princess' fall, Guardian's ascent

This could be a fantasy, sci-fi, or modern setting. The general premise is a princess and her Guardian are captured by pirates/bandits. En route, the guardian makes his move, killing their leader, only to find the remaining pirates want to make him their leader. The offer is tempting, but what seals the deal is the women at the fort awaiting the pirate's return.

The princess is not impressed. She has far more important things to do than play pirate, and why are all these women willingly subjecting themselves? Looks like she'll find out soon enough.
