Dan and Andrew stepped out of the car in front of the theatre. Dan passed the keys to the valet who stepped into it and pulled it away to the parking lot. The two men then walked into the building, side by side. They smiled and greeted the people around them, many of whom they had come to know over the three years they had been members of the theatre's support organisation. They had made some genuine friends and plenty of great contacts for their careers. Both of them were quite successful already at the age of thirty. Most people would have said that they had everything they wanted in life, but that wasn't entirely true.

They mingled with the crowd in the foyer until it was time to go in to take their seats. They had their usual seats on one of the balconies on the right side of the theatre. When they reached the balcony they hugged their friends who had the other seats and sat side by side. They relaxed, Andrew reminding Dan to put his phone on silent. They settled in, ready to enjoy the ballet. The time at the theatre was always a relaxing experience for the two of them, as well as time together. They had shared their love of performance arts since they were in the drama club together in high school. They had both ended up working in the art world. Andrew was an author with a strong following. Dan was an art dealer, buying and selling many different things for the gallery that his mother had owned for many years. He would eventually take over the business and was already the lead dealer.

The lights dimmed and an older woman walked out on stage to introduce the show. Soon enough the men were lost in a world of music and precise movement across the stage. Dancers in perfect harmony with each other and with the music. They found themselves holding hands as they watched the spectacular performance. They spent the intermission mingling again and managed to speak with the director of the ballet troupe, arranging a back stage tour after the show. The rest of the show was better than the first half and both men joined the standing ovation immediately and were among the last to retake their seats.

They took their time leaving their seats and made the turn toward the backstage door. They were met there by the director, shaking hands and stepping into the back along with a few others who were being given the tour as well. They were all excited to meet the dancers who had put on an amazing show. They went room by room, meeting a few of the performers, shaking their hands, and congratulating them on their success, wishing them luck in their future shows and their careers.

Allison was a young female college student. While she was majoring in psychology with a minor in in sociology. She was in her second year of college but was ahead of the game and had taken lots of advance courses her earlier secondary years and had graduated high school a handful of useful college credits. Even though the young women spent a good time of her time in her studies her hobby was dance. She had taken ballet as a child, that turned into her studying jazz and then her favorite was hip hop and street dancing. She got out of doing dance competitions and just danced for enjoyment with a few groups. She had gotten access to practice and be a part of a special program the theater had invested in, it was urban dancing with a twist. They were months away from actually performing.

Tonight Allison had gotten off of school, headed over to the dance studio to hang out with a couple of girls. They got lost in time having fun and making routines. The more routines, the more people they could draw in to get funded and pushed forward. Allison also wanted to someday start her own group where she could instruct younger ages.

She wouldn't know two older men were about cross paths with her own, she didn't know once their paths intertwined, they would stay that way as the girl blossomed into a woman. The friends that were showing them around back stage was taking them back and heard the music from the girl’s studio. He made a face putting a finger to his mouth as he motioned for everyone to be quiet as he held another hand out to halt them as he checked. He motioned the two men to come and get a sneak peak of the performance.

He would explain in a low whisper about the dance group, how they were always around just practicing, and making new routines. He stayed quiet as the music kicked into the lyrics and let them see the entertainment for their selves. The song was Do What U Want by Lady GaGa.

Allison was front and center behind her male dance partner. She was in sync to his movements and was in rhythm with his. Allison always got serious and into her roles having fun, looking sensual and sexual just for effect. She had no idea people of the theater was showing her off.

Dan and Andrew were amazed by the level of talent there at the theatre. Their host was showing them all of the best members of the ballet troupe. Yet when they heard music coming from a studio everyone was a little confused. They followed the man's instructions and waited as he took a look in the room. When he waved over Dan and Andrew they approached silently. The whispered explanation brought up a few memories of seeing the program on a few lists from the theatre to tell supporters what was going on. They had never met anyone from the program before. Both of them were excited to see the potential they had heard about.

They approached the door and looked inside, watching as the song started up and the dancers began their rehearsal. They were all very talented, but one girl stood out above all the others. The one in the middle was truly incredible. They way she moved, the way she looked, the attitude and expression. She was spectacular and the impression she made on them would be a lasting one. They knew that they had to get to know her, to learn more about her. One glance at each other and they knew they were on the same page.

As the music came to an end Andrew stepped into the room, applauding. Dan was right behind him and gave a quick cheer. The two approached the dancers with big smiles. When they finished clapping Dan spoke up to them. "That was wonderful. You were all so synchronised and in time with the music. The choreography was perfect for the song. We were told that you all come up with the routines. You should be proud of yourselves. There is a lot of talent in this room and we are both happy to be supporters of this theatre tonight if you are what they are investing in. Sorry for our intrusion, but we just had to come and tell you all how talented you are. We will definitely be first in line to buy tickets to your show. Count on that." Andrew nodded his approval and both men found their eyes lingering on Allison.

The routine ended and everyone involved was laughing and the other members who sat this one out was leaning on the wall clapping. Then that’s when Allison saw the two older gentlemen walk in looking like two magazine Calvin cline models, but modest ones. She about lost her breath and had to do a double take listening to Dan as he spoke. She was also shocked to hear they were going to fund this program to move forward, that made her happy but also made her anxiety go up. Though she wasn't the only female in the group so she could give bigger parts to other people she practiced with but she had no idea these men had their eyes on her, betting their money on her.

Allison was blushing and overly nervous, she was use to being active and open to her peers but in front of an audience and these two men, she felt like a little girl. She nodded and put her hands on her hip as she caught her breath. She noticed both men kept eying her. She would look at them back but quickly advert her eyes to not make it look like she was directly staring at them.

Dan had always been the one to speak first, without fully thinking things through. Andrew tended to be quiet until he knew exactly what he wanted to say. Though he was usually the first to simply do something while Dan was more cautious in action. In that way, and many others, they tended to compliment each other. While Dan had not really meant to say that they were specifically increasing any funding that the theatre would give to their program, Andrew was able to see the reaction. There would be no turning back from that, though it wasn't a bad thing either. They could easily convince other backers to give more for that program.

After a moment of silence to let everything sink in, Andrew spoke up. He felt oddly nervous and uncertain, but he knew that he needed to do something to make sure he could learn more about the girl in the middle. So he spoke with as much confidence as he could gather. "I personally think that your group here hasn't been noticed enough by backers, so I think that we would love to arrange meetings between each of you and at least one or two backers so they can get to know you and feel confident about supporting you. It will also be great for creating contacts in the industry. If you are interested, make a list of names and phone numbers and we will arrange the rest." He smiled, looking around the room at each of them. Dan seemed a bit confused, but showed his agreement, looking around the room as well. Neither wanted to look away from Allison for too long, but both knew they shouldn't stare.

With their little speeches done they backed away toward the door and turned to their friend and director of the ballet troupe. Dan put his hand on the man's shoulder. "Since he decided to make us aware of you, he has volunteered to make the list. We look forward to meeting some of you again soon. We will let you get back to your rehearsal now." They both smiled once more, then left the room.
