...
am i the only old foggie around here? I never used MSN outside of hotmail for a bit. My first rping on computer was local bbs numbers... ours here was called viewline...and i had to be on school comps to use it lol i didnt even have internet until my mid 20's lol msn came out in my 30's....
I remember it well and miss it a lot of times! I've been through the gamut of messengers - ICQ, AOL messenger, AIM, MSN, Skype. Now everyone is talking about Discord and I guess I have to add a new one to that list (one that sadly speaks of my age and how long I've been chatting/RPing).
I do as well especially the groups. Of course, I recall the not so great when random people would join just to post porn images and the group becoming unavailable indefinitely.
ICQ is still alive, but they now require a phone number and I found no way to work around it.
I did manage to set up a Telegram account with a "fake" number, but ICQ rejected all the options I tried.
