James was on the verge of breaking a sweat, he had been running along the coast line, continuously for about 10 minutes. Lowering his head, inhaling rather loudly. His life had become quite gloomy since his only friend Matt, had gone on a holiday, but he was unsure when he would return. The loneliness was sinking in deeper with each moment, raising his head up he gazed on at the sea, living in a tropical island had its perks, the beauty it held although when there was no one to really to share it with, it seemed to be going to waste. With a rather loud sigh, he headed back towards his mansion, the sun was getting ready to rise and he did not wish to die just yet.

A girl no more then 16 sat on a stone bench on the small path. She seemed a bit upset but other then that she was alright. She had long blond hair that reached her bum, her eyes a ice blue. Lovely indeed. Her skin a like color, pale. Her mother had been half albino leaving her the way she was now. She was living alone here, her father sending money now and again to pay for her bills, but other then that no contact. Faye sighed again leaning back on the bench looking up at the moon. She had been out all night and all she wore was a simple jean skirt, black stockings, nice shoes and a button up blouse.

As he came closer towards his mansion along the small path towards the house, he noticed a beautiful young girl. This was the first time James had bothered to take a second look at a girl, especially a human girl. He stopped in front of the bench, unsure of how to approach her yet in his mind he was thinking of how he could take advantage of her. "Hi there, do you have any place to go?" He asked with, a bright smile trying not to pass himself of as a stalker or a pervert. He noted that the way she was dressed brought out her beauty even more. "Oh sorry, my name is James, and yours would be?" He asked once more, his eyes slowly roaming over her young figure.

Faye seemed rather startled when he suddenly approached her, she moved back against the bench a moment then relaxed nodding a bit. "I have a place to be but... not like anyone is waiting for me there..." She admited couldly, then heard his question and nodded. "my name is Faye... and um... what are you doing out at such an hour... then again I guess you could ask me the same question..." She rubbed the back of her head and smiled gently looking at him again. She noticed he was rather well... good looking but he seemed to be dangerous as well... she did not care much at the moment though./

"Faye, that name is like a breath of fresh air, well to be honest I am quite lonely myself, would you like to accompany me to the mansion and do not worry you can leave whenever you want." James said, with a soft sigh, this time his expression was genuine. "Well, I was just having a walk down by the coastside, it is very peaceful and beautiful there, yet with no one to share it, it doesn't seem to bring me any joy. He leaned his hand out towards her, any person who saw James would not think much of him, average height, average build but his skin was so pale and glowing underneath the night sky. His dark grey eyes were also quite different to his dark black hair. "Do you trust me?" He asked with a toothy smile.

Faye ran her fingers through her hair and began to play with small strand of it slowly as she looked at him. She noticed his toothy white grin and his pale features... but she did not mind. She did not care, she did not trust him but... she really did not care. Slowly she rose to her feet and looked him over once more, then shook her head. "nah... I do not trust you but...whats the worse you can do... kill me? Personally would could do that and I would not care." She began walking in the direction he had been walking in earlier. "Where do you live?" She wondered looking over at him.

James noticed that even though she had rejected his offer, she still seemed not to really have a care in the world. When he asked her where he lived, he pointed up at the mansion on the edge close to the cliff. "I do not intend to kill you, even though you might not care." He said, softly. He wondered why humans were so willing to throw away their lives. For him, he did not really have much to worry about, but humans seemed to be born, grow old and die so quickly that he some times pitied them. "Well, the offer to show you my house still stands, if your keen?" He said, with that his hand ran over to cover hers, with out much effort he pulled her up off the bench. "On such a beautiful night, you should not waste your time just lazing about, so I insist you come with me." He whispered, careful to make sure no one was watching, he was not one to take rejection lightly at all and if it were to come to it, he would resort to even other means to get what he wanted.

Faye took a step back as he grasped her hand and pulled her up from the bench a small blush on her cheeks. His skin was a little cold, then again she liked that. She did not like heat to much. She wondered why his skin was cold if he was on such a warm tropical island. It was not to cold. "um... sure why not." She started walking in the direction he had pointed. After all she did not mind going with him. Also she had her reasons for not caring about life too much... no one cared about her so was there any real point in living? She sighed to herself as she walked looking over she shoulder she looked at him. "Well you coming? I do not know where you live you know... may have pointed but I do not know my way around."

James was a bit startled when she started to blush, so maybe this human still had some life in her after all. He quickly sauntered over towards her then began guiding her over towards his mansion, taking the same pavement. This was the first time he had ever brought over a human into his mansion since normally he would have his meals outside and be done with it. Once again as she sighed, he noticed the little bit of life in her he saw before had now faded. James was getting quite intrigued with the behaviour of this girl and once more begin talking. "Well, life can't be all bad, we are both still living, I mean that's something we should be thank ful for right?" He asked, turning to face her.

