Hello! Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my request thread. So, this thread has gotten far too long for me to even to PRETEND that I care about brevity so...if you want to know if I have something for you without reading the whole thing...just check out the role headings and see if any appeal to you. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy and shoot me a message on any of the communication methods.
Basic Info
Alright, so in my roles, I tend to prefer to RP in the first person. This seems to be a bit of a minority preference here though, so I am open to third person set ups. As the title suggested, I prefer playing Discord as often messages or emails tend to be a low priority as far as how often I'm able to check them. Also, Discord is great for keeping setting details, character profiles, etc. My Discord is at the bottom of this post so you can respond directly there if you so choose. I'm not a stickler on post length, as I know that sometimes there isn't a way to have a lengthy post given the situation in the role. All I ask is that you be creative, toss in some good details, and make it all flow. Finally, my roles tend to have a Dom/sub element (Where I play the Dom) so if that is not something you're into, simply let me know. It is, by no means, a must have for a role.
Finally, I don't often 'pencil in' the characters for a role. Why? Because it limits someone to just falling into the character I've already created. What I prefer is to lay out the world and I'll even toss out some suggestions. However, I want to hear who YOU want to play. Like one of my pairings? Great! Tell me and we'll run with it? Have an idea I didn't even think of? Excellent! Let me hear it. If you like the world and can create who you want to be, the story will come naturally from that.
With all that being said, here are the role ideas I have as well as some settings/Fandoms I would love to play:
Modern Settings
Once Bitten, Twice as Crazy
We were high school sweethearts, though 'sweethearts' probably isn't the right word to describe it. Our relationship was turbulent, to be kind. We seemed to bring out the worst in each other. I was possessive and jealous, confronting you with my anger and suspicions at the drop of the hat. You were much the same, but passive-aggressive about it. The relationship shouldn't have worked...and to many it didn't...except for certain aspects. The sex was AMAZING...and there were periods in between fights when things were blissful.
However, we finally got smart and realized that the relationship was the very definition of toxic. We ended things after graduation, going off to our own colleges and trying our best to move on from things.
11
Years later, after landing my dream job, I'm coming in for my first day. I make the rounds, introducing myself and finally stop by the last office, not bothering to check the nameplate. I knock softly and open the door, poking my head in. "Just wanted to introduce myself...."
(Don't have to use that lead in, just an example of the direction I have in mind. Can be in any career field and have any corporate relationship...you could be the boss, coworker, different department, etc and I have no issues discussing the changes in life. Are we both single? Are one of us married? Both?etc)
Divided Loyalty
You and I are were the cream of our crop, graduating first and second from Quantico. We had our pick of assignments and both gravitated towards Counterintelligence; the allure of being field agents too strong to choose a 'safer' job. Although slightly unconventional, our team leader kept us paired together...and we produced. A drug ring broken up. A terrorist attack on an allied nation foiled. Our skillsets matched well and we managed to infiltrate and disrupt enemy operations. We were the perfect team. On the surface, at least.
One of us, however, is living a complete lie. Loyal to another cause, they've been feeding our enemies intelligence...and now someone's stumbled upon intelligence that should have never been leaked. Suspicions are rising, and the game of cat and mouse begins.
(Open to playing the loyal spy or the double agent. Could be a foreign country's plant, a member of a cartel or terrorist organization, etc. Focuses more on the relationship between agents, the rising suspicion, and testing the other's loyalties...but can devolve to a 'hunt' of the traitor, a hostage situation, etc)
Fantasy/Sci-Fi Setting
A Dying Breed
Humanity weathered the early storm, carving out its niche from the savage Orcs to the south, strong and brutal as they raided and plundered as well as staving off the Elves, a far more civilized, if condescending, race that tended the forests in the North. And while humans could not boast the physical strength of an orc, or the magical prowess of the elves, they were far more numberous and adaptable than either. the human nations, therefore, placed their faith and hope in technology...the willingness to break from tradition and develop new weapons, inventions, and conveniences that have allowed them to steadily become the strongest race in the world.
But while most trust that these technological breakthroughs will be enough to protect humanity, several members of the 'Old Guard' still believe that our true salvation lies with those that can weild the elements... Battlemages plucked from the populace and trained since childhood. And though the number of these 'fae-touched' individuals seems to be dwindling, they may yet play an important role as the elven and orc nations now circle the human, fearful of allowing them to grow stronger.
(In this role, there is plenty of possibilities for characters and that will shift the particulars of the story. For instance, are you and I two young battlemages, fresh from The Academy and facing a populace that treats us as a relic of the past? Or are we from opposite ends of the spectrum...a young scientist and researcher who believes that we can continue to invent new technology that can keep us safe, forced to work with a battlemage, who looks down on this attitude while also fearing to be replaced. Technology level can range from the Industrial Revolution to Modern Day technology).
The Problem With Superpowers
The problem with superpowers is that it drops all these amazing abilities into a normal, everyday human. When scientists unlocked what they believed to be the 'God Formula", the whole world stood in awe. Simply add this compound to your water and watch old and damaged cells be healed, vitality regained, bodies sickness defeated. Like the 'snake oil salesmen' of the old west, they promised that this would change the world. Unfortunately, they were right.
