Twilight at the bar....
Sophia smiled as she came to the bar. It was her first night auditioning. Though it wasn't a job that held a great amount of allure for her, the place needed a singer for the evenings and she needed a gig. Besides, if she got it, she'd be able to work as a waitress in the pub area, which wasn't terrible pay, and she'd heard that tips were good. Smiling as she entered, she adjusted the gardenia that was pinned into her curled hair. She wore a neat black dress that came to just above her knees, cut perfectly for her body. It showed just enough cleavage to make her appealing in a mysterious kind of way and she wore minimum make up.

When the owner nodded at her she took her place on the stage and sang her song--a slow, soothing melody that cut through the din of employees getting ready for the rush. Impressed, he asked her to sing something faster, which she did with equal clarity and volume. The pleasure on his face was far too clear to mistake. He hired her on the spot and taught her the night's specials so that she could work. She stowed her purse in back and tied her hair back with a smile.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
It was a calm place to drink. The black furred would could go and not be bothered with a hundred stares. People at the bar didn't ask questions and he didn't give answers. So, when he got off of his shift, he could be found on one of the bar stools, a beer in paw. Yes, paw. Although he stood on two legs, had the body like and spoke like a human, major parts of his anatomy were different. Particularly, his silky black fur, his muzzle, ears and tail. Lastly, his hands were still hands, but they were clawed just as a wolf's, thus 'paws.' That was what first took the bartender by surprise, but after a while, it wasn't so odd, having a black furred wolf to chat with, since he was the only one in on most nights. Even if he did only ever wear a pair of jeans. A shirt over his fur was just too hot and itchy.

But, this night was different. There was a stage, but in the year that he'd been drinking there, it'd never been used. Hearing a soft, slow song come from it, it made his ears perk. Turning to look, a beauty of a human on the stage, singing her heart out. Sitting with his back to the bar, he places his left elbow on it, his beer in his right paw. He could see the manager excitedly chatting with her, and for good reason. She was spectacular, her second song as equally amazing as the first.

Well, that certainly was worth the trip out. If she continued to work there and sing like that, the bar might actually liven up, and he might not be the only one drinking there on week nights. When she was off of the stage, he turned himself back to the bar, going back to idly drinking his beer, tail flicking behind him.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
Sophia smiled and came back to the bar, excusing the man on shift. She knew enough about how to make drinks and treat customers, as well as the prices. She was surprised to see the wolf at the bar, but smiled at him, finding his presence somehow pleasant. At the moment none of the other customers looked like they needed anything, so she came to his side and asked, "Can I get you another?"

Re: Twilight at the bar....
The wolf looks at her, the new waitress, his tail flicking idly. Giving a nod, he places a twenty onto the counter. "How about a boiler maker?" He asks, his blue eyes looking into her own. Looking at her, he tilts his head a little bit. "You know, a lot of males are going to come around this place, hitting on you..."

Re: Twilight at the bar....
Sophia blushed a little as she set to making him his drink. "I don't know about that," she said with a smile. When the drink was finished she pushed it to him. "I'm sure it'll happen at some point, but I doubt they'll come in just to do it. Is there anything else I can get you?" The flower in her hair caught the light--a beautiful tiger lily--as she turned when someone else asked her for another beer. "I'll be right with you," she said, picking out a glass for the customer and started to pour him another. She slid the glass down with a smile and returned to the wolf in front of her.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
A boilermaker, a shot of jack with a beer. Taking his shot while she's serving the other customer, he looks at her, giving a laugh. "I don't know what world you come from missy, but I'm half tempted to hit on you myself, seeing as there's no one else to do so." But, he hadn't hit on her, nor did he make it seem like he was about to. Taking another drink of his beer, he looks at her. "So, if I pay for another beer, will you drink it?" He asks, being coy.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
She laughed and shook her head. "Sorry, it's against policy. I'm not much for beer anyway. But, I will be a pal and watch you, so you don't end up falling off that chair before the night is over." Sophia took a few more orders and and there were a few for food that she passed on before coming back. "So, you're tempted to hit on me, huh? Would you still be if there were other women here?"

