The sun rose high above a traveling pair as they headed down a dirt road. A girl much shorter then the man beside her looked nervous. Today was the day she would meet her new teammates. She hoped that they liked her and if not she supposed it couldn't helped. Her blue eyes wandered up to the man traveling with her. Noticing her stare he looked down at her and smiled his shark toothed grin. "Are you alright KiKi-chan?" He asked patting her on the head. "I'm just nervous Kisame-san..." She replied peering up at him. "It'll be ok." He replied as they neared the meeting spot. Kisame was kind of worried about her. He hoped that they would be kind to her. With her long black hair, big blue eyes, and meek looking expression she could be mistaken for a weakling. KiKi saw the pair up the road and hid behind Kisame. Soon they arrived in front of Sasori and Deidara. KiKi was still hiding behind his back gripping his cloak. "I brought you your new team mate." He said looking at the pair.

Deidara was discussing art with his partner Sasori and as usual they were having issues with each other and that tended to lead to actual fights complete with physical violence directed at themselves. It was quite natural for them to act like this for most Akatsuki partners didn't like each other and only were together to accomplish a mission and that was it.

He was telling Sasori that art was meant to be enjoyed and go out with a bang whereas Sasori was convinced art was something that was long lasting so that people could appreciate it and that Deidara's style was not art at all. They were in the middle of a heated argument when Kisame and Kiki came up to them, the latter hiding behind Kisame's bulk.

When the shark-like member spoke both turned on him with fire in their eyes. "He says my clay bombs are not art at all, that they make no impact on the world. Art is meant to be enjoyed in one big bang, don't you agree, Kisame?" Deidara inquired, his brow twitching as he glared at Kisame waiting to hear the shark-like Akatsuki member agree with him because if he didn't, the blonde haired member would try to kill him. Literally. Sasori shook his head as he looked over at his hyper partner.

"Art is supposed to be long lasting, something that the people can enjoy for many years. Not something that is beautiful one second and gone the next." Sasori said in his low voice as he raised a brow in Deidara's attention.

"Yeah sure whatever. I don't care about what you two are babbling about. I just came to drop off your new teammate. Maybe you can both talk art with her. But then again she is a masterpiece herself." He said as he reached behind himself and grabbed her wrist. "Kisame-san no I'm not ready!" She squealed as he pulled her away from him. He lifted her up and then sat her down in front of the pair. She looked up at the both of them with her big blue eyes and blinked. This was not fair Kisame putting her on the spot like this. She bit her bottom lip nervously as she looked up at the two. Not knowing whether to speak or not she just stood there unmoving. She didn't want to offend either of them so she thought that silence was best. As she stood there she looked them both over. They seemed like they were nice but by the way they were acting towards one another seemed to show their dislike towards each other. She shifted her weight slightly though it was hardly noticeable with her small frame being hidden by her cloak.

Deidara rolled his eyes at Kisame's words while Sasori didn't react at all for he was not nearly as obsessed about shoving art down the throat of people who couldn't even appreciate it. His partner was a bit different though for Deidara had the wrong impression of art even though he did appreciate it the way it was meant to be. Sometimes he wished that he could simply do some sort of genjutsu that would allow Sasori to see the error of his ways. To show him that art was not meant to be long-lasting, it was meant to be beautiful and go out with a bang.

That was the only way to explain art but Sasori just didn't see it that way for some reason and thus Deidara was convinced that his partner was quite disturbed.

"A masterpiece? Really, well I'll be the judge of that."

Deidara said as he turned his attention away from Sasori and to Kiki, letting his eyes flicker over her form as he tried to figure out what was so special about her, had Kisame meant in an art-way or an ability-way?

"Do you think Kisame referred to you as a work of art or regarding your abilities?"

He inquired with a tilt of his head for he was curious as to which one it was for he was an expert on the first but not so good at the second. Sasori grumbled under his breath but it could barely be heard for he was not a very talkative member at all. Deidara did enough talking for the both of them most of the time and Sasori was satisfied with that. He gazed at their new partner which made them into a threeway team and didn't say anything at first but Deidara did, in fact he went right in and asked her a question immediately although not the usual one.

The usual one would be to ask a stranger who had just been introduced to their partnership what their name was but Deidara had never been one to go for names right off the bat, he liked to simply jump into the middle of things or revert the conversation back to the subject of art even though he didn't get it. He really didn't. Art survived over the ages why else would it be called art? Deidara's 'works of art' went out with a bang and were never remembered years from that moment so how could he think of it as art? It could be thought as beautiful he supposed.

But not art.

"I-I don't k-know..." She stuttered softly pulling the cloak's hood towards her face more. The blond in front of her was so cute and that did not help with her shy situation. Biting her lip softly she just stared up at him the rest of her face shielded by her hood. Kisame chuckled and reached over grabbing her hood. "Don't be shy KiKi-chan." He said pulling her hood off of her head revealing her face. The sun hit her face revealing her cute features. She had big blue eyes, sleek black hair, pale creamy skin, and luscious plump lips. She squealed in surprise and struggled to pull her hood back up. "Now do you see what I mean?" Kisame said keeping the hood in his hand.

