Shadowman (ZonaTea & Vyrania)

By this point, Aaron had finished his apple and tossed the core into the fireplace, unsure of what else to do with waste. Thus, he was just sitting curled in his chair when the bags dropped around him. He gasped and lurched to his feet in surprise, then stared down wide-eyed at the luggage.

He blinked, sur ehe recognized them. He clutched at his cloak, afraid to get closer as if he was staring at snakes that might bite him. Then, he slowly crouched down to discover that - indeed - these were his belongings. He felt a small measure of relief to have some of his clothing and hygiene products back, and then a small measure of hope. He checked to see if his laptop had also been retrieved. If he had that...

Emil followed after the bags after a moment. "Are you happy my little lamb? You have your things back" and he only murdered one person tonight so a good track record for him. Actually he didn't notice him eyeing the bag with his laptop. The walls wouldn't block Aaron from getting signal there, not that Emil would ever know, technology had never been his strong suit.

"Surely you dont' want to wear my old cloak forever, though I take it it would be the warmest thing in your possession. I've seen your clothes...they look pitiful" though something for his feet would have been good. He adored Aaron far too much that he had gone shopping and retrieved his things. Besides, catching hypothermia wasn't on his list of things he wanted to do to his young sacrifice.

Many possible reactions raced through Aaron's head in a matter of a moent. Anger and bitterness was what he wanted to display, to spit venom at this creature who expected him to be grateful for anything while being held prisoner. However, all he had to do was remind himself of that dungeon and those hanging corpses to keep a reign on his tongue. No, he needed to play this game, at least a little bit. Rekindling Emil's anger at him was not a road he wanted to go down.

So, without looking up, Aaron muttered, "...Thank you..." though it made his stomach turn to say it. He then began fishing through is bags to find a set of clothes, primarily socks and undergarments, but he also produced a pair of sweatpants and a warm sweater.

Emil wasn't stupid, he knew Aaron was upset with him. Who wouldn't he tortured the poor boy, not yet physically but mentally with the corpses in his dungeon. Of course, he hadn't yet shown him what he did to his victims but it was a possibility while he was there. At least he didn't have to worry about his little lamb freezing in his cold home. He would just have to be comfortable there for a while at least. He could take good care of him there.

Folding his arms he would watch him, the light of the fire and the bags all around...it hadn't been that messy in there in ages. This wasn't some cheap hotel but he doubted Aaron just wanted to stay there. Not now that he'd retrieved his stuff. "Mm, well, try and rest some tonight" he said. "You will need it" that he could promise.

Aaron allowed himself relief, as it sounded as though he would be left alone for the night. So, he started to set up a little bed for himself in front of the fireplace, as it seemed that this would be where he slept. He spread the cloak out on the floor and tugged over teh bag with most of his clothes in it to use as a pillow. He pulled his other belongings close around him so that they were not scattered.

He glanced at his laptop again, but he knew that there would be nowhere to charge it in this place. If it was going to be of use to him, he had to save the battery for when a clear opportunity presented itself. So, he simply wrapped himself in the cloak and tried to ignore the hard stone floor beneath him. At least he was warm.

Emil wasn't so cruel, he knew Aaron hadn't bothered to go back to the bedrooms so he would fetch something softer for his little lamb to sleep on, more furs. Like his bags and the food they would appear before him, a nice big pile. Though they didn't smell all that great he was sure they would still be comfortable for him at least. Of course, should Aaron try and do something he would know about it, it was how he knew he wasn't getting up and heading to where he could be more comfortable.

He wasn't allowed to sleep himself but at least he could take care for another for once. His little lamb had been put through enough, and perhaps one day he would get tired enough to kill him, though, Aaron could be smart enough to do that right back. To end this existence...as he too, ended his tormentors.

Again, Aaron jumped in surprise. His nerves were frayed, and this little shock left him trembling even after he realized what it had been and that there was no immediate danger. He stared at the old furs for a time, then sighed and got up to lay them out like a mattress. When he settled back down, the stone floor beneath him was much less noticeable. He kept his head pillowed on his bag, as it smelled familiar, like his apartment and his clothes. It was a tiny comfort, but he would take whatever he could get.

Aaron had not expected he would actually be able to sleep, but the warmth and being all wrapped up in the furs seemed to further his exhaustion. His mind decided it was time for a retreat, and he eventually drifted off. The sleep wasn't deep, as his body was acutely aware that he was still potentially in danger, but it was enough for him to rest.

Now that was Emil's favorite part, when Aaron slept he looked so peaceful. All he wanted to do was run his hands over his prone sleeping form and touch every inch of that soft beautiful skin. Oh how he wouldn't mind sinking himself into him, fangs in his shoulder, drinking slowly from his blood while he claimed that tight hole for himself. It hadn't been that long since he had Aaron but he would again, he would want him, crave him.

