Disney's ZOOTOPIA - (Anthro/Furry + Human Option)

I just (finally) saw Zootopia and I am obsessed.
Between the various social, economic, political issues explored and the many adult references - the concept for the film is simply phenomenal.
Needless to say, if you have not seen the film, turn back now unless you're willing to watch it before beginning the RP. Also, this thread will contain SPOILERS.

After seeing the movie, I'm dead set on starting a roleplay between Judy Hopps and Nicholas Wilde. Judy and Nick have exceptional chemistry throughout the film, box being very opposite in character (and stereotypical species) yet still finding common ground where they have developed a flourishing friendship (and hopefully more).


What I'm looking for:

I'm looking for a partner who is willing to play the sly, cunning fox named Nicholas Wilde. I will be playing Judy Hopps. The roleplay will take off from the ending of Zootopia, where Nick becomes and police officer and is Judy's official partner. The two of them would essentially already have extensive feelings for one another, however the two would of them would be platonic / just friends at the beginning of the roleplay. The goal would be for them to further explore their feelings with one another (a relationship that will become both romantic and sexual).

Anthro/Furry VS. Human Option:
I adore the dynamic between Nick and Judy so much, that I am willing to pursue BOTh the anthro/furry original Zootopia concept as well as a HUMAN version of their relationship. I will also offer an in-between Kemonomimi option. SEE BELOW.

The Concept of Zootopia:

In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy (IMDB). Zootopia takes place in a world of NO HUMANS whatsoever. Only animals as part of the animal kingdom are including, and are mostly all land mammals. The concept of the film is that animals have biologically evolved over thousands of years to walk on two legs, wear clothes, and all get along. All species live in harmony with one another, and there are no predators vs. prey anymore. The same social, economic, and political issues that occur in real human world translate identically in Zootopia (all laws, morals, taxes, employment, etc.).

The main issue I want to include in this RP:

The only issue that is not openly explored in the film is the topic of inter-species relationships. In the movie, there is no clear indication that different animal species are capable of reproducing. All animals featured in the film are pure-breeds, not hybrids or mixed-species. Which leads me to suspect that although two species can physically be intimate, they may not be able to reproduce with one another. This issue can or can not be incorporated into the roleplay storyline - such a matter can be further discussed. Regardless of whether it is fictionally possible for two different animal species to breed in Zootopia or not, I foremost NEED to incorporate that there is a negative cultural stigma between inter-species couples (similar to how interracial and intercultural are often real major issues in the real human world). It's an aspect of their relationship that I am specifically craving and wanting to incorporate in the roleplay. I feel it will add a lot of added dynamic to their friendship. Essentially, Judy and Nick will be not only legal partners (police officers) and best friends, but they will also be battling personal feelings for one another. This issue will be complex, simply because they are physically different species, and therefore are not socially accepted as a potential couple.

HUMAN Options:

Full Human: The same storyline as Zootopia would apply. The story would take place in the near-future. In the human version, Nick would be a hustler, a borderline criminal who gets away with breaking the law through various technicalities. Officer Hobbs would be trying to prove herself as a tiny, 4-foot tall FEMALE police officer in the NYDP. She would be assigned a missing person's case, which she soon discovers uncovers a massive conspiracy. A drug would have been produced that causes people to go crazy and become extremely violent - all missing persons would have been subject to this drug. People affected by the Night Howler plant extract (drug) develop a raging bloodlust and desire to kill and eat other human beings (kind of like a zombie-esque disease, but without body rotting). Nick and Judy would have grown close through working together to solve this conspiracy case. At the end of the film, the case is solved, and Judy convinced Nick to go straight and become a police officer. He gets accepted and becomes her partner.

The same physical differences would apply as well from Zootopia. Judy would be a full 2 feet shorter than Nick. Judy would be short and bottom heavy with a petite upper body, and Nick would have a tall but mainly slim figure. Their characters would also remain the same. Nick would be sly, cunning, and often cold/ falsely uncaring. Meanwhile Judy is very bright and exceptionally kind and compassionate (which often makes her naive).

Because this would take place in the near-future, we could have a bit of fun with it and incorporate some elements of advanced technology and genetics (kind of like the Marvel Cinematic Universe). Additionally, I would still like to incorporate some sort of barrier that stops Nick and Judy from crossing over from friendship to a romantic relationship. Since the two are both humans, so an inter-species dilemma is not entirely possible, we could incorporate another creative social issue that is related to their near-future setting. Such as, perhaps, exploring the idea that there are sub-races within humans, or significant cultural differences from humans deriving from different districts (similar to the issues in the Star Wars universe). Perhaps there can be an issue with the fact that they are not legally allowed to be involved because they are partners. Or perhaps if we want to explore the social-class/ district option, perhaps they are legally not allow to be together because they are from different disctricts. Who knows! We can have a lot of fun with this. Let's discuss!

Kemonomimi: This is the fandom where humans have animal ears and tails.

The image above is a concept/fan-art for Nick and Judy - what they would look like as anime Kemonomimi characters (without ears, however, I would want them to have their proper animal ears). In this concept, the same human storyline as above would apply, however with an additional inter-species issue. The issue would be strictly cultural and not so much biological. So, the two would be capable of reproducing with one another, however, there is a crippling social stigma about mixed-breeds.
