A sound soul... dwells in a sound mind... and a sound body... that was Maka Albarn always said. And Diego believed she was right to an extent. You're all right if you mind and body are okay and well-maintaied, but you also need to be well with the people around. No person is an island. Perhaps that was the case with the brand-new ultimate case going on right now. That of the release of Asura. The First Kishin. His release jeopardized the stability of the world and ergo, the DWMA needs to stop him. However, there was plenty of good news though. After all, the witch Medusa was seemingly defeated (though they were still searching for her) while Maka, the kind girl that she was, went to save Crona from their torment at the hands of Medusa.
Granted, things completely nuts as everything thanks to happen when Diego gets involved. Diego was a weapon though one without a partner. In his case a shield. He was not wholly capable of fighting on his own, but could do well enough. However, the big case was when he awoke... something... in him. When he went to defend Maka from the Demon Sword as he screamed. Diego's soul flared up and besides his form icnreaing in heart briefly, it's as if he reverbated the sound.
The result was Ragnarok snapping.
While Ragnarok himself still seemed to exist, he could no longer become a blade, instead now an entity of the Black Blood within Crona. As such, Crona needed a new weapon... and that what was Diego was looking to as he looked toward the girl in question.
Diego was one of the older students and so served as an elder for the others to look up to, but he still did his work and so on. He only knew Maka and the others because he was the one who had to keep an eye on Blair, a very powerful and magical cat or cat-monster... who was also a very attractive female that Diego was currently crushing on hard.
