The sun was setting over the Citadel, casting shadows across the empire and cloaking the towns beneath it in shadow. The Citadel was a grand building; easily a city in itself. The Citadel was comprised of a single central palace; a grand building that stretched seemingly to the sky, layered into many tiers and even more floors and surrounded by four secondary towers, one in each cardinal direction and designed to fulfill a single purpose, connected to the palace and each other via tens of grand sky bridges that formed a web of connection between the buildings and added critical logistics support, essential for the massive buildings. The Citadel was in a way its own self-contained city, each tier sporting an increasing level of luxury and decadence to provide to its inhabitants from the lower tier for the merchant princes, to the Imperial Palace itself, which made up the top tier of the Citadel.

Of course, despite all this room, there was no room for peasants in the citadel... no, the glowing tiers of the castle were the homes of the noble classes of the empire. the peasantry lived in the great city shadowed at the base of the citadel, the people who toiled endlessly to provide for the noble decadence in the long run. The only inhabitants of the Citadel and more importantly the palace were nobles, guards, and of course the slaves. The citadel was built on the backs of the slaves; owned independently by nobles to attend to their every need, physical, mental and of course sexual. Slaves were in a way a currency among nobles, their tier and privilege was reflected by the number and quality of slaves that they owned, with the emperor of course owning the best of them... They allowed the nobles to live their truly decadent lifestyles, silk and gold and heated rooms... Life was of course... rougher for the slaves... most lived in cramped and squalid quarters in the interior of the central palace, overseen by guards and forced to perform hard labor nearly constantly, working the boilers or hauling resources from level to level. The personal slaves of the nobility had it easier, at least on the surface... some nobles liked to dress their slaves up in finery and some even fed them fairly well, but life as a noble's... pet, actually was not as glamorous as it would seem, abuse was rampant, and if there were to be an 'accident' where a young slave was strangled to death, or worse, the guards wouldn't so much as bat an eye... slaves were utterly expendable, the noble could simply acquire more so slaves were forced to be obedient or face unpleasant fates.

Lyn was one of those slaves, born and raised and passed from master to master until she had come to rest with the newest of those masters... a noble known as Silver Fox. She signed, watching the sun slowly dip behind the mountains in the distance. Her new owner's home was actually in a pretty nice location despite being on a lower tier than the old one... the position was on the west face just to the side of the shadow of the old Guard Barracks, perfect for watching the sun's set over the mountains that guarded the kingdom from invaders. With the sun setting slaves all over the palace were beginning to light lanterns in their owner's households, making the citadel shine with golden light. It was beautiful really, but only a mask for the filth that lie just under the surface. Lyn had already lit all the lanterns in her new owner's household, one of the tasks that the young woman had been assigned by her new mistress, and doing it early meant she still had some time to watch the sunset before the mistress arrived. Currently she was alone, meaning she could actually relax, no having to keep up the appearances of the obedient slave girl. The young woman was leaning on the railing of the balcony, only occasionally moving to fidget with her outfit or hair to make herself presentable. She was beautiful, really, with an attractive, slender face and large, almond shaped eyes that shone like amethysts framed by silken black hair, worn shoulder-length and with no decorations or ornaments and parted on the right only by one of her long, pointed ears. Around her slender neck was a thick black collar, an artifact from her old mistress, but one that signified that she was owned and therefor couldn't just be taken by the guards or other nobles... at least without permission.

The slave girl was a petite one, young and supple she was physically an ideal slave... indeed her mistress had gotten away with her for a steal, swooping in to snatch her away before any others even knew she was for sale... Her previous mistress had been murdered, and rumors were that she had been murdered by none other than the Demon Assassin of the rebellion, her body butchered and hung by the Demon Assassin's chains despite her compliment of personal guards and skill in the martial arts. It had been a steal really, as the slave's beauty would normally ensure that only the highest of nobility might be able to afford her under normal circumstances. The girl sighed and stepped back, stretching and adjusting her new clothes... she had only been wearing this outfit for a couple days now, but almost liked it. Certainly it was better than the rags her last mistress made her wear...

The clothing was tailored to her, designed to show off her form more than anything. It was simple, but elegant, colored a dark purple to match the elegant violets of her eyes and accented with golden designs and more importantly hugged her shape to emphasize her slender waist and lovely hips. It was comprised of a simple dress that covered most of her torso, one that normally would expose the girl's cleavage, though she was not terribly well endowed so the dress had been instead tightened to emphasize her slender build, fastened to her with a wide black sash wrapped around her waist and belly, leaving the lower portion of the dress cut high to reveal her lovely legs clad in black thigh high stockings. She wore no shoes, so she made almost no noise when she turned around and padded through the quarters.