That night though, he would resist. Merely, he would watch him until the fire began to die down. Hopefully he could find more wood without having to get more somewhere. Thinking on it, he would head back to that store knowing the body would still be there dead. He'd actually gotten lucky and there was quite a selection of dry wood and lighter fluid. All of which he stole. Deciding to dump the body he would clean up his mess for once and literally dump the body into the trash in pieces. It was a murder after all.

Quietly he would place all the wood beside the fireplace, ignoring the lighter fluid but taking the matches. It would last a little while until he could get more.

When Aaron woke several hours later, he was at first extremely disoriented, unable to remember where he was. He stared at the fire, then at the bags around him and the cloak he was using for a blanket. It all came back to him and he shut his eyes again as if he could will it all away, go back to sleep and not face it. He had no idea for how long he'd slept, as there were no windows to tell if was even light out yet.

His absence would have been noticed by now. His uncle would be trying to call him, at least. Were the police trying to find him to ask about the dead woman, the one Emil had surely killed? They probably thought he had skipped town. If that was the case, would he be considered a fugitive instead of a victim of kidnapping?

Aaron's stomach churned and he curled up into a ball. The feeling of fear combined with hunger pangs, but he didn't want to crawl out of his protective cocoon of furs.

Emil had watched Aaron all night. He figured surely he would have gotten up out of the makeshift bed to go eat something. OR even move for that matter yet he had stayed there. Surely it wasn't' so cold he couldn't leave the safety of his blankets. At night it did get pretty cold but generally during the day it was fine. From what he remembered. Maybe that was just his imagination...recalling events that happened in the past innocently.

Either way his little lamb would just have to get used to things. After all, he was here...what would his little captive do now he wondered. In a sickening way he almost wanted him to run again, just so he could punish him.

Aaron knew he was being watched. He couldn't see Emil, but even back in his apartment he'd known on some level. It was such a familiar feeling and he feared it would start to become a comforting type of familiar. No, no he couldn't lose his mind like that! He had to stay alert, keep his desire for freedom, and take an opportunity when it came.

A partciularly harsh hunger pang nearly made him nauseous enough to gag, and this was the sign that he really did need to get up. He was slow and reluctant about it, and all his limbs felt stiff and sore from all the tension and stress, plus lying perfectly still all night on furs covering a stone floor. He made his way over to the table and the bags still sitting there and chose out some more fruit and a slice of bread. He ate this standing up; he really didn't trust these chairs.

Emil would approach then, coming from down the hall instead of from the shadows. "You didn't have to sleep on the floor all night little lamb" he told him. Nothing punishment worthy but surely, he would. Maybe he would even be so adventurous as to leave a small 'door' open to see if he would wander in. He did have a backyard though it was technically the graveyard. It went on for miles and miles, as it used to be the local graveyard.

"You don't have to eat standing up, I kept everything in here in excellent condition" he said. "Believe me ,the wood will not break" not how well it was constructed. He knew for a fact that older things like that were made to withstand a lot. They'd had some pretty fat guests at the castle and the chair hadn't broken.

The defiant part of him wanted to remain standing, but he stifled it. Cooperating was his best course of action for now, so he pulled out a chair and sat down. He didn't look Emil, though, not even when he spoke. "...Anywhere else would have been too cold, since this is apparently the only fireplace." He said this in a flat voice, somewhat raspy from yesterday's episode and the fact that he hadn't used it since waking.

Of course it was col,d but lucky for his little lamb, Emil had been scouring for a location. "I happened to find ,a bed warmer" he said. "I would rather you sleep in a bed instead of on the cold unforgiving floor" he told him. "Unless...you would prefer sleeping on me" he said as he walked behind his little lamb, running a hand over his chin. He hadn't bitten him, hadn't done anything since he'd been there but he missed the warmth of his flesh...a lot. It was easier when Aaron was at his apartment and he could come and go as he pleased.

Aaron tensed up at Emil's last remark, then more so when the vampire approached and touched him. Oh, heknew it was only a matter of time. He was sure the creature was just trying to lull him into some kind of false sense of security, the he wouldn't keep his distance for long. Aaron vividly remembered the agony of that first night and it made him shudder. He suddenly didn't feel hungry anymore, but he forced himself to keep eating, hoping it would make Emil leave him alone.

Emil however sensed Aaron's tension and would stop touching him so he would leave instead. That way his little lamb could enjoy his meal without getting repulsed oh he knew that all the terrible things he'd done had upset him. He didn't care though, Aaron was his and nothing was going to change that. Better that he eat. Stretching he would stand before the fire, his back turned. He had to wondering what Aaron would do if he pretended to lower his guard.

Aaron took a furtive glance over his shoulder to see where Emil had gone, then resumed eating. He wouldn't question this; he would just be grateful for being left alone for now. He ate slowly, dragging out the small meal until he simple couldn't do so anymore. Once he was finished, he merely sat there staring at the table. He wasn't really sure what he was supposed to do here. He had a couple of books in his luggage that he'd brought just in case he couldn't get power for his laptop on the train, but those would only occupy him for so long. What did people do before electricity and the Internet!?