Re: Twilight at the bar....
The wolf laughs, shaking his head. "Nope. I work with women all day. Believe me, I think I've lost the talent of flirting." Oaks tells her, idly drinking his beer. At the rate he was going, he wasn't going to get drunk, but he'd certainly drink enough. "So, if I fall out of my stool, does that mean I get an escort home, then?" He asks her, now obviously hitting on her.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
She chuckled. "Maybe if it's the end of my shift," she said with a smile, easily playing it the right way. "Why don't you have a little something to eat so you can last longer?" She was trying to move merchandise and still be flirtatious. She thought she was doing a pretty good job. "But if you work with women all the time, you'd think that you wouldn't want anything to do with me," she said with a smile.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
The wolf looks at her and smiles. He knew that she was just trying to sell product. But, it wasn't like he had much else to spend his money on, anyway. So, he decided to humor her. Spend a good amount of money on her, her manager would like having her around. In turn, he'd get to see her. "Sure, why not." He says in that rough, world worn voice. "I'll take a burger." Oaks says, tapping his bottle on the bar. "And another beer, too, it seems."

Re: Twilight at the bar....
She smiled and took his order back to the cooks before she brought him another beer. "Here you go. Nice of you to take the bait," she said, leaning on the counter. It was not a busy night. "Why don't you tell me your name?"

Re: Twilight at the bar....
He looks at her and smiles, his tail flicking. She was certainly cute, not to mention she had a quick wit, which was more enticing than her aesthetic beauty. He worked around beauty all day. Dumb, air headed beauty that skated by on their looks. So, she was a refreshing change. "Alex Oaks. Most people just refer to me as 'Oaks'."

Re: Twilight at the bar....
"Nice to meet you Oaks. I'm Sophia. I'll accept about any variation of that name." She flashed him another smile before she was called to the side by another customer who'd had one too many. He was very openly rude and womanizing. Sophia didn't do anything but smile and refuse his advances politely, calling security over to take care of him. When she returned she sighed and put the man's dirty dishes in a sink. She returned to Oaks and smiled again. "Thank you for not being like that one."

Re: Twilight at the bar....
He watches the two security officers struggle to yank the drunk man outside as he was screaming at the top of his lungs and kicking. Seeing her come back, he gives a laugh. "Well. Maybe it's just because I'm trying to get into a beautiful woman's pants, Sophie." Oaks says, smiling coyly before taking another drink.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
"Is that so? Well, that'd be difficult considering that I'm wearing a dress." She winked and left him for a moment. When she returned, she had a burger for him. "Here you go. Don't try too hard with that pretty lady. She'll rip your heart out." She shrugged and started to dry the dishes she'd washed before.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
The wolf wasn't really interested in the burger. He'd occasionally nibble on it, but he'd really just bought it for the hell of it. "Let me take you on a date. When do you get off?" Oaks asks, now completely straight forward with his ambitions.

"Hmm, it depends on my partner," she said with a wink, clearly teasing him. She filled a pitcher with beer before handing it to a server. "I get off in about an hour, but I won't let you take me unless I know where we're going."

He gives a laugh, nodding. "How about this gorgeous little Italian restaurant down the street?" Oaks asks her, his tail flicking. "We go have a nice dinner, and then I'll walk you home through the park." He says, smiling.

"What if the park isn't on my way home?" she asked with a smile, amused by the way he was so confident that he'd get her if he really wanted. "I don't mind Italian though. It might be nice." She smiled and filled another order. "Dinner it is, Oaks."

He smiles, giving a nod. "The park anyway. It's a beautiful walk. It'd be a nice end to the date." When she accepts him, he murrs happily, his tail flicking. "Great. I'm paying, so you don't have to worry about that, cutie."

Sophia laughed and nodded. "Alright, alright. I think it's my turn up on stage again. See you in a little while." She was replaced with an average looking guy. She smiled in passing and then headed up to the stage, a few people watching her. When the music started, she began to sing the song she did for her audition.

"Hey, Mac." Oaks says to the bartender that typically was serving him. Turning, he watches Sophie on stage, smiling, enjoying the song.

"Thank you," Sophia said when the song was over. She took a moment to pick another song and when the music started playing again, she went into another song, her hips swaying to the music as she sang.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
He didn't mind the wait. They'd agreed to go out once she got off of work, anyway. So, he just say and enjoyed her amazing voice. The lean, rough, rather scary looking when angry wolf smiles a little bit while he watches her sing.

Re: Twilight at the bar....
Sophia managed to liven things up a bit by the time she was done on stage and then she her shift was up. She smiled and waved at the patrons of the bar before grabbing her coat from the back closet. When Sophia came back, she was behind Oaks, watching him. "Ready? Or am I going home by myself?"
