The alarm blared and Anette groaned. Her emerald eyes fluttered open to glare at the alarm clock beside her. She sighed heavily as her hand lifted to turn off the ring with a flop of her hand onto the clock. She groaned and turned onto her stomach, burying her face into the pillows once more. She was not in a happy mood right now. She had stayed up until two in the morning last nigh talking to her friend as he made his way home, despite the fact that she had classes in the morning, and she was just not in a happy mood right now. He never cared that she had school, or some other plans she needed to do in the morning. No matter what, whenever he needed something, he called. She had not minded. In the past, she liked to be needed, but now, now it was getting old. She did not mind being his friend, she minded being his stepping stone and support and that's it. She was pretty positive he did not even see her as a true friend. Or at least not hte ones he goes out drinking and partying with. No, she did not want to party with him, she just wanted more respect from him. She would even take him just coming over to have tea once in a while instead of crying about his life.

Sighing heavily, she slid out of the bed and stumbled into the shower. Cleaning up and washing her long, crimson locks. She stepped from the shower and pulled a towel around her form. Her eyes slipped closed for a few moments, trying to wake up, yet it was not working at all. She groaned and brushed her hair, and teeth, got ready for the day, then out into her bedroom once more it was. She changed into her jeans and a simple purple sweater. Wandering around a little, she scooped up her messenger bag, draping that on her shoulder. Her cell phone was shoved into a random pocket of the bag and then she slipped into her converse and out the door of her apartment it was. She needed to get to class, and lucky for her, she was only a good twenty minute walk away from the campus. She really wanted to just stay in, but she knew that she could not do that.

Leon groaned as he woke up, what a hell of a night. It was all just merging into one though, the days and the nights. They never seemed to end. His lifestyle of recklessness and complete and utter disregard for his body was starting to wear on him, he didn't care though aslong as he had fun. Pushing himself up, he stumbled and fell out of his bed. Was he really that slow now? With all the stumbling it took him about 20 minutes to reach the shower and even longer to wash himself. Eventually though he stumbled out, fresh and clean. He was ready for another day, more importantly another night.

Walking out the front door, Leon locked it behind him and made his way to school, today would be boring, just like yesterday and the day before that. Did anyone really know that he only had such a nightlife because he found the day so slow? It was his one vice in his life right now and he didn't want to give it up. Standing at the entrance to the campus, Leon waited for Anette, he vaguely remembered calling her again last night but he couldn't remember why. He was always glad to have her to fall back on, and no matter how much he forgot, she would always be there to remind him and take care of him the next day.

Anette walked onto the campus, glancing around and she sighed softly. She really wanted to just go back home and go to sleep. She pushed aside her thoughts and continued to walk. She spotted the familiar face of Leon and smiled warmly. No matter how much he annoyed her, she could not push him away. She knew that for her better life, she probably should have stopped talking to him when he first started to party more than he should. She could not just abandon him though. He was her firend and she knew him since they were small. There was no way she would ever just up and leave, right? He should get a reality check soon and then he'll realize how silly it is to party and drink and whatever he does truly is.

Taking in a deep breath, she walked up to Leon and smiled lightly. "Morning." She said gently and then began to walk toward the building which held their class.

Turning to face Anette as she approached, Leon threw his cigarette to the ground and crushed it out. He grinned at her sheepishly, to idiotic to come up with any kind of apology. He never did say sorry, and just assumed Anette would understand if he didn't. So once again, Leon just walked beside her in almost silence. He didn't really have much to say the morning after, he never did. It would be at least a couple of days before Leon would remember everything, and if not he would remember most of it. Still, he knew better than to brag about what might have happened.

As the approached the lecture hall, Leon turned to Anette and smiled once more. He should probably thank her at the very least but what would that open up? He was unsure of a lot of things in his life, at least Leon could always rely on getting drunk, stoned and having fun. Other than Anette, that was the one constant in his life.

"Thanks"

Anette turned to Leon and smiled. "It's fine." She said simply, hiding her tru annoyance with the man. It would not do any good to tell at him. He would not listen anyway. So, she just kept going. Making her way into the room and walking to her normal seat. She sat down and instantly began to pull out all the work that was due, and the books and everything else she needed for the day. Before he could even ask, she put her homework in front of his seat, knowing that he would have to copy her work. She did not care anymore. This has been their routine since middle school. She did the work. He copied. She helped him study for the big tests, and he would wind up with mediocre grades, and she never had her full potential since she was always tired form helping him. Yep. He definitely was a thorn in her side, but she loved him anyway.

Leon didn't say anything else, he wasn't so oblivious that he couldn't tell when something was wrong with Anette, but he was smart enough not to push. He would find out eventually, one way or another. He just never knew how. Smiling, Leon carried on with their usual routine and began to copy her homework, putting it into his own words and jotting down notes in his scrawled handwriting. It was a wonder as to how anyone ever read his work but then maybe that was why they hadn't been caught yet, because no one bothered to check.

Yawning, Leon's head began to fall, his eyelids drooping. He was falling asleep again. Before he knew it, his head made a soft thud against the desk as he crashed out. He would get woken up soon so it didn't matter if he took 10 minutes before class to have another nap, the first of many to come that day and every other day.

Anette jotted down the notes the teacher was giving, her eyes closing at the loud thud beside her .She would admit, she was annoyed. She did the work, yet he got to sleep. She was the one whose sleep was unwillingly deprived last night because he called her in his selfish ways to talk him down to calm down. She hated this so much. she stared at him for a while before her jaw clenched. Packing up her books, at the break in the class, she was out. She exited the room without a look to him. She needed to leave. She was getting annoyed with him for being so carefree and apathetic to everything around him. She has babied him, yes, but that did not mean that she gave him permission to stay that way for the rest of his life.

Heading out into the halls and instantly made her way back toward the apartment she lived in. She could not stand being with him right now. She just needed to get away. Her lack of sleep and so much else was trying her patience.

Leon was eventually woken up by the bell signifying the end of class. Pushing himself upright, he turned to look at Anette, only she wasn't there. That was strange, she always sat through class. Jumping upto his feet, Leon walked out the room sluggishly. Perhaps she just needed the toilet? Shrugging it off, he walked out onto the school grounds and sat up against a tree, it had been a while now, where was she? Digging into his pocket, Leon pulled out his cell and pressed the redial button. Placing the phone to his ear he waited and waited for someone to answer, finally when she did Leon seemed relieved but nonetheless he was curious.

"Hey where the hell'd you go?"
