Adam gave a yawn, stretching his long arms and legs to their limits. He hated waking up. He knew it was inevitable, but that didn't make him like it any more. At least he didn't have to go to school or work and that was a big plus. It meant, too, that he got to spend the day with his twin. They were close, of course, but Adam always felt a little lost when the other wasn't around. He didn't mean to be clingy, but that's likely how it came across. It was that thought this morning that made him promise himself that he wouldn't go jumping on the other male's bed to wake him up right away.
Instead, he got up and headed straight for the shower. He wasn't sure how other people showered at night, or even in the middle of the day. Adam could never fully wake up and function if he didn't shower in the mornings. And he felt dirty. It was not pleasant to go through an entire day half awake and feeling like if you lifted your arms, the people nearest to you would pass out.
He scrubbed himself clean, taking his time and enjoying the warm pulsing massage from the shower head as it beat down on his chest and shoulders and face. This was the only good part about waking up, he decided to himself. Well, that and seeing his brother.
Nearly forty minutes later, Adam stepped out of the steam-filled bathroom, towel tucked low on his hips, and headed for his room to get dressed for the day.
