Sarah smiled nervously as she sat there in the passenger seat of a car she never thought she would be, sitting beside a woman she never thought would hang out with her, going to a place she had never heard of. The night was sure to be interesting, but hopefully fun as well. The woman beside her, Jasmine, had surprised her today with an offer to go out for some drinks to celebrate Sarah's 21st birthday. The offer was surprising in and of itself, because she hadn't expected anyone, much less Jasmine to even know it was her birthday tonight! She was far away from the small country town she called home, and had had some trouble making friends here at college, but hopefully tonight was a sign that it would all change! If Jasmine could be nice to her, then anyone could! Jasmine had been the biggest bully since Sarah had gotten here, always teasing her accent, telling everyone that she looked like a freak, which is why she always hid underneath her large clothes, which she did admittedly always wear. Even tonight, going out to celebrate her birthday, she wore a large blood red hoody that was easily three sizes to large for her, with black pants that she had to wear a belt with just to keep them from dropping straight down. Her red painted finger nails curled into the hoodie's cuffs before she reached up, brushing some her naturally blue hair out of her face, showing her mismatched eyes, one red, and one blue, so that she could see the name of the club they were at once Jasmine parked. Even from the car she could hear the thumping bass of the club's music, causing her to press her feline ears flat against her head to try and muffle the sound a bit as she stepped out into the brisk night air outside the club. There was a line already outside the club, but Jasmine seemed to know someone, as the bouncer simply let her and Sarah in, allowing Sarah to catch a glimpse of the club's name 'Callistos'.

She flinched as soon as the door opened, the music's volume now more intense then ever, and she pressed her ears flatter to her head, whimpering softly before looking over as Jasmine was smiling at her and tugging on her hoody, leading her to the bar. 'My treat birthday girl, it should help with the loudness' and before she knew it, there was a blue drink in Sarah's hand. She downed it quickly, as she felt herself already being overwhelmed by the sheer number of people that were in the club. If she would have paid attention, she would notice a severe lack of men, but for now her focus was only on finishing the drink as quickly as she could so that she could lessen the sensitivity of her hearing. Even drinking was a bit of a headache here though, there were so many people bumping and brushing against her to get to the bar, or running over to their friends, and worse was when she somehow found herself on the dance floor by accident, the rainbow light show the only help she had with peering into the darkness of the club. She hurried out of the dancing crowd, hoping to find Jasmine. Soon she was at the woman's side once more, and Jasmine had another drink in Sarah's hands, and then another. Four drinks in, and she finally felt it starting to work, her face tingling, and she was able to relax as she settled into a booth with the woman, smiling and laughing with the woman. What was she laughing at? She wasn't really sure, but it was funny whatever it.

Soon Sarah had her first, and most important, lesson when it came to drinking. Go slow, let the first drink hit before going for another. Instead, as it was her first time, she had downed four in less then a half hour, and found her entire body tingling, she felt so light and floaty! She was having fun! She smiled over at Jasmine, wondering why she had never this side of the woman before! She really was so nice and sweet! However she soon excused herself to use the restroom. She returned about five minutes later, and settled into the booth that she and Jasmine had been sitting in. Jasmine wasn't there, but she assumed the woman was off getting another drink or something. At least until she realized that not only was Jasmine gone, but so was Sarah's purse, with her phone and wallet inside of it. Confused, she began looking around, wondering if she had misplaced it before finding a white enveloped with her name on it. As confused as ever, she opened it up, wondering if perhaps it might be a birthday card or something. Indeed it was! She smiled, and eased the card out, only to have her brows furrow and her ears press flat to her head as she read the note. 'Happy Birthday Sarah! Hope you had fun! Unfortunately I wasn't, since you're boring. So I took your purse, and I'm going to go and have some real fun on my own. Look on the bright side, I left you with other freaks, so you should fit right in!'. The shock and confusion was obvious on Sarah's face as she sat there, holding the card as tears began to well up into her eyes, the reality of her situation slowly starting to settle in. She had no phone to call for an uber, or for someone to pick her up, no money for a cab, she didn't know how to get back to the campus from here, and she was drunk. She continued to just sit there, fighting back tears and losing horribly as they began to trickle down her cheeks while she struggled to figure out what to do now, and how she could have let herself fall for this! She was stupid! What did she even mean by freaks like her though? Everyone here seemed fairly normal, sure there were a couple non-human's like her but, not that many! She whimpered, dropping the card and wrapping her arms around herself, looking every bit of a pitiable little kitten, all alone in the club, and the world it felt like.