"Is life really something to be... grateful for... I mean... life just causes pain and suffering...." She sighed. "At least when you die your stuck in a hole for ever and you do not seem to have a care in the world." She sighed contently, she was looking right at him so their gaze had not met when he looked back at her. In truth she was not a very happy person but did not want to be dead either.... though she did not love her life to much and did not want to live alone in some strange place. She was blushing again from what she had said... it sounded just plain...well... bad. "No offence though...." Faye muttered just incase he was a big fan of life.

"Well, you do have a good point." James spoke carefully, his hand on his chin, thinking about what she had just said. "Although I find that as miserable as a lot of people's lives have been when each person is on the verge of death they always grasp as hard on to what ever like they can, which makes your point sound hypocritical." He had stopped sauntering to gaze over at her once more, even immortals found living through centuries lonely though none of them really wanted to die either, he thought to himself. Sure there were some cases of self sacrifice but there always was a reason for some one committing suicide and it was never because they were lonely or that their lives were too hard. He found every reason for suicide to be pathetic and anyone whom even remotely considered it to be weak. "Faye perhaps you just need to find a companion to make your life worthwhile?" He suggested, the thought was strange coming from James since he found love to be the very thing which made every being human and immortal alike fall weak.

She shrugged a bit. She had never really cared about life, not since a few years ago. She stood and walked downt he path a small blush on her face as he spoke of a companoin. "Maybe you are right? But might I ask who would be a companion that would help me make my life worth living?" She asked slowly. Sure Faye did not WANT to die but she could care less if she did or did not, what happened happened, if she died, she died. That was how things went and there was nothing she could do to change the harsh reality. Never had she fallen in love or been extremly close to a person, so she did not know how such things felt. Thus she never yerned for such,

“Hmm, that's an interesting way to go about it, how can you miss something which you never have felt,” He thought to himself.”Although aren't you curious to know how love would be like, even a little bit?” He asked, not bothering to let her answer the question, as they had slowly managed to reached the entrance of his mansion, two doors separated them from entry. “Well, we are here, I haven't had too many guests, so if you don't mind could you refrain yourself from maybe criticizing this place too much.” He said, turning to face away from her, placing his hands on the wooden surface of the door, he lightly pushed it open. Extending a hand out, with a small bow he added. “Ladies first.”

She did not know how to answer it even if she had been given the chance to do so. She sighed a little before looking around as she walked. This place was absolutely huge! She shrugged and nodded to him. "I have no reason to criticizing it.." She smiled slightly. SHe nodded again to herself, this place was bigger then any place she had ever been before. Faye smiled when he said ladies first. She slowly took a step forward. he realized this had never been a good idea. A clear ringing of 'bad idea' rang in her ears but she had no self preservation needs so she did not listen to her consious and did what she knew was wrong. She smiled and went into the house anyway and looked around.

James sauntered over towards the next room clearly not interested in the sparkling chandlier among the many other priceless items near the doorway. He once had a hobby of collecting rare artifacts from different countries which he grew out of after 20 years, out of boredom rather then anything else. He found it rather tiring to really put an effort into anything since unlike most people he had a commodity in abundance which many did not, time. He did not learn how to play a guitar or play any instrument for the matter, something which he found no need for since from experience with every 10 to 20 years instruments seem to change, along with the introduction of new genres of music.

Upon descending into a rather small room filled with a cupboard, a small closet, a fridge as well as a bed. He stopped beside the bed, taking a seat.

"There are about 5 rooms in this building, none of which I use, this is my room anothing thing I don't use much unless I have guests." He said, patting next to him. "Take a seat, or if not you can just stand."

Unlike the other rooms, it was out of place in the house, with the paint on the walls fading and no real artwork or other priceless item could be found.

"So tell me a bit more about yourself, and also would you like a drink, I don't know about you, but I am quite thirsty after such a long walk."

Faye followed him to his room, her eyes scanning the surroundings. This house was very weird and very... extravagant and he did not seem to care much about it all. She put her finger to her lips as she walked arund, eyeing everything she could. Then she stopped when he did. He did not use his own room much? "Why do you not use your room much? Don't you sleep here everynight?" She murmered.

Faye debated for a moment before setting down her guitar case before sitting down next to him on the bed. She played with a strand of her hair lightly.

"Hm? Drink? No thank you." She smiled again before playing with a peice of her hair again. "well there is not much to know about me..."

“Well aren't you the curious, even though I invited you to my house, your questioning as if your some one who's known me for quite a while. It won't hurt I suppose to tell you the reason although you might find it quite shocking. The truth is I am sort of a traveller I normally don't really stay in one place for too long, although recently I moved back in to this old house, since a dear friend of mine asked me to wait for him.”

Taking a deep breath as he was done, James gazed over at her once more, he had told her partly the truth just excluding the part about both of them not being humans. It would be too much for her to handle, he convinced himself. Once she declined a drink, he decided not to get one either. It wasn't like he was thirsty anyways.

