New York, New York was known for many things: the people, architecture, food, transits, being the most popular tourist attraction of he United States and finally it's museums. So many large luxurious places where the rich threw away their money on ink and the name of the artist. But the world wasn't always like that. There had been a finesse to art, a pride in making something even the gods themselves looked upon in awe and admiration. Or well, that's what Galatea thought to herself as she was moved from one grand museum to another, large rooms, small, cramped or all alone she was the only thing that truly saw the world from the eyes of the artwork.

The The Frick Collection was where she was staying at the moment having been... Well she didn't know why she was here really, just knew that she was and she was to stay for several months. It was always exciting to her when she moved having been bored with the last museum she had been at. the Frick Collection was in a large 18th century mansion, opened to the public and had walls upon walls of art, statues inn the garden and a large hedge maze where people were warned to take maps with them at all times.

Students all the way from elementary to college visited the private collection to study and learn some college students finding in turn jobs as well as real jobs after college with the museum.

Of course Galatea didn't know all of this just quite yet but she was oh so eager to learn. She was excited for the museum to close as streams and streams of people looked upon her on her pedestal in the middle of the enclosed garden in the middle of the house. She didn't understand why people liked to look at her so much she was only a figure. She was a simple statue really, sitting upon uncared marble stone, fish on either side of her acting, her stone gaze was turned to the side as if watching the flowers grow, while her breasts were exposed and a piece of stone material laid on her lap expertly carved.

For now she waited and simply watched as people passed by her stone form counting the hours down in her head until she could once again roam the halls.

Andrew looked around. He looked at his watch and realised that he had spent a long time in the private exhibit. Closing time would be soon. He turned towards a corner only to find himself lost. He couldn't find his way back! He walked towards the long way in the garden, only to find himself facing a dead end. He bit his lip. This garden hedge maze is confusing! He thought it was like he was in a Cretean labyrinth where the Minotaur was. If he was not in a panic, he would have thought this amusing. He randomly walked through hedges, hoping he would by some miracle reach the exit. He did not understand why the owner would make his garden in this fashion, especially when the general people would come and see the artworks. However, he suspected that this might be due to the owner wanting to create a feeling of ancient Greece and its culture. Sure, he appreciate it as an artist, but since he was tired he just wanted to go home. He had already taken several sketches of things he find interesting. He had been aspiring to be an artist, a painter, someday and was going to museums after museums for inspiration. Of course, when he heard that the Frick Collection would be opening to the public, he could not resist. The owner of the Private Collection was known for having his home fashioned to Greco-Roman culture.

He did not realise that he had walk near the centre of the garden where Galatea was.

If she could have tapped her foot in her stone form she would have as she waited and waited. Her anxious feeling of excitement bursting. But finally the whistling janitor came around and her did his last sweep of the house before leaving through the front door and locking it behind him. She only waited a few minutes longer before she began the process.

Galatea's fingertips and toes were first as they became a more flesh tone and slowly worked up her arms legs, her hair turning to a healthy auburn brown in its braids, there was a slight crackling sound as she did so. The stone seeming to fall away at certain parts of her and dissolve before they ever his the ground. She was a far more lithe figure than what her statue depicted as the goddess herself had taken some liberties when transforming her.

But slowly and steadily her figure turned from the pale marble to the flesh tones of a rather pale human. The darker marbling in her legs and shoulders were still there almost looking like rather odd birthmarks.

It was a rather intense process as she gritted her teeth and waited to move until it all came around her heart, there was a loud thump in her ears as she supposed her theoretical heart pounded in her chest only once before quieting again not to be heard until she reverted back to stone.

Although she didn't need to breath she took a large breath, learning from humans over the years as she leapt down from her pedestal and land in the soft grass below her feet. It had been so long since she had moved as she stretched and looked around her empty statue at the velvet rope surrounding her before lifting it up and ducking under it.

"Oh!" She remembered her red fabric at the last moment and leaned over the rope only to grab onto corner the already red cloth that was partially transformed and give it a large tug. The fabric broke from its statue form, the pieces of broken stone once again dissolving to the ground and she skillfully wrapped it around her naked form in a draped toga as she walked off into the museum a soft hum upon her lips.

Andrew turned the corner when he heard locking sound. Oh no! He thought. They had already locked up. He looked around and a strange sight appeared before him. A statue was suddenly slowly moving... He hid behind a bush to see what is taking place. He saw Galatea slowly turned from marble into a more human-like appearance. He continued watching until she went off her pedestal and hum her way.

Andrew was speechless; he didn't understand what was happening. It was all surreal to him. He approach her cautiously, avoiding getting caught.
