Rick and Bethany Magusyn are a young, fit, good-looking, professional couple in their twenties; he works as a lawyer in a prominent firm; she is a psychotherapist. Both are well-known and well-liked in their community.
However, both Rick and Bethany hide a secret: both are powerful sorcerers. They also hide their past with the Pherrylltt, the governing body for all sorcerers. For a crime they committed to protect innocent non-magical people, they have been sentenced to death. This sentence was commuted to a curse by powerful and prominent sorcerers who lobbied the Pherrylltt on their behalf. Their sentence? For six days every year, for ten years, beginning May 1st, Rick will have to transform Bethany into a bitter, stern, fat, ugly old lady in her sixties; she will have to transform him into a coarse, fat, short, mean, malicious old man.
The details of the curse are as follows:
1. Before the sun sets on the eve of May 1st, they must, as part of their sentence, put on the large, frumpy clothes they will wear as the old couple;
2. They must transform each other with powerful, dark magic;
3. The Pherrylltt has installed powerful reality-altering hexes as part of the curse: their modern, attractive home will be transformed into an old-fashioned, drab, dingy house as they put on the clothes.
4. They will still have to go out while under the curse. They will interact with people whom they know but who, obviously, won't recognise them.
5. Both Rick and Bethany will have full conscious awareness of all that's going on; however, the powerful magic spells will also transform their personalities and character and, while transformed, will not be able to assert their true selves. They will still know who the other is.
The RP could explore their relationship before the transformations, and after if it develops into a long-term rp.
It's April 30th. Does anyone want to step into the shoes of Bethany and endure the curse with me?
