The year is 2027, nearly 10 years have passed in the wake of The Marvelous War of 2017. In such a gap, heroism has been outlawed unless deemed necessary by the new POTUS, Tony Stark who rules America with a literal iron fist. What could have caused a beloved icon to replace all forms of law enforcement and military branching with that of his spandex clad cohorts could be traced back to the spark that lit the flame in 2017.

A seemingly simple premise: The Avengers take on an invading alien force to save the world, but choices are made that cause domino effect of ruination. In the aftermath, politicians and the people at large blame superheroes for their sorry state of affairs and present them a statute of limitations, and during some mandatory down time a group of villains lay waste to a mutant based charity event which forces the hands of the X-Men and gets a raise out of Magneto whom the X-Men actually side with against the nation's capitol. Sides and lines are quickly drawn as the Avengers are called into action, but more choices are made once the dust clears as the X-Men and all under mutant terminology are branded as terrorists and are given a price on their heads.

To save face, the respective leaders of the superhero community try to persuade the American people that there is still hope, but it doesn't take and the superhero community quickly falls apart. That is, until Tony Stark becomes the next president under a seemingly foolproof plan of worldwide unity. Nobiscum stabunt aut cum eis, Stand With Us, or Fall With Them...

So this is the basic premise of the story, in the future there are no outright heroes and the X-Men are effectively no more. There are those who are against the Iron Monarch and act as vigilantes outside the law to fight a rising villain (or group) that those in power are unaware of. No original characters unless they are legacy based, and no children of individuals as we are only operating from this 10 year gap and onwards. This will be a loosely canon set Marvel Universe, so we can reference things that have happened in the past, but we are near completely set in operating in this dystopic and totalitarian future.

I will be playing Tony Stark, who is the leader of the "free world", the American Avengers, and the Iron Monarch. I'll also be playing the Big Bad.