Six months after adding it to the general public's water supply to help stop the spread of disease and improve the overall health of the citizenry, isolated cases started to pop up. An individual in the US who could 'control fire'. A girl in southern Europe who could turn invisible. There was even a man in Africa who could throw cars...one handed like a frisbee. The cases of this happening were etremely rare..less than .001 percent. However, in a world of 7 billion still meant there were 700,000 of these 'Enhanced Humans' out there. While some gained powers that were harmless or only benefited the person in a small way, others gained tremendous abilities, making them nearly immortal and all powerful. Some used their powers to help the governments and the world, however, there were those who sought to achieve their own goals...amass riches, create their own 'Kingdoms', or even worse.
(Ideas for this could be two 'enhanced humans' with weaker/average pwers, One rediculously strong, one more average, a powered individual and anormal human, etc. The setting will vary depending on preference...a corrupt Enhanced's kingdom...a city under the watchful eye of a Protector, etc.)
A World Without Death
Humanity reached its pinnacle in the middle of the milennium. By year 2500, strides in microbiology, physics, computer technology..nearly every field made life a utopia. Diseases were cured, one by one, until they were extinct. New methods of crop production allowed farms that yielded enough food for 10,000 to suddenly produce yields that could feed 10,000,000. Even death was cured. Die in a car accident? No problem. Your consciousness was uploaded to 'the cloud', your body regenereated, and then the two merged together. The process took all of 24 hours. Died of old age? No problem. We'll simply use the DNA to create a younger version of your body and one again merge it with your stored memories. Takes a bit longer...but is a few days really much to worry about when you're alive for eternity?
Without a meaningful way to wage war...nor a need to fight over resources which were now beyond abundant...governments became less about 'foreign policy' and 'economic stimulus,' and most just 'nannies for the infrastructure'.
Now, this utopia was accepted as the status quo for many, however there were a few who knew it would be too good to be true. You can't have a world without death, if for no other reason than there's not enough space. As successive generations continued to build up, families became massive, with children being born after each 'regeneration', growing up and doing the same. So the governments of the world gathered together to find a solution to nip this in the bud. From that, 'The Reapers' were born. A group, trained in the ways of takking a life and completely outside of the law, were formed. Tasked with 'reaping' a certain number of individuals a year, they would have the power to take life and forbid it from being brought back. Respected by some, feared by others, even worshipped by a few...these Reapers were chosen from the population, trained, and then ordained, with only a few guidelines to follow. "Show no bias. Show no favoritism. Do not be swayed by bribes or any other form of payment. Once you have chosen a target, show no mercy."
(Suggested pairings would be Reaper/apprentice, Reaper/victim, Reaper/Reaper. For those who recognize this story...this is almost stolen completely from Neal Shusterman's 'Scythe')
The Gods Within Us
Ever wonder why God's first creation were angels? He did not create managers for the planet, nor conversationalists with whom He could talk... he created warriors. Because He knew that one day, He would have to cast down usurpers to what His position.
While the angels fought among themselves in the revolution in Heaven, on Earth, powerful beings found their chance to elevate themselves to Godhood. For if the masses worship and believe in you as a deity, their fanaticism makes it so. In a world where focused human thought can change the physical world...what power would devotion and worship have?
Throughout the early world, pantheons arose, being embraced as Gods by their followers and ruling over their spheres of influence. They hoped to embed themselves in the bedrock of society so deeply they could never be pried out. However, with The Morningstar's revolution finished, Michael turned his veteran armies on these Gods, waging a new war for the hearts and minds of mankind, without humanity being ever the wiser.
The war cost many deities their life, fading into nothingness or dispatched by the angels themselves. However, other Gods knew that the end was near and made a bargain. No longer would they reign on Earth, but they wanted to exist none the less. So they would be 'reborn' inside the humans they lived with, manifesting a fraction of their power, so long as they agreed never to sway the minds of mankind again.
(Character ideas could be two individuals who are the 'vessels' of Gods reborn, One that is a God and the other that's not.)
Really? Another World?
Stories of being 'whisked off to another world' are the subject of countless Light Novels and anime shows that seem to be springing up faster than weeds. Every other book or show has 'isekai' somewhere within its title thesse days. Of course, anyone who reads it obviously chalks it up to fictional nonsense..a bit of escapism that is fun to read or watch and then return to the drudgery of life. Or, so it was thought.
(BE PREPARED FOR SOME WORLD BUILDING. I have no issues creating an entire world, or we can steal from a novel/show wholesale but I imagine coming up with some elements in collaboration is best. As far as characters go...can be anyone. I play the transported person, or you do, or maybe we're both brought over?)
Taboo Set Ups
My Other Half
Twins are often said to have a strange and inexplainable bond with each other, and that couldn't be more applicable thenw tih YC and mine. We started walking at practically the same time, talking on the same day...we experienced everything together. And while when you're young, parents start to worry if it persists too long. When we were teens, curious about everything, our parents became concerned that our bond would have us exploring things we shouldn't. Determined to keep it from happening, they sent one of us away (Boarding school, military school, etc). But, if our relationship was that easy to tear apart, then they would never have thought it necessary to separate us. (Open to many different set ups. Can be romantic, Dom/sub, etc. We can have reached 18 or still be high school age sneaking around the parents.)
Keeping It In The Family
You hear some evangelical type ranting on the television how society is becoming more and more depraved every year... Turns out they're right. Our parents grew up exposed to a plethora of sexual deviancies and kinks thanks to the wide availability of pornography, roleplaying, and just general kink that the world wide web offers. Its what brought them together and, they decided, what they would pass down to their kids. (Basically, this is just a kind of 'open family' scenario where we can implement any kink or characters. Obviously open to discussion with this)
