It was the summer and that meant besides online courses and her part time job at Starbucks she had more free time. Free time meant lounging around the house and doing absolutely nothing productive which she was fine with. The younger female was just turning eighteen and lived with her parents. She had been adopted when she was a toddler. The family had re-named her Lilo as one of her favorite Disney's movies was Lilo & Stitch. It was also a Hawaiian name and the family was natives from there.

She had very few memories of being a baby and being fostered but she had been told she was abused. They had never told her details and she never asked. She had signs of depression, which she figured was side effects from what ever had happened but she willingly met with therapist and was very functioning. Her parents had spoiled her and she graduated high school earlier and was taking college courses, was working, they couldn’t ask for more.

There son who was older and lived on his own was famous because of the likes of an online website called YouTube. He was known as Markipler. He had started the videos when he was a teenager living at home and it had escalated from there. He now made a decent living off of it and lived in California where he connected with a lot of other famous YouTube vloggers.

Lilo had grown up to be rather close to Mark. He had been very protective and was basically her only best friend. Lilo of course made friends but she didn’t go out of her way to be social or connect outside of the family. Mark had even escorted Lilo to her prom, he didn’t actually attend but he had taken her and picked her up and gone to the after lock in party. Lilo didn’t have a date so she went with a couple of girl friends. Those were the kind of memories she had of Mark.

Mark had moved out when she was twelve to move across country to Calfornia but he often kept in contact and let her visit but as they both grew older and he got busier doing vid-cons and fundraisers, she gave him distance.

Lilo had hobbies like drawing, painting, dancing and writing. She role played as a way to escape and for the most part wrote action or fantasy type of role plays, she loved creating worlds and creating rpg games but she had privately been writing a romantic fan-fiction between a fan and her brother Markiplier. She had uploaded it onto fan-fiction.net but didn’t realize she had made it public. It had a lot of hits and positive feedback of people begging for more chapters. The fan-fiction blossomed from a short story to a novel in the matter of a few months. The fan-fiction was named after one of her favorite songs from another YouTuber named Flula, I Want To Touch You. The song was epic and a little creepy in loving somebody so it fit the fan-fic perfectly.

It consisted of a fostered child who found love in playing video games and living online and happened to be a fan of Markiplier. She ended up saving up enough money to go to vid-con and was able to meet him in person. Out of all the fans in the world something about her clumsiness and shyness attracted him and he offered to take her out to dinner cl and from that point the story built into a relationship. The chapters ended with her writing steamy poetic chapters of them being intimate. Her fan-fiction had gotten so famous people on deviant art were submitting fan-fiction art of the role-play and people were making music videos. She was flattered but very embarrassed and prayed to god that Mark never found out. He couldn’t find out. It would ruin the family. So she had gone out of her way to change her e-mail and contact information to a fake identity.

What she didn’t know is her brother was very active in his fans and there online community. He knew a lot of women loved him and fan-girled over him. He loved the attention, he respected the culture and often took pride in reading stories, parodies, he loved it, as well as fan-art and video collaborations. He did what he did because of the fans. So of course he would be directed to this new fan-fiction that was blowing up. Lilo would have no idea as she as doing homework that her brother was reading her fan-fiction.

I want to touch you
On your face and your body and your heart as well
I want to touch you
Will you touch me in return?

Mark was, as ever, playing video games. Perhaps his favourite thing in the world. Well, other than seeing other people's happy comments on his videos. In fact he had just finished recording a let's play of the recent update to Ark Survival Evolved. That was what all the youtubers were playing at the moment, and Mark as ever was keen to express his own opinion on the game. His server was going well and his new-found tribe was flourishing thanks to his legion of dedicated fans. Always good to famous. If he was honest, he quite liked being at the top of the proverbial pyramid. Still, it did wear at times.

"Alright guys, that'll be all for tonight. Check my blog for all the latest on Ark. Hope you liked the video, hit that like button if you did and subscribe for more updates. Thanks for watching," he signed off, hitting the 'stop record' hotkey on his keyboard and signing out of the game. Mark quickly got out of his chair to stretch. That had been a long run, time for something to drink.