Sasori let his eyes flicker over her for the brief moment that she was revealed to them and said nothing but filed away the information he'd gathered for a later date should such a time come to pass. Deidara on the other hand raised a brow as he tilted his head to the side, long blonde ponytail sweeping to the side as his lips twisted into what could resemble a scowl. He didn't think Kiki looked as though she could pull off being a part of their team, she seemed too meek looking, not to mention her attitude right now was downright uninteresting, she had no fire and didn't give any input. "Really. You don't have a mind of your own, is that it? Well, you'd better get one if you want to survive with us. Neither of us likes to babysit." Deidara said with a shake of his head and turned away from the girl as he returned his attention to Sasori once more, eying the puppetmaster to see what he was going to do next. There was no letting your guard down when you were with Sasori. You never knew what he might end up doing if you weren't paying close enough attention to him.

Kisame laughed as KiKi tensed up. That blond had just called her stupid basiaclly. Kisame knew what was about to happen next, she was about to show him why she would make a good edition. KiKi flicked her wrists and long chains dropped out of the sleeves of her robe. Focusing the chains began to glow blue and she extended them using her chakra. Flinging both of them at the blond attempting to wrap on around his waist and the other around his neck.

Deidara wasn't stupid either, he would have gotten killed a long time ago if that were true. When Kiki flicked her wrists and the long chains dropped out of the sleeves of her robe, the blond's eyes flickered to the side as though he'd heard something and he side-stepped when the chains were flung. As it was he just barely missed them and his eyes widened in surprise as one of the chains started to wrap around his waist. Not taking any chances Deidara lunged forward and then to the side, avoiding the chain that was trying to ensnare him. Close-range fighting was not his strong suit and he hated that this girl's specialty obviously revolved around such a thing, now if he had her up in the sky or at a distance he would win. Deidara gasped when he felt another chain wrapping itself around his neck and he growled with annoyance. Quickly, he used his chakra to make the mouth in his hand chew some clay and a few spiders crept out as he flung them towards Kiki while she tugged him to the ground by the chain. If she thought he would go down easily she was wrong. The clay spiders skittered towards Kiki with alarming speed and when Deidara was on the ground the spiders were already crawling up Kiki's robes...it seemed as though she shouldn't underestimate Deidara either. Sasori watched with almost no apparent interest, having not moved from the spot. It wasn't his fight and the reckless and cocky blonde could hold his own against their new teammate. He was sure of it. And if he couldn't...well it was time he got a new partner anyway.

KiKi saw the spiders on her robes and squealed. Knowing they were dangerous and nothing else she quickly got rid of the robe. Bringing her chains back to her she stepped back again and noticed the reactions of the other people that were watching them. Kisame seemed amused but the red head that had been with the blond seemed rather bored. Having watched the blond hit the ground a moment ago she knew he'd be down for no more than a second. But a second was all she needed. Focusing again she swiftly moved a short distance away and moved to bind him with the chains flinging both at him. One to wrap his hands the other to wrap around his feet. She didn't wish to hurt him, just make him understand that she wasn't one to messed with.

Once the chain around his neck had disappeared, Deidara had indeed instantly gotten to his feet and was in the process of having his hand spit out another chunk of clay spiders and he flung them at Kiki for the second time. The blond dodged the chains coming towards the upper part of his body and attempted to run off to put more distance between them so that he might have the advantage, since his techniques were better from afar. However, Kiki's chains followed and managed to trip him so that he fell flat on his face. "Bitch!" He exclaimed as he bit the dirt of the ground and wondered how long it would take before his clay spiders would swarm up her body. Surely they had attached themselves to her, right? Deidara clapped his hands together and spoke the word that detonated his creations. Wherever the spiders were they would explode on impact, hopefully on Kiki's body he thought maliciously. He didn't like being shown up like this, especially in front of Sasori.

The spiders had only made it to in front of her before they detonated. She was surprised by the explosions so she jumped back and drug Deidara along with her. Kisame was laughing so hard by now he was almost in tears. Kiki shook off her surprise and quickly moved over to Deidara. Stopping by his side she extracted her chains and looked down at him. "I was just showing you that I wasn't helpless. I wasn't trying to kill you." She said softly offering her hand to him so that she could help him up.

Sasori was rather amused by this display but it couldn't be seen since his face was devoid of any emotion so instead it looked as though he were bored when he really wasn't at all. He liked making others feel uncomfortable because they couldn't read him. Deidara let out a yell as he was dragged back through the smoke of his clay bombs and started to cough, putting a hand across his mouth so the smoke didn't get into his lungs too much. Then Kiki extracted her chains and looked down at him as Deidara stood up quickly to dust off his robes and tried to regain his lost composure. "Neither was I." The blond told her in response to her words about how she hadn't been trying to kill him and he glanced over at Kisame who was laughing his ass off and Deidara's eyes narrowed with annoyance. "You ever find him rather annoying, Kiki was it?" Deidara asked as he glared at Kisame, finding another source for his anger.

