Its ten years in the future and wars have continued just like they always have. These conflicts effect everyone in very different ways, from the anti-war protesters who picket the department of defence to the soldiers themselves fighting for their lives on foreign soils. Of course, then there are those who stand to profit off of the bloodshed, the warmongers, arms dealers, and military contracters.

Kris is a 25 year old billionair who is the direct heir of one of the most prominent arms developers on the planet,Global Industries. Unfortunatly he has been the recipient of over 300 death threats since he first took over his fathers company 2 years ago. it is because of these letters, emails, and phone calls that he has been forced to enhance his security and hire a personal bodyguard. Enter one Lauren Bailsome a beautiful, though no less deadly woman who has pledged her life to protect his.

Our story begins on the return trip from a board meeting, which ended with yet another threat.

Kris sat in the center of the large bench seat that lay in the back of his company limo. His teeth were clenched and in his hand was a crumpled piece of paper. The words "Cut your balls off" were just visible peeking out of one of the large wrinkles. Running a hand through his thick brown hair he closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the headrest. The headache that had started near the end of the 6 hour meeting was just starting its final assault.

"Those damn yuppies, they condem us for the things we do even though our last patent is the most sophisticated medical drone in exhistance, and our new prototype body armor is expected to prolong a soldiers lifespan by a full ten minuites when under heavy fire! They don't give a rats ass that the things that I make keep their sons and daughters safe, and let them sleep at night!"

Lauren sat in the passengers seat of a black vehicle behind Kris' limousine. There were several people protecting him. She was the only female, and easily, the least fit for the job... apparently.

While large, bald headed, super-strong men made up the majority of his protection squad, Lauren always seemed the most tranquil, and the least emotional in any case.

She looked over at the driver and touched her earpiece. "This is bodyguard number six. I repeat, number six." She looked out towards Kris' limousine, then the escort car in front of him. "We're heading back to his house." She released her earpiece and sat back. "I should have been in the limousine with him. That limo is an easy target."

"Relax yourself Bailsome. He'll be okay."

"Sure. When an RPG hits that limo, you can tell that to his ghost."

The large stretch pulled into the small culdesac that was the driveway to Kris's mansion. A large gate yawned open at the end of the circle, as the limo and the two black sedans pulled through the gate slid back across the the entrance to the small road effectivly sealing it off from the outside. A security guard stepped from the small shack that oversaw the operation of the gate, and walked to the end, shining a large flashlight at the gate he made sure that the latch of the gate had sunk into its dock that was attached to a large marble pillar that marked the other side of the road. Content with the condition of the gate the guard looked up and made a quick flash of the light through the bars towards a large black van that sat silently at the intersection to the culdesac. Walking back to the shack the guard watched the limo and its escorts make their way up the winding driveway towards the large house in the distance.

Lauren was the first to exit the cars once the entered their "safe zone" She waited patiently for Kris to exit his vehicle, another bodyguard opening the door for him.

"Master Kris, we've arrived." He said nodding towards Lauren. Lauren stood straight along side a second guard, waiting for Kris' command, any command. She was almost anxious, knowing that this protection was for show, these men would get eaten alive if a serious threat emerged.

Stepping from his limo Kris found himself looking over the 6 guards that he had hired to guard him personally, another twenty lay inside the house and protrolling the grounds. He made an almost imperseptible sigh, the only person who even looked like she knew what she was doing was the newest of his guards a woman named Lauren. Turning away from his entourage he headed towards the front doors, stopping for a moment he turned back to the men, and woman who was tasked with watching over his well being. "Its been a long day, get some chow and relax for a bit, I'll summon you all if I need you"

Back at the gate guard house the sound of a vehicle could be heard coming down the culdesac. The same dark van that had been parked at the intersection pulled towards the gate, the driver was careful to keep the engine as close to idle as possible and to keep the lights off.

Lauren nodded. "Yes sir." Her eyes narrowed as she walked past him and back outside. She looked at the limousine and inspected it. Searching for sensor bugs, tracking devices, or bombs. She noticed the guard out there, but didn't speak to him. She looked behind the seats and thought of checking under the vehicle too. Then she looked out to the gates, and back at the guard.

