Hello, all! The (user) name's gecko, and I'll be your host for this evening.

To get right into the thick of things, I have a few very specific rules I like to abide by.

1. If you're looking for a purely smut-driven role play, you've come to the wrong place. While I enjoy a good amount of sex just as much as anyone, writing about it constantly can get old real quick. I like creating characters and story, and when smut is the main focus, it takes away both the build up and enjoyment of either of those things. Plus, it's always so much more satisfying when we've built up chemistry overtime, so please, if you're considering roleplaying with me, do not introduce your character as dtf 24/7. It takes away a lot of the tension.

2. With the chance of sounding like a purist: do not come to me with your fave yaoi pairing wherein you play the uke and I the seme. In fact, not to be controversial on main, but if your main motivation to play a gay character has anything to do with yaoi, please don't. I have a very strong and specific vitriol for the genre, and although I won't get into it here, I'd really rather not have to turn you down because of it.

3. THAT SAID you do not have to be queer yourself to "pass" my inspection (lmao). the point of rp is to create a character separate from yourself, so if you're a straight woman wanting to play a gay man, I won't say no! Just, please, no yaoi.

4. Speaking of major turn-offs, writing smut between teenagers is a biiiiiiig one. 15, 16, I don't particularly care- nothing gets me more skeeved out than the thought. So please, if you'd like to do a nsfw rp with me, do not make your character under the age of 18.

5. Not about furries either. Sorry :(

6. Finally, communicate! If I'm boring you, or the story just isn't meshing with you, or you have an issue in general, please come to me about it! There'll be no hard feelings, I swear. If we can't come to an agreement, I have no issue simply discontinuing the story. After all, we're both supposed to be having fun. Writing is a collaborative effort, and communication helps in this immensely.

So, now that's out of the way, what are some things I will do? Well, glad you asked!

1) Horror. I love horror, so fucking much, it's kind of terrifying. I like disturbing imagery, subtle atmosphere, ghosts, goblins, psychological and slasher. It. Is. My. Shit.

2) Mystery! Hand-in-hand with #1 up there, mystery is a close second favorite of mine. Small towns, murders, robberies and the like are super fun to write about, so if you're into that shit.... (wink wink)

3) Fantasy, of course. Good old D&D-esque settings, or those that borrow more heavily from eastern myths and legends, or perhaps even both at the same time- I live for that stuff.

4) Slice of life, college settings, stuff like that.

5) Supernatural (no, not the TV show)

Things I won't do:

1) Incest, pedophilia, and rape are some major turn offs. Please don't come to me with any of them.

2) Again, furry stuff. No offense furries, you guys are great.

3) Stalker/victim or any other iteration of it. I don't mind having a stalker plot, but when they end up together it always gives me major hives. I like happy endings- sue me.

4) Dom/Sub stuff. It's just boring to me.

I prefer to rp in threads or, if need be, pm's. Discord and other IMing sites simply don't jive with me, my friend. I lean toward MxM, but enjoy MxNB and, when done juuust right, MxF.

plot ideas:

the death of me - fantasy, mystery, romance(???)
In a fantasy-based setting, character A somehow stumbles into the world of spirits, where character B, a resident of the place, stumbles upon them and takes pity. As character B guides A toward getting back to the world of the living, it becomes obvious that A is not here by pure coincidence- something is going on behind the scenes.

cool motive, still murder - mystery, supernatural, romance, conspiracy
Character A is an investigative journalist who happens to be passing through a small, strange town just on the side of the Nevada desert when their car breaks down. Stuck in a place that just keeps getting weirder, they soon find themselves befriending the local outcast, character B. It's unfortunate, then, that on the day character A is set to leave town, character B turns up dead. Worse, A now finds themselves in the unique position of being able to see their ghost- who keeps telling them they were murdered, although they don't know how. Well, shit.

wait, are you seeing a pattern here? - horror, mystery, romance (?)
People are disappearing in certain areas of the city, so of course it's up to two dumb college students to find out what's happening. Soon, however, they find themselves in a bit of a predicament, as the people around them begin to act strangely....