His apartment was quite spacious thanks to the money he had made from his videos, though it wasn't huge. After all, he was one man. He didn't need too much. Still, that didn't matter right now. He descended to the kitchen, made himself a cup of coffee then climbed back up to his rig to browse his emails. Mark got quite a few on his public email address, so many he rarely checked it. Instead he checked his private email, the one he only gave out to his friends and family. He scrolled to the top and picked up one from his friend, simply entitled "Hey, what's up?"

Mark read the email, a letter from his friend asking him how he was doing and telling him about a new fanfiction which starred, well, him. That brought a smile to his face. He always liked it when fans wrote fanfiction of him. The fact that he had inspired a creative work was especially pleasing. After all, he had clearly made them happy and now they were giving something back, that always made him smile. If he had all the money in the world, he wouldn't give it up for his loyal fanbase. After all, he did what he did for them. Bringing joy to their world was what he lived for.

Well, he had a little free time. He followed the link, and read the fanfiction.

It had certainly received plenty of praise, true. Mark thought it deserved every bit of it. The story was solid, the writing was top quality and the characterisation was spot on. The tale of how he fell in love with foster child, a fan of his no less. Perhaps a little vane, but that didn't matter. It was very well done. In fact, he admired their dedication to write something so beautiful.

That was that then. He had to find out who wrote it.

A few discreet inquiries later he had found out that whoever it was had gone to ground, putting in fake details so as to avoid the attention. Noble, perhaps, but Mark thought they might just have been scared off by the publicity. With some support, he could turn them around and give them the love they deserved. After all, if she was that good he would be very interested in doing a V-Log with her, or a sketch or two. That ought to give her a much needed signal boost, and the attention she deserved. Not to mention, the chance to meet her hero. Who knew, maybe she even felt the way she did in the fan fiction. That would be nice, Mark smiled at that.

At least... he was assuming it was a girl...

Still, the evening went on and Mark was still as his computer, making more inquiries. He even emailed a hacker friend who he knew he could trust to find out where the fanfiction had come from, tracking down the IP address and the route protocols. Such details went over Mark's head of course, and it could be construed as creepy, though his intentions were noble. He merely wanted to help, and if that meant bending a few ethical grey areas when it came to computer hacking, then so be it.

His hacker friend came back with an address, which surprised him quite a bit. The address of his adoptive sister.

Thankfully, his hacker friend had no idea who lived there or if there was a connection. All he knew was an address. At least that was covered. It could be very embarrassing to reveal that it was his sister who had written a romance story about him. An adoptive sister of course, but still.

Worse still, Mark had always had repressed feelings towards Lilo, his adoptive sister. In a perfect world, well, he would have made his feelings known long ago. Being forced into the role of the big brother though had pushed those feelings down. Well, not quite. He had still felt them and in many ways he still had them. He couldn't express them though, no way. Not only would that be extremely risky, but it would cause a storm amongst the family no matter what they did. It had irritated him throughout his childhood that he had to content himself with being the big brother. He had always wanted to be more.

Still, if Lilo had written this. What did that mean? He still wanted to do sketches with her and help her talent shine, especially now that he knew who it was. Did that mean that she also had these feelings? It was as close to a thumbs up as he had ever seen, even when he had escorted her to the prom she'd never hinted at such feelings. Then how could she, Lilo was in the same position as he was.

He had to risk it. Didn't he? He had to know if they could be together. She had to know how he felt, even if it might cause a rift in the family. He'd always liked her, even loved her. But how to express that? He had never been great at talking to girls. Well, first things first. He had to get her over here first.

Mark fired up his personal email and sent his adoptive sister a message, asking to meet. "Hey Lilo," he began. "Haven't seen each other in ages. I'd love to meet up. Do you have some free time coming up? It'd be great to have you over for a few days. We should catch up." He signed off with his usual brief, "Mark." After reading that fanfiction, putting 'love' was a little much. He was still coming to terms with it. Still, the email was sent to her private email. She'd no doubt get it soon. He needed to eat. Thus, he wandered back to the kitchen to catch a late dinner, and to wait for her response.