Kris watched Lauren walk back outside, he wondered if she had spent time in the military since she seemed much more professional with her job then the other men that had been hired, while the others went inside to warm up and get some food he went upstairs to his study.

Lauren gave the guard a long, hard stare. The thin hairs on the back of her neck seemed to stand for some reason. "Stay on watch." She said calmly, walking past the guard, caring little for his response. She immediately walked back into Kris' mansion and moved to the kitchen to see if Kris was there. "Where is he?" She asked, as a guard dug his face into a chicken sandwich. "Who??" Lauren's right eye twitched, the guard's mouth was full. "Kris. Where is Kris?" "Oh. I'm not sure. He asked us to relax. Why don't you have a..." Lauren turned around and started walking away.

Closing the large double doors that lead into his study behind him Kris walked over cool hardwood floors and pulled his padded armchair away from the desk, sitting down he reached uder the desk and pressed a small button that was placed on the underside of the desktop. A large portion of the desk itself raised up with the sound of hydrolics, a computers screen attached to the underside of the portion winked on as the risen desktop clicked into place, A smaller rectangular section flipped up revealing a black keyboard.

There was a sturdy, hard knock at his door, without a dout a guard, or someone wanting to kill him. Lauren wasn't really the type to just barge in on his personal time. She knew about men, what they do, alone, behind closed doors, and she would be ashamed of herself and probably resign if she ever had the misfortune of having to deal with the humiliation of catching him masturbating or even having sexual afairs with a person or persons of his choosing, so she knocked.

Looking towards the door after hearing the knock, kris opened a small drawer on the right side of the desk and pulled a small black 9mm pistol, flicking the safety off he holds it down by his legs under the top of the desk out of sight. "Come" he announces as he straightens up in his chair.

Lauren was also thinking that perhaps there was someone in there, she was ready to draw, but her hands were steady, so she wasn't worried much. She peeked inside and entered slowly. "You're here. I'm sorry to bother you. I had a bad feeling about something." She said without much emotion, but the concern was there. She was paid, probably the least out of his six closest guards. She didn't care much for that. She was there to keep someone alive. That's more than any check could give her.

"A bad feeling?" Pulling the 9mil from under the desk he placed it next to the computer screen. "Well as you can see im not completely helpless, but to tell you the truth I have been feeling slightly on edge since I got home as well, though I just chocked it up to the death threat I recieved tonight." motioning her over he shows her the screen, a large number of smaller screens were opened within the monitor, each showed a different part of the house and grounds. "These are all the security cameras known to you guards, and a few that you are unaware of... Anyway see that black van by the front gate?" he pressed his finger to one of the smaller screens, it instantly extended over the others till it was filling the monitor. "I ran a search of the plates, that vehicle is stolen."

pushing his chair out Chris started to get up. "Hey hold on a second Lauren, there is a small armory in the northern wing of the basement, get the other guards, head down and arm yourselves" Pushing the chair back under the desk he picked up the pistol and tucked it into the waistband of his trousers. "Im not sure who those people are, and in fact they may not even be heading here, it may just be a coincidence that they are in the same neighborhood as this compound, but its still a good idea to be prepared."

Lauren didn't stop, or turn, and in truth, didn't listen. His guards were for the most part, mediocore. They wouldn't stand a chance against a plotted assassination, or a raid for that matter. She felt this was upon herself, and she thought she stood better chances without the chance of one of her "companions" tagging her behind her back by mistake.

She was classic in every aspect of the bodyguard. Two Glocks were her weapon of choice with a hidden surprise for those who deserved it. She was hired to keep a man alive. In other words, prevent God from taking him away too early.

She paused and thought about it a moment, then returned to where some of the guards were resting. "I need a couple of you. There is a mysterious vehicle outside and it's reportedly stolen. Anyone want to come?"

