Haru's Heedful Howlings -[Comments Welcome]-

You know Siberian Huskies are my weakness!!!!!

LOL. Sorry Lully!

I think when I talked to you it was technically today, Wednesday, because it was after midnight. It is September 1st. So Thursday. STILL tomorrow! Time is going so slooooooowwwwww. :p

But I will take it! Give me all the birthday wishes and I will hand out the spankings! Heehee!

You are very right Verikatt ^^ That is the important part! Now if it was six months away and we wished him right now, that might be a bit far fetched xP

You should be Haru! You got me all confused! Grrr! -shakes non-lethal and non-threatening fists at you- xP
It's okay love. I had a feeling that I was a day early when I saw Verikatt's confirmation that it was tomorrow, the 1st, especially since she has it marked on her calendar! How sweet! :D

But nonetheless, I still wish you! Now give me the spankings! :D
It puts the spanks on Mali's bum :D

-looks at the post above and tilts my head-

I KNOW there's a joke somewhere in there about a fat pussy, but I'm not sure just where. :p:p:p

Thank you all for the great birthday wishes! I got ome things for my PSP and I am pretty happy! The only downer was Labor Day weekend, since I spent all day Sunday at the hospital with my SO, who was suffering abdominal pains that then moved to her chest. A huge battery of tests and nothing seemed out of place, so they want her to go see a specialist and get scoped. Since one of the only things that won't show up on tests and would explain her pain is an ulcer. -le sigh- Still, she is feeling a lot better and the pain is more dull now after a couple of days with a bland diet. Blech!

So here we are, heading into Fall! My favorite time of the year! despite my lag in posting I think I got caught up today, and I want to apologize to my partners. I think I've kept in touch with all of you pretty decently, but if not, feel free to kick my butt! Heehee.

Like I said, heading into Fall, and halloween is also my favorite holiday! I have not forgotten the cute animals, and here are some piggies in a punkin'!

I'm glad that your SO is feeling better but sorry she has to have a bland diet in order to do so. Hopefully yours wasn't too bland or if it was you could sneak something that wasn't. no comment on the fat pussy because...well that would just be too easy. :)

I am also glad that you managed to post because, as always, I love your posts!!!!!! Glad that you got some more games to play with. I'm terrible with computer games but enjoy watching others play. I get horribly turned around and lost.

I LOVE that picture of the piggies. I saw it the other day and just went awwwww. makes me wonder on that size of that pumpkin! hehehe.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs.

I think the little pigs are really tiny. Look at the hand above them. Of course it could be Photoshopped, but I've seen little pigs fit into teacups just like some puppies. They can be really tiny!

Glad you liked the posts sweetie! I know it took a bit!

As to my own diet, nope! Mine doesn't have to be bland, but she's gotta eat things like yogurt and cheese (she can have dairy), but has to stay away from spicy foods obviously and actually a lot of fruits and vegetables because fibrous foods exacerbate the problem. But I am hoping we can get her to the specialist and not spend too much money to find out if she really does have an ulcer or what. Her spleen is enlarged, but that can mean a lot of things... or nothing!

-hugs- I'll keep everyone informed and keep the cute animal pics coming!

Whew!

Yes, I am still alive! As some of you know, the last couple days have been really rough. I have a puppy that is 10 years old (shut up! They're always puppies to me!), and poor ol' Higgins (that's his name), hasn't been doing well. Despite being blind, mostly, he's always been an active little fella. He's part Jack Russel and part Pekinese.

Anyway, a couple days ago he just.... stopped. He was very lethargic, not even able to stand up, peeing on himself, and then he stopped eating. So, took him to a vet that we'd heard does really good work. I am sure they do, but we spent $100 for the initial visit, which consisted of a shot and a flea pill.

We know we have some fleas, but for the most part the puppies have never really had a problem. This vet said it was so bad that Higgins needed a blood transfusion. !!!! So, that meant that they wanted $500 up front.

I don't have that kind of money right off, so brought him home, keep him comfy. He's cold. His temp is 95 and it's supposed to be about 102. Manage to scrounge some money today, but only manage about $330. That's not good enough and the vet still refuses to take him.