Lilo was surfing the net while listening to music, she always kept a tab up with her personal e-mail logged in. She saw it flash a notification and she clicked on the tab to see she had received a message from Mark. Her heartbeat skipped and she got wide eyed. It wasn’t uncommon for him to contact via e-mail but it had been a little while and with her story blowing up on the Internet it was a little inconvenient to hear from him. She clicked on the e-mail and read the short message. She leaned back in her desk chair groaning. He randomly wanted to see her. That meant she would have to fly out to see him or he would have to come home. Why did he want to see me now she thought stressed?

It was dangerous to be around him when her fan-fiction was blowing up everywhere. She couldn’t let Mark she was author. She would have a nervous break down if she knew that Mark already knew who his biggest fan was. Nor did the young female have any idea that Mark had repressed feelings, that he had forced himself growing up to be her big brother. That reading her fan-fiction had made him question his feelings again, that maybe perhaps it had turned him on? But her goal was to supposedly she thought never let him find out.

She sat forward quickly typing a message.

Mark,

Hey….so random to hear from you! I’m guessing you’ve been busy with your vids and conventions. I really hate to be a bummer but with my online classes and work its kind of impossible for me to get away. I apologize. I miss you though. I hope your doing well.

Love your lil sis
Lilo ^_^

Lilo sent the e-mail and realized that it might occur to him she was purposely avoiding him. She was doing online classes and could call off work or request off. She leaned back in her desk chair groaning out in frustration. She decided to check her fake e-mail and of course had tons of feed back and replies, mostly compliments and request. She browsed through some of fan-work and saw a link of a video someone had made. She knew she probably shouldn’t watch it, hell he had just e-mailed but she couldn’t resist and clicked the link.

Lilo sat back and watched it liking the song and sighed rolling her eyes while smiling. She was amazed at what fans would do. It was just random clips to the music but seeing Mark again made her blushed and look away from the screen. She closed her eye’s feeling an incredible amount of stress.

Mark's dinner wasn't the best in the world, but it wasn't the worst either. Pasta with beef and chicken, as well as a nice cream sauce. He was no cook of course, but he always thought eating healthily was good. Pasta wasn't too bad, and the meat held protein. A little bit of greens and it was good to go. He switched on the TV, watching the late news broadcast for a while as he ate. It became a ritual of his. Every night he would sit here by himself and eat his dinner watching the news. A legacy of his old life at home.

He had always sat down to dinner with his adoptive sister back at home, and the family. It became their little thing to do to spend time together and catch up on the day, relate their stories and experiences. It was nice. Sometimes he would even be alone with his sister. The parents would go out the house on work or to see friends, or even on a getaway leaving him to look after her. To him it was the closest thing he'd had to a date with her.

Numerous times he would sit across from her, talking to her and making polite conversation. Asking about her day and talking about her problems, if she had them. Indeed, forced politeness. Of course he'd wanted to tell her how pretty her hair was or how sweet her smile was. He never could, and that frustrated him no end. He was the big brother, so he looked after her.

Now a fan fic of hers had changed the game. Sitting there and thinking of her he knew that he wanted her. Mark just had to get to her. Somehow. She at least needed to know how he felt. He'd lived with these feelings for so long, he had almost forgotten it. Now it was like a fire had been lit inside him. Her fiction had been great, arousing even. This though, was real.

After he was done he placed the dishes to be washed up and walked upstairs to his rig once more to open up his email. He had figured he might have to wait a little, but his face lit up as he saw an email from her.

Mark quickly read the email, a little disheartened at the response. Well, he'd just have to try a little harder. If her story could be believed she wanted him, he just had to convince her to take the leap. He typed back.

"Hey Lilo,

Yeah I've been pretty busy. I had a convention a few days ago and I still haven't quite recovered. It's gonna take a while to get through all my emails. Sorry to hear you're busy though. You sure you can't get a day or two off? It's just been such a long time and I was hoping now that I have a bit of a break coming we could catch up. Awful lonely in California at times. I have friends over but, well, it's never quite the same. I miss you too. Things are okay, I'm just lonely.

Still, I don't mind flying over if you're too busy. Just for a day or two, I'd be no trouble.

Love Mark."