None answered, "Little girl, chill the hell out, you must have some odd bug crawling up your ass, all you've done is given everyone bad looks and taken the role of leader. So sincerely, shut the fuck up."

Lauren's fingers twitched. "Fine." She walked outside, followed by one guard who seemed to believe her, and also wants to sleep with her like nobody's business.

Chris watched her go without a word to his advise, it ticked him off to no end but in truth she was the bodyguard and knew what she was doing. Sighing he ran a hand through his shaggy brown hair and closed the door and locked it behind her. He would stay in the study until this situation was solved. Walking back to his desk he touched the screen to bring up the different cameras and settled in to keep overwatch.

Lauren walked out with another guard as they approached the one who was on outside guard. "Who are those people in that black car?" She asked calmly. "The vehicle is stolen, they've been there since we arrived, and quite honestly, I don't remember your face. Who are they, and spare yourself a bullet." The guard behind her didn't know what she was talking about, but to think of it, he hadn't seen much of this guard before either.

Leaning back in his seat, and threading his fingers together Chris leaned his head back against the headrest of the chair and stared up at the ceiling. He was starting to get really sick of this, It was the sixth time in the last three years that his compound had been put on high alert. Most of the time it was for nothing since the threats usually led to nothing, but twice that wasn't the case, and just six months ago this shit had cost him his head of security, a good man and a good friend.

Lauren frowned at the guard, who seemingly began to jumble around words. From his room, Kris saw men exit the vehicle. There was about a dozen, if not more, each equipped with powerful assault rifles. Lauren was still looking at the mysterious worker, whom Kris never remembered hiring.

Squinting in the glare that the study lights made on the large bay window, Kris noticed a dark shadow darting behind a tree just outside of the front gate, moments later that same shadow appeared straddling the top of the large stone wall that surrounded the compound, the top of which was supposed to be ringed in razor wire. "Damnit looks like this makes three times" Turning from the window he grabbed a walkie off of the desk and dialed in Laurens personal channel. "Lauren come in this is Kris" While he was waiting for a response he picked up a small black controller and shut off the lights in the study. As he was plunged into darkness he double checked his small 9mm and listened to the soft crackleing of the static coming from the walkie.

Lauren's eyes widened, then she turned, walking towards the bundles of men coming in her direction, as the guard behind her tried to draw his gun, Lauren shot him without looking, hitting him in the throat.

That shot alerted many of the guards, whom started to scramble trying to find Kris. "I'll be right up sir. Fourty-five seconds maximum." She looked at the guard with her.

"You shot him!" He screamed, "Check him, he's not ours. Go upstairs, Kris needs you."

He swallowed and turned away, running up to where Kris was hiding. Lauren had some fools to kill.

Standing in front of the large window in his office Kris was given a perfect view of the insuing chaos that began with Lauren gunning down what most would believe to be one of his own guards, even he had no idea the man was a spy since the thorough backround checks he had done on all of his guards turned up absolutely nothing.
Looking down at the courtyard his ears picked up a slightly odd whistleing sound, suddenly the window in front of him spidered outward in a series of large cracks which eminated from a large impact point. "Son of a...." Kris yelled, diving out of the way and slamming his back up against the wall just to the left as a second bullet destroyed the window all together and buried itself in the wall behind his desk. "Great they have snipers too?!"

Lauren walked towards the coming squad of enemies and kept her guns held high. Kris wasn't in a good situation and she didn't want to waste time on novices. She ran opposite the black van and began to rain down on them. Using a complex moving pattern, keeping herself moving quickly, and using all the possible cover she could find, it didn't take long before the assailants were questioning their own movements.

As bodyguards rushed out to help her, Lauren hit two men in their knees, dropping them immediately. She replaced the ammunition in her guns and rushed upstairs. "Knock these assholes down! I'm going to find Kris!" She yelled, re-entering his home, glad that the lights were out. She heard the window's crash and hoped that her patron wasn't hurt or killed. She rushed into his room and tried to find him. She noticed the targets coming over her chest and head, but for some reason, she froze in place.