Mistress fox had much smaller quarters than her last mistress, who sported a three-floor affair on the upper tiers... of course while she was still alive. Fox had a nice place still though, far better than any servant's qurters and decorated to her personal tastes. Indeed though she didn't seem to be one of the highest class of nobles she seemed more... sensible? This one seemed to treat her better too... Mistress Ava had been... abusive... towards the timid girl, forcing her to perform demeaning tasks while wearing nearly nothing and generally taking out her frustrations on her and her other young slaves. She was a bitter and cruel old woman and certainly no one was going to miss her. Lyn was actually the one who had found her, and part of the reason why she had gone for so cheap... The Guards had taken her away that night after having been drawn by her screams. Fox herself likely remembered seeing the traumatized expression in her eyes, she had been sold as 'broken goods', though in the days since, the girl had seemed to calm down, though she still cringed if Fox had so much as raised her voice towards her. The girl tucked away the bitter thought while she walked away from the balcony through the dining room and main hallway, finally stopping at the entrance to the quarters and straightening up her clothing. The lithe thing padded quickly to the door, taking her place on one of the pillows by the door to wait for her mistress to arrive. Shen she did she would find the girl resting on her knees with her eyes down... as Ava had required of her.

"Welcome Home Mistress." She began, a weary smile touching her beautiful features. Those amethyst eyes of hers shifted down while she made her report, making sure to keep her eyes low and avoid eye contact as she always did whenever she spoke to her new mistress, looking as uncomfortable as ever. "I dusted the furniture and prepared tea as you requested mistress, I even lit the lanterns tonight" She glanced up through her bangs to gauge her reaction, she still wasn't sure how Fox operated. Was she the type to not allow her slave to sleep until dismissed like her last mistress? Or would she be pleased with the girl's work? Lyn did not actually have many useful skills, she was a terrible cook and was only decent at cleaning... She could dance, and was decent with a needle but that was about it, at least these things Fox could find pretty easily. The girl looked up at the woman, waiting for her reply.

The Citadel ruled over an insular kingdom that was reclusive from the rest of the world, except when it came to little conquests of fancies that lasted as long as the name implied. Seeing how hidden away and exclusive it was, it should probably come as no surprise that such a policy was further implemented inside its own borders where its own people separated themselves further from into castes and sometimes even castes within them. It was perhaps a wonder that the kingdom managed to function for several centuries as it did, where separated states could be found within its own people and the internal bureaucracy. That should be probably be expected of any kingdom of vast power, thought what was a shining beacon of civilization was easily rotting from within. This rot didn't come from the lower peasants or the slaves that were forced into servitude, but the nobles were cared little for the subjects that they were ruling over. All of their hard work and toils when upwards to the inhabitants of the citadel and little was given back in return. Seeing the kingdom had little trouble invaders, the soldiers what were guarding the outskirts and the land beyond almost became a formality than anything else. There might have been a golden age at some point in the kingdom's history where the nobility cared for its peasantry and fought barbarians who encroached on its borders, an age where there were honourable nobles and great heroes. However, when compared to the current age, the Citadel today was a far cry from the golden bastion of greatness the legends the history texts dubbed it to be. If an outside were to attempt to make the connection of the present and the past together, they might have scarcely found a connection. The architecture might have been the same, but the legendary inhabitants had long vacated and now the nobles of today have taken residence in the Citadel.

The nobles of the Citadel lived in a lifestyle what couldn't be explained merely with words that detailed their luxury or comfort. If anything, their levels were a little more complicated with a few dark twists and subtle intricacy. Funny enough, regardless of how complex and high maintenance their lifestyle was, it really amounted to nothing. It had merely become self-absorbed and petty. After several decades of rule, the purpose of the nobles had grown stagnant and lax, only concerned to seeing to its own pleasures than the betterment of the kingdom as a whole. Seeing as there were little threats and little incentive to expand outside of its lands, it was perhaps on par for the course. The whole kingdom might have lived out several centuries in peace. However, the nobles grew more proud and exclusive, which bred a mentality that gave them a sense of entitlement from their lineage and status. They began to exploit the peasants below. The Emperor at the time as resistant to this change, but the courts had far marginalized his power and soon enough there was an emperor who fell prey to the same mindset by influence. From there, the nobles descend from a high standing to a lowly circle of desires that only took and gave nothing back.

