The hot desert wind blew ceaselessly past the stone outcropping, worn and rounded by decades of wind blown sand. The outcropping was rather remote, lying in the depths of Wind Countries great desert. Oddly enough considering what it contained it was rather close to Sunagakure, the Village Hidden in the Sand, Concealed on one side under a sturdy tarp and a large quantity of sand was an opening that lead a deep winding path into the very bedrock of the desert. Unlike many caverns the cave was dry and hot, and the stone seemed worked, as if the cave was man made. Although melted was perhaps a better term as if the stone had been eaten away by a powerful acid.
Thus was the entry to the Lair of Akasuna no Sasori, Greatest Puppeteer since Monzaemon himself. He had kept this cavern open for so long but it would be time to leave soon, sealing his multitude of puppets experiments, poisons and research away as he did. He had recently received an invitation to join a group dubbing itself Akatsuki, and it suited him to join for now. Before he took his leave of the desert though he had one more experiment to carry out, one more masterpiece to try and create. he could only hope the trail he had left for the Hunters to follow would bring him usable materials, he simply couldn't abide useless trash that was not even worth the effort to transform into art.
The winding tunnel leading to his lab was rigged with a multitude of traps all for the purpose of disabling his hunters, it wouldn't do to kill them before he could begin his work.. At least... not this what would be if he succeeded his greatest masterpiece, short only of the Third Kazekage Puppet.