He realized then how odd it was to be thinking about entertaining himself while being held captive by a creature out of mythology, but on the other hand it made sense that he would want to hink of anything else.

Noting the silence, Emil would glance over at Aaron "You may explore if you wish" he said. There were plenty of rooms that hadn't been seen by another in a long time. He hadn't really blocked too much off. The rooms were meant to be enjoyed of course but he trusted no one but Aaron, even then it was hard to. His lamb didn't trust him at all and for good reason...he had raped and fed on him. But he had enjoyed it quite a bit...it was nice.

He was planning to again, just when Aaron least expected it. That would be fun, to do as he had before save it would be easier now that he had him there at the castle.

The invitation left Aaron torn. He was curious. He was a cautious person but also inquisitive, and this place was a piece of history even if it had become his prison. He had lived and studied in the shadow of this castle for two and a half years, and now he was within it. At the same time, the image of the hanging corpses kept flashing before his mind's eye when he let his guard down. What other horrors would he find here. Surely some places were dark, crawling with spiders, or had crubmbling stone. It had been hundreds of years after all; not everything could hold up.

Perhaps it would be a chance to get away from Emil for awhile, though it was more likely the creature would follow him, even if it was in the shadows. Still, it was something to do and Aaron was curious. So, he slowly rose from the chair, looked around, and took one of the torches from a sconce on the wall. It felt exceedingly strange to be carrying a torch. It seemed a simple thing, but it was something most people never did in their entire lives these days. He was careful to keep his hand away from the flame at the top as he moved off into an adjoining hallway. He also had a fear of getting lost, so he tried ot make note of where he was going and what he passed. He doubted Emil would just leave him lost here, but it could be several hours spent in the dark and cold until his captor decided he'd had enough.

The hallways were better lit up from the torch. Emil could sense where Aaron was anywhere in the castle so he didn't bother following him, just to continue to ease him. Closed wooden doors lay up ahead, easily opened if Aaron wished to enter them. Mostly old rooms, The ones on the hall there weren't anything special, a few did lead further on into the castle in other directions. Turns in the hallway of course did as well but it wasn't quite the same, some rooms just lead to other rooms and most didn't bother looking for the door. A few of them were hidden by old barrels or wardrobes that hadn't been opened.

Aaron wandered through rooms and hallways for an amount of time he could not measure. For a while, he managed to forget his situation and become absorbed in the adventure. He examined old tapestries and faded carvings in old furniture. He admired craftsmanship and got a close look at some primitive machines and tools. He also discovered that modern plumbing had been installed at some point a few decades ago, which was quite the oddity as everything else seemed to be untouched. There were really no signs that there had been someone dwelling within this castle for hundreds of years, other than the strange lack of delapidation.

Eventually, however, the cold started to really get to him and the fascinating exploration could no longer distract him from it. He started making his way back toward the dining hall, following little trail markers he'd left for himself by disturbing patches of dust. It took a while, and a few times he did wonder if he'd taken a wrong turn, but he found his way back.

Emil had been kind of shadowing Aaron about, making sure that he wouldn't get lost on his adventure. That night though, he was going to have his way with him. NO more waiting, no more sneaking around and letting him be comfortable. His little lamb wasn't and the older vampire hadn't fed on him. He had been waiting too but that hunger, that need to feed was really getting to him and all he wanted to do was sink his teeth into that juicy neck and suck the sweet nectar from him.

Stepping out of the shadow of the hall he glanced at Aaron. "Did you have fun exploring?" he mused.

Aaron had come to expect it, but it still startled him when Emil just appeared and said something. He took a slight step back before recovering and continuing his progress toward the table where the groceries still lay; it had been several hours and he was hungry again. "...It was interesting," was all he said, continuing his trend of not looking at his captor when he spoke. Looking at him - talking directly to him - felt too personal.

Emil nodded, as he watched him. Oh his little lamb would need his energy all right because he was tired of waiting for him. He gazed at him with a hungry expression. "Well, I'll leave you to your meal, surely you're hungry you haven't eaten too much today" he said. Not that he remembered what solid meals were like. He headed out and down the hall so that Aaron could see him leaving. Not like he couldn't pounce on him any second.

Aaron glanced at the vampire's retreating form out of the corner of his eye. He wasn't so easily fooled as to feel safe, but perhaps eh wasn't quite as on edge. he didn't feel safe by any means, however.

He selected a few things from the bags, putting together what he could from what was on offer. Many foods were simply impossible to keep this way as they would need to be refridgerated or frozen. He supposed this place might have some kind of cellar for storing vegetables and meat during the winter, but these bags didn't contain anything like that.

He ate slowly and drank quite a bit of water. The air was dry and sleeping near a roaring fire didn't really help. This time around, he actually ate his fill, then went to seat himself on his makeshift mattress to get warmed up. The chill hadn't left him after his exploration.