One of these nobles would be Silver Fox, who is a woman who fits within a few of those conventions as a noble while bearing a few exceptions of her own. Her grandmother was one of the slaves who had been forced into servitude in the Citadel but as luck would have it, her child was accepted into the ranks of the nobility by a benevolent father. It was perhaps one of the rare shows of mercy granted to someone from the upper echelons of the Citadel, not something unheard of but an extremely rare gesture that comes rarer than some of the most expensive gems in the kingdom. Now a descendant, Silver Fox functions fully as a noble, despite her lineage. She might have as high of a standing as her peers, but her service grants her the rank of a noble with all of the privileges that come with it. Hardly one who squandered herself solely in the privileges of her rank, Silver Fox was rather active in the practice of martial arts and the manipulation of internal energies to give her extraordinary power. She went above and beyond many other nobles, many who have become lazy and lethargic with their own betterment nowadays, and quite capable of taking care of herself without relying on the guards too much. Her skills with the sword were strong and she maintained a training regimen that maintained both her lovely form and grace, much like the heroes of the past. However, that wasn't to say that her shred of personal discipline allowed her to be above those wiles that were found in the other nobles. Silver Fox believed a bit in moderation, yet there were moments of indulgence that would surface time to time. As any fox would find herself in a situation, she wasn't one to deny her hunger. Whether that came in form pleasures of the flesh, or in other ways, she had partaken on some occasions.

While the slaves were typically dressed in plain shades of black or white, sometimes in rare drab colours, more vibrant and appealing colours in clothes were solely reserved for the expensive silks that were worn by the ruling classes of the Citadel. Sometimes a noble could be caught wearing as much as a slave, given the lack of shame even when given everything sometimes, but the freedom of colours would always be evident among them to truly make that gap in privilege known. Silver Fox herself favoured a rosy red dress with long fashionable sleeves that gave more flutter in her movements, accented with bits of purple and light blue. The dress was cut with a high slit that gave a tantalizing view of her tanned toned legs and enticing hips. She wore white knee-high stockings on her legs to further accentuate the show of flesh. Her attractive form training was obvious, earning her a lovely hour glass former with a toned body. Her notable cleavage was further enhanced by her choice of dress.

Even among the nobility, Silver Fox was seen as a great beauty among her people. However, instead of beauty in the classical sense, she was a little more unusual. She could be compared to a lotus in many ways, bearing a beauty that is more exotic and strange in many ways, which gave her an appeal that couldn't be replicated by many any other nobles among her kind. Admittedly her blood lineage had been mired and tainted from abuse of carnal pleasures and some strange breeding, yet she seemed to benefit well from the end result that made her into a unique beauty. Her hair was naturally silver, which earned her moniker, long and fashioned with a fashionable intricate headdress only afforded by those of her status. She had soft grey eyes, which gave a bold impression with the way it held attention. There was a blue flower worn on the hip of her dress, which noted her as an 'extraordinary woman'. It was a show of status within her caste that was proud of and something she found that detracted little from her appeal among both the men and women.

Being an extraordinary woman meant that she had demanding and specific tastes. Not just any slave would do to appease her, as any capable beauty was easily accessed by someone as resourceful and connected as her. Instead, her tasted laid more with exotic and foreign beauty from the land beyond. Excursions beyond the kingdom were rare and the trade only trickled in such beauties few at a time. Lyn easily earned her attention long before the unfortunate incident with her mistress. There would be many times where Fox would cast her a wanting gaze from her bold eyes, just waiting her to be unattended so that she could steal her for a moment. She was wanting to buy her from her mistress, but her offers was rejected. It was perhaps her good fortune that she was given a second chance to bid on Lyn when her contract was offered for sale after the untimely death of her keeper. While Fox could look further into the auspicious circumstances, she was more interested in scoping Lyn up before it was too lake. She knew that many other nobles had her tastes and she had to be assertive to get what she wanted. Trading in coins and some carnal favours, she was able to procure Lyn right under the noses of the other nobles.

Silver Fox had just finished a day at court and returned home for the evening just as the city was preparing to shift into a new phase that was ushered in by the night. Seeing her at the door brought a pleased smile on her lips, but that was something expected of a pet. She would get no extra reward or attention for doing what was expected of her, if that was she was after. Fox knew that not all slaves were broken completely into pet and Lyn was likely trying to earn her favour, a game she was willing to play for now. She placed her sword at the door and took off her wooden sandals with a soft yawn. "Mmm, that's good." Her reply came nonchalantly as she moved past her while stretching her arms, her hips moving with a small suggestive stance. Before she got too far into the house to make her way to her favourite chair, she turned her head slightly to regard the slave behind her with a slight smirk. "Tea would be good, as anything else nice you could do. You know more than that, right?"