Some good friends recommend another vet. Actually get to talk to this vet on the phone and he is PISSED that the first vet refused to take him. He listened to what was said, and said to bring him right away, that it was an emergency. o... head to that vet, Higgins in hand, and he looks him over. Says that yeah, he does have fleas, but it is very unusual for them to actually kill your dog. The flea pill had killed them all and he said that there has to be an underlying problem.

That vet, Dr. Wojo, is fucking awesome. He took him in, already took blood, and says he does need a transfusion, and if we'd have waited til Monday like the other vet said, Higgins would not have made it. He already has a donor dog set up and we are going to do everything we can for him. He didn't even ask for any money down to leave him there.

Higgins is not out of the woods yet, and he still may not make it, but he is at the puppy hospital and we're working here at home to make it hospitable. Since we can get it replaced basically for free we're ripping out our carpet to get rid of fleas and going to have this place cleaned up so hopefully if baby Higgins can come home then he at least doesn't have the fleas.

Now I am home, destressing after running around all day, and trying to get the muse back to get into my plays.

My greatest thanks to all my partners, understanding as they have been, and I promise I have not fallen off the edge of the earth!

Poor Higgins! I'm sorry to hear that. Huggses.

I hope things get better for all. Fleas on animals and in carpets and stuff can be bad. It sounds like you have a good vet this time. I did blink when I heard doggie donor. I never thought there were such things but an TOTALLY glad there was one.

Hugs.

Things will get better.

I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy, I hope he gets better soon. :(

Does the vet have any idea what it could possibly be causing the issue???

After talking to the vet today, they are still running tests. However, after the transfusion ol' Higgins is up and about, being a little feisty. So that is great news! Still not back to his old self, but I expect to find out more soon. They were about to feed him and see if he'd eat, so hopefully that went well. I figure if it had not then they'd have let me know.

Thanks for all the support and well wishes!

That's WONDERFUL news! You go Higgins! I love the description of the word Fiesty! That is really good word when you are looking for signs of recovery.

I'm glad that it was good news today!

Hugs!

For those of you who have never seen my lil' buddy, this is Higgins. Hopefully that pic shows up. He's much older now, but this s how I like to remember him. This was his 4th birthday and he got a plain burger and fries from Burger King. You can even see how happy he is by how he is smiling!

THAT is my buddy, and even though he is mostly blind now, he is a great little dog.

That is such a cute picture of him. Hi Higgins!

He might be much older but I bet he is still super cute! Thanks for sharing the pix. He looks adorable.

Yay! Got a call from the vet and Higgins was able to come home today! I already rushed right out and got him! He's so much like his old self. He's still a little weak, and we have to take him back in a week to make sure that his blood cell count is acting like it should. They're supposed to have a count of 35+ and when we brought him in he was only a 6. Today he is already at a 20 and climbing. The vet said he'd never seen a dog with a count that low actually live, even after a transfusion. A cat, yes, but not a dog.

Higgins is tough!

So now he is home and very happy. That means that I can go back to showing happy animal pictures!

He's doing really good! He's got a little green bandage wrapped about one front leg where they did the transfusion, and he's back to his cranky scruffeh self. lol. He got a Milkbone when he got home, and he's asleep right now on his footstool. He's a little weak and wobbly at times, but he was very excited to come home and wore himself out. But I am glad to see that.

As to the butts.... I think everyone is partial to their very own puppy's butt! :p

So to accompany my picture above of 4yo Higgins, here is a picture of Higgins right out of the vet yesterday. Sorry the pic is so big, but you can definitely see his age, and his poor cataracts. Little blind buddy. But he must have gotten blood from a puppy donor because he hasn't acted like this in a long time! He's really rowdy and feisty!

Ugh. When it rains it pours. My apologies to my writing partners for being a bit slow, especially you LittleBear.

My SO is in the hospital and had to have some teeth extracted. A maxillofacial (?) surgeon had to cut out some teeth that were infected. Her face was SO swollen on the left side and it was starting to cut off her airway. BUT... she is on the mend and should actually be discharged soon, so that is good.

It's just one thing after another!