She listened to him for a few moments before speaking. "Hm? A travler...intresting." She said softly looking up at the ceiling. After a few moments the girl spoke. "Well this is my theory so I am not that curious. Either one your a kidnapper and plan to keep me for some reason, two you are a rappist, three your just a freak who invites teenagers to your hourse, four you plan to suduce a minor...hm... a murderer...along with a few other things." Faye found herself shrugging.

"Well your a travler so where have you travled in the past?" She asked shoving the feeling of something bad way down into her stomach. She did not bother to worry about such small things. It happened it happened, though she doubted she would feel that when it happened.

"You don't really think well of me, do you?" He asked with a raised brow and a small grin playing on his lips. "Although if I were one of those things then it would be really bad for you, yet you don't seem to be worried at all? So you weren't lying when you said you didn't value your life, now were you?" His questions, did not hold much of an answer, so instead of giving her an opportunity to answer them, he spoke as sincerely as he could.

"Unfortunately I am not one of those things, although I guess depending on how you take it. I am what you humans would call a blood drinker or more commonly a vampire, that is the real reason why I don't really like travelling much. As for when I did travel, I had to at night and have been to just about every part of the world." He tiptoed towards her, taking her hand in his. "So tell me about your past, it's been so long since I had a human for company normally I just bring them here to feed before I discard them."

"Well I did add the part that you might just be a weirdo who invites teenagers to his house for the hell of it." She shrugged then continued. "And no not really." She smiled when he said that she really did not value her life much, after all it was indeed true enough. Not like she had any reason to life. He waited for him to continue. "Um...well that was not part of my...er...options... a vampire? I guess that explains the um..house?" She muttered looking around a moment. She did not move as he came over to take her hand. She did not seem to afraid of him.

"So what am I here for if not to be disposed of?" She asked calmly. "So I am just some normal company?" She asked tilting her head, seeming to want to stay off the subject of her past, it was not exactly something she enjoyed to think or talk about.

"Well normally if company was as delightful as yourself I would leave that house upto you but your different you don't value life at all." He said, still not releasing grip of her, his eyes pondering over to a picture of him and a beautiful female figure. "You know there was a time when I too despised my life but for the sake of a woman I decided to live on even though I knew I could never be with her."

For a moment his face was expressionless, before his gaze once more returned back to meet her stare. "I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up on life." He did not know why he was so keen to help her restore confidence, he guessed he saw a bit of himsel in her.

She nodded as he spoke to her, telling him about what he normally did and how he once despised his own life. She sighed softly and nodded to what he said. "I am living day by day. I live and wait for some reason to continue living. If I find a reason wonderful...if I don't then...or if I get killed along the way I am not going to act up." She shook her head a moment.

"I guess I do live for one thing...my hope my older brother is alive somewhere." She shrugged before looking down and playing with the edge of her shirt with her free hand.

He listened with interest on to her life story, it was quite short, she seemed intent not to disclose too much to him, which made sense since he was not exactly some one whom she could call a friend or someone you could call a human. "What happened to this older brother?" He asked, tilting his head with a raised brow, reaching his arm over he brushed her hand away. "It's rude to play with your shirt like that." He said, it was not an action he was used it was almost as if instinct had taken over.

"Would you mind telling me more about this brother, it sounds like an interesting tale?" He asked once more, sauntering over to the kitchen. He made himself a drink of tea and returned carrying it in hand. Taking a sip of the sweet tasting liquid, he took a seat next to her.

She did not respond but did as he told her and stopped playing with her shirt. When he returned she was sitting, her back against the wall still on the bed, her eyes closed as she thought of her older brother. She did not explain it to him. She was obviously not willing to talk about it. She did not want to but felt that she should indeed tell him about her older brother. She was debating it.

"I was four when I last seen him." She started her knees pulled up to her chest, and her face in her knees. "He was attacked in the middle of the night when he was taking me for a walk since I could not sleep. Someone came after him...I was screaming and crying unable to see...when I finally came to look up I was knocked out...when I woke up I was in the hospital and he was gone..." That was not her whole past, just the part she did nopt want to say aloud. Her brother did it to protect her and that was the last she seen him. She felt helpless.

For a moment when she had closed her eyes he was wondering whether she had wanted for him to do something, then he heard her soft voice tell a sorrowful tale of how she had lost her brother. He felt truly sad for her, after all he couldn't remotely remember his past, so he had no clue to what a family was supposed to be like, but from what she told him, it sounded nice to have some one there for you always. With that pleasant thought drifting through his mind, he slowly closed his eyes,

It was like a thousand different images was going through his mind at once an image of a little girl, two people a male and female whom seemed very much to be in love, finally the image he dreaded of a hungry vampire. He could not help but notice a small resemblance with the small girl and the girl sitting on his bed, his eyes shot open to gaze at her face quite intent on getting to the bottom of this matter, did this mean he could actually be her brother, without giving more then a thought, he asked. "About how long ago did you lose your brother?"
