Kind of a rando question that's been on my head for awhile.

What are some tropes you're often tired of?
And conversely, what are some tropes you DO like?

Note: This isnt meant to be mean or callout anyone in particular. Just some venting and having a Goof

for example, I kinda hate how any sort of overweight man in more porn/hentai scenarios (especially in straight stuff) are often these gross fat globules of horribleness. ie, the fat bastard that comes in and ruins the Doujin (YOU KNOW THE ONE!)
Like I remember bringing up the possibility of me playing a dude on the heavier side (we can't all be fashion models), and immediately the person was all giddy about me playing the 'gross fat man who degrades her cute princess' as if that's all chubby dudes do. WE CAN HAVE CUTE CHUBSTERS MAN!

As for Tropes I DO like,
i'll admit I do like alot of shounen anime style tropes. I like stories about heroes and their quest to get stronger and help others. Also I'm a sucker for calling out attack names.
And when it comes to Super Hero RPs, I tend to stick in more than a few nods at Tokusatsu style heroes
Also sizeplay. Gimme a short dude/gal x tall dude/gal and i'm in heaven

Oh sorry, i meant for RPs. My mistake

*edit*
On second thought, it can be Either Or

I think the absolute worst trope for me is an RP in which everything is perfect, characters are entirely happy go lucky, and it's always a happy ending. Not only does it provide no character growth or development, but I often find that there is no emotional depth to the story either. It just kind of plods on with no real direction; imperfection and struggle = growth.

Another one is character death. I find that a lot of people are unwilling to write a main character death, sometimes even a minor character death, because it seems too final. It's entirely suitable to have characters die along the way, or even as an ending to a story, and the best emotional writing comes from that.

I also completely agree with what you said above about chubby guy characters "ruining the story", but I also find that it's not just the guys that get no love; it's women as well. I think chubby girl characters are totally adorable, and I also think chubby bears/dad bod characters are majorly understated.

Tropes I enjoy simply because I get the best emotion from it:

Dom/Sub
Strong female characters
Struggle and emotional damage
Clan/Pack/Coven or general groups working together toward a common goal

I don't think I ever get sick of some, I love to take something boring and make it good.

The tropes I enjoy recently are :
Step daughter/Daughters best friend or other taboo young female walking in on Dad
Taken advantage of by psychologist, teacher, doctor, coach who they are supposed to trust
Young female stalking older married man wanting him for herself
Dom (my character) suppressing it (married/relationship) and another naive female wants him to teach her
Pawn shop taking advantage of someone who need money bad, desperate
step sister seducing step brother
college freshman/professor
high school senior (18) falling in love obsessionally with teacher, coach (swim, cheer, basketball, soccer, volleyball)
step daughter seducing step dad while he tries to wake her up
two people in different age groups finding passionate, kinky love with each other
kidnapped super heroine or superhero's girlfriend/wife, Stockholm syndrome and falls for villain
criminal breaks into room of a celebrity and starts to blackmail her
I have more but I feel like this list is way too long....

I think the tropes that I dislike are too many folks fantasies/fetishes/etc. And it’s less me doing them as it is me Seeing them requested so much.

I guess the one that gets on my nerves beyond just @this kink setup” is anthro or monster make x human female. Because I don’t want a human fem, and it seems that more are into playing against than as.

In media, I am tired of The Bully, the struggle for acceptance, the Big Lie, the Assassin who has to go against his prsvilus boss because girl, thecgrimdark bitter Hillel was world, the post apocalyptic of dog eat dog.

I love /ninja/tricksters/thieves, the girl next door, the bees, the nerdy girl is a secret sub/kinky gal, the clever one, Donne making make sub more feminine/put out to guys...

Thank you! Seems like almost every super hero search I see has to involve that in some way. Seems impossible to be be able to play a Male super hero unless say it's a M// thing.

Hmmm...trope I dislike the most is probably the very innocent, totally inexperienced and super shy type.

My favorite is hard to pick. :p Probably the warrior/fighter trope.

Dislike? Established dom/sub relationships and extremely submissive women in general.

Favorite? Sexy, confident, mature women.

Definite dislike. A teacher with any student, any type of monster character with a human in some relationship, dominant/submissive deal.

* Slutty character does slutty things.
* Character is forced in some way.
* Incest where it is no big deal that the characters are committing incest.
* Anime etc.
* Fandoms of any kind.
* Historical based RP's where it seems that whatever era it is set in the characters are acting like it's 2020.

What I like is,

* Multi faceted characters.
* Characters that are challenged in some way by what they are doing.
* Emotional and psychological development and exploration.
* Interesting stories.
* Characters that differ in some way or go against the usual cliches.