"Yes it was...and yes he can be quite annoying sometimes." She said softly as she watched Kisame just shake his head. "Alright Kiki-chan I'm leaving you on your own. I gotta get back to Itachi." Kisame said still chuckling as he turned and walked away from them back down the path he had taken to get here. She sighed as he left. Turning to Deidara she smiled softly. "Sorry for the fight." She said apologizing for her out of line behavior.

The blonde glanced down at the smaller figure of the new female addition to their ranks and shrugged, acting as though it were no big deal. "I wouldn't call that a fight...but it had the potential to become one if it had continued." Deidara said with a twitch of his lips, that was as close as he was going to come to being civil about what had just happened between them. It wasn't that he disliked her, he just wasn't sure of her abilities or if she could keep up with them since he and Sasori had quite formidable skills and didn't really welcome new additions. Deidara stepped closer all of a sudden and ran a hand through Kiki's sleek black hair, fingers running over her pale creamy skin and across her luscious plump lips as he tipped her chin up. "You should show your face more. No reason to hide being cute." He remarked and stepped away to make his way over to the puppetmaster who had already started to leave. Typical, Sasori hated waiting. Deidara headed after him, not waiting to see if Kiki would follow or not but this time keeping a cautious ear and eye open for her chains should she try to attack once more...

She shied back a little as Deidara stepped closer. As he ran his fingers through her hair and traced her lips she felt her face grow hot. As he tilted her head up she looked at the cute blond with her shy eyes. Her bottom lip trembled as he looked over her face. Hearing his words she bit her bottom lip. As he turned and walked away she shook of her dazed state. Hurrying over she picked up her cloak and shook it out. Putting it back on she hurried off to catch up with them. She caught up sure enough and took her place walking beside Deidara. She didn't speak though. She was still getting over his comment.

Sasori didn't have time to deal with immature fights like the one Deidara had engaged in with Kiki. If Pein deemed it fit to give them another member to their group that is what they would have and wasting time fighting it was not high on his list. Regardless of their new addition they had a mission to complete, to find, track down and capture all the jinchuuriki and that was what he was focusing on for the moment. Now Pein had stated that although each Akatsuki member would be given a particular jinchuuriki to look out for, if they managed to run into one that wasn't theirs, they were still ordered to grab it anyway. So he was on the lookout. For any large amounts of chakra being released.

Deidara was finally getting back into the swing of things, having already tested Kiki and found that she was acceptable. That reminded him of something and he turned his head to look at Kiki who was walking by his side, almost as though she were his shadow and that made his lips twitch in amusement. "By the way, what do you consider art?" He inquired, waiting to see what she thought. How could he not have asked her?

"Art?" She questioned. "Well I do love Fireworks. I find the pure burst of energy, the beautiful colored lights, and then the dissipation all very artistic. Things like that are so amazing. But I also have a like for things such as paintings. All the love and care artists but in to them are so beautiful." She replied smiling softly.

The blond smirked when Kiki told him she liked fireworks since they had a big bang to them and showed their beauty in one split second. But his smile faltered when she also said paintings were beautiful as well and his lips twitched. "Yes, well. Fireworks are the real art. Paintings are pale imitations of art but not the real thing." Deidara said and put his arm around her to steer Kiki away from Sasori. He wouldn't let her get corrupted by his partner. Not when she was on the right track.

She nodded at his explanation and let her eyes wander to the ground. But when she felt his arm wrap around her shoulders she immediately looked up at him. Her blush resurfaced and it shown brightly on her cheeks. Noticing him pulling her to him and away from Sasori she couldn't help but smile slightly.

They continued on their way until coming upon their destination. Sasori stopped as he looked out over the mountaintop and down into the village below. "Do not lose sight of our objective." He murmured and then jumped down, landing easily on the ground below. Deidara rolled his eyes as he followed after his partner and looked around at their surroundings. It was late afternoon, the beginnings of darkness starting to creep in but there was still a good deal of light. "You ready for some action, Ki?" He inquired, giving her a nickname.

She gave a slight nod to his question as she followed him. More than ready to show them what she was made of, she was eager. Though she did give a wonder as to where they were going. But she didn't bother to ask. She wanted to avoid looking stupid in front of the pair.

Well if Kiki was their new partner and Kisame had seen fit to bring her to them, she should know what the mission was. It would be foolish to bring her to them without knowing. Sasori was not the type to babysit and explain matters, he hated waiting and explaining was even more of a pain to him, either you knew what you were doing or you didn't. He headed into the village, attempting to track down the beast. Deidara was more patient than Sasori but he wasn't that patient either and he didn't like to babysit but did on occasions. He glanced over at Kiki as he landed on the surface below and saw she was following them which was a good thing. Then he returned his attention to Sasori as the puppetmaster continued onward. It wouldn't take long before they were near if their senses were sharp and the beast wasn't hiding its chakra flow.
