In the branches of centennial trees a tiny elven village was nestled, quiet and unobtrusive, hardly distinguishable from the rest of the forest really.. Even this didn’t stop the Drow from coming, in fact it only encouraged them, with a village so very small and so isolated none would come to their aid. So, the Drow raiding party slipped among the darkened branches, dark cloaks flowing like shadows as they moved, only the barest glint of moonlight on bared steel revealing them at all.

The party fanned out quietly moving amongst the homes, and slipping inside. Soon enough a muffled scream was heard followed by the sound of razor sharp steel cutting flesh, and then deafening silence, a few similar cries came but all were quieted just as quickly. The leader of the raiding party a tall Drow with short cropped white hair, the coal colored skin, and crimson eyes, common to his race, slipped into one of the larger homes. He wore the same shifting black cloak as the others but underneath he had a finer quality armor, forged of mithril links stained black, with a simple midnight blue tunic, and pants overtop. Besides this he had a single curved saber sheathed at his hip.

He found the house empty surprisingly enough until he came to the last room, peering carefully inside he found a sleeping girl, and a rather young one at that, He smirked at his luck, knowing that a catch like this could be worth quite a bit of gold. His hand snapped down to his belt and withdrew one of the tiny darts coated in sleep poison that most drow kept when out hunting and slipped closer, jabbing the dart into her shoulder when close enough to keep her asleep as he hoisted her over his shoulder and carried her out to put with the other loot for now.

Ariana's dreams had been troubled, which was a rare occurrence in and of itself. The elves as a general rule did not dream, except during special circumstances; usually when under great strain or stress. As such, when a dream did happen, it was taken very seriously. Elves specifically gifted with divination magic were renowned for being able to delve into dreams and search out their true meanings. Ariana however, was not in the least among those great magi. She was still just a child, albeit on the cusp of flowering into womanhood. She knew enough however, to realize that something was gravely wrong as she ran through the hazy shadow-woods of her slumber. Something was stalking her, hunting her. She didn't know what, but she knew it was there. Somewhere. Waiting. Watching. And so she had little choice but to continue running, until finally the muscles in her legs burned with fire and she had no choice but to stop, collapsing in a heap on the forest floor.

It was then that Ariana woke up. Groggy and still tired, despite the fact that it felt like she had slept for hours. She reached to rub the sleep from her eyes, but she found that she couldn't move her arms, or her legs for that matter. Opening her eyes, she tried to look around. She seemed to be in a tent of some sort, certainly not in her bedchamber where she had gone to sleep. Trying to shift her body, which proved to be more difficult than she imagined, thanks in no part to the rope that she could clearly feel binding her wrists and ankles together, she glanced around this new and strange place. There were others like her: all female elves, all trussed up in a fashion similar to her. Most were still asleep, likely plagued with the same troubling dream she had had, but a few were awake, their eyes wide with fear. It was so very quiet, nobody dared to utter a single word or cry of pain or fear. Their captors hadn't made themselves apparent yet, but Ariana had a sinking feeling she knew who they were. She'd heard the stories a million times. Shivering a little, the elf tried to curl up, in order to conserve her body heat, but it was an exercise in futility. Sighing softly, she laid her head back down, her cheek resting in the dirt and she wished she was wearing something a little more than the simple shift she'd put on before retiring to slumber the night before.

The Drow Captain, Anzrel by name, was giving a briefing to his men well away from the tent holding the captives, even now his well trained raiders where darting through the shadows searching for any loot that could possibly have been hidden and not found yet and setting up tinderpiles, dousing them with oil as they did, in preparation of burning everything they couldn't take including the bodies of the elves they had killed rather than enslaved. He took a moment to survey the pile of loot that was still slowly growing, mostly trinkets and fine clothing, but a few weapons and other magical bric-a-brac was mixed it, after it was sold the profits would be portioned up among the team.. although he would look through for any choice items to keep for himself, later on.

The material wealth wasn't his worry though, the truly profitable gain of this raid had been the tent full of female slaves. In the Underdark cities Female Dark elves reined supreme, and males were secondary, which was why of course most male nobles would pay a hefty fee to get a slave to use as they wished, it was better than the alternative in most cases. He scowled and shook his head shaking away that train of thought, he still had the scars from the last time a female of his own race took an 'interest' in him. He moved toward the tent then, intent on inspecting the take, and making sure his personal captive was kept separate, he was normally too poor to afford one and he would be damned to the Demonweb, before he allowed her to slip through his fingers.

Stepping into the tent he silently surveyed the captives some awake and some asleep, crimson eyes searching for the girl he had taken, when he found her his eyes narrowed in amusement she was awake already hmm. He began walking toward her, intent on separating her and staking his claim on her as his personal take from the mission.