He'd gotten over his little spat with using 'love' at the end there. Sister or not, he did still love her, even if he wanted so much to be allowed to love her more. Should he be doing this? Every impulse was a mixed message, but he did it anyway and hit send. Perhaps she was avoiding him, embarrassed? That would be just like her. Still, he wanted her to know. She needed to know.

Lilo had gotten another notification and saw that her brother had already written a reply. She leaned forward eagerly reading his message and could feel his disappointment. His message indicated that he really wanted to spend some time with her and she groaned out in frustration shaking her head. She couldn’t see him right now. Now this damn fan-fiction blowing up everywhere, not with the risk they he might find out and her reputation would be ruined, her family would be disgusted and maybe even disown her. So many over-dramatic horrible thoughts raced through her head. Hitting reply she quickly starting typing a message back, making excuses, saying anything she could to kindly get him to leave her alone.

Mark,

I just can’t right now. It just isn’t a good time at all. Maybe in a few months. I’m just overwhelmed with a lot at the moment. I miss you as well.

Love wittle,
Lilo

Lilo noticed how in his last message he wrote love as an ending greeting which wasn’t as playful as he normally kept it like Love ya big bro or something like that. She hit sent and didn’t realize Mark would purposely know she was avoiding him, purposely scared of him finding out what she wrote that he already knew and didn’t care. That it had made him realize his buried feelings still existed, that out of all the girls he could have he was flattered knowing his baby sister had wanted him.

Lilo felt like crying and was so stressed. She wanted to delete any trace of the fan-fiction but she knew fans had already copied it and it was traveling fast. In time she knew it would die down. She stared at a picture she had of her and Mark, well one of many, she had a whole clipboard of decorated pictures of growing up with Mark. One of them was when they often visited Hawaii where they grew up. Lilo was on Mark’s back smiling as he was about to give her a piggy back ride.

Mark went about his business for the rest of the evening after that. He had a shower and set about editing his latest let's play. Of course, those kinds of videos didn't really require much editing, though he needed to put a few things on there, at the end and beginnings mostly. It was a short job, but a necessary one. He cleaned up the audio a little, added a transition here and there and it was done. The first part of his Ark Let's play was being uploaded to the web. Always quite a quick process, though to convert the whole thing to 1080p took time. He'd leave that going for an hour or two.

Once that was done he checked his email. Well, that wasn't good. His sister had elected to stay, saying she was overloaded with stuff to do. He frowned at that. Perhaps she was trying to avoid him? He needed a good excuse for her to come over, otherwise she'd no doubt stay where she was forever. The shortness of her reply was what irked him more than anything, making him think she was irritated with him somehow. He'd not said anything untoward, perhaps she was just very nervous and wanted him to leave her alone. Perhaps he should, after all, what was he doing? He was trying to talk his adoptive sister, his little sister, into coming all the way to California so he could confess his feelings to her. Feelings that could very well tear apart the family, that could ruin him as well as her. But still, he drove on. He had to have her, he needed her to know and he wanted her more than anything. He had hated that they'd adopted her, it made this whole thing a complete mess. Could she not have just been adopted elsewhere, then they could have met not as a brother and sister. As something else. Anything else...

Mark typed back a reply, thinking of a scheme. It would be his last attempt for now, after that he'd have to settle with seeing her in a few months or so. He didn't think he could wait that long though. He wanted her now.

"Hey Lilo,

Sorry to hear you're so overloaded. All the more reason to take a break? Haha. It's okay, I understand. It's just that I was going in for my last follow up checkup from my surgery last March. Nothing bad, just a routine thing, been doing them each month but it'll be my last one in a few days. I was sort of hoping to have someone there. A little nervous, no reason to be but hey. Ever since that I've hated going there. I was gonna vlog it as well, just to tail that whole little episode off. I had so much support from my fans as well as you guys, I'd just really like someone there for the last one. Still, I can understand if you're busy. It's just routine after all.

Love,

Mark."

Well, that was that. He sat back in his chair and sighed. He'd head to bed after this video had uploaded. He was surprised how tired he was. Still, part of him wanted to see what his sister's response would be. Part of him didn't as well.

Lilo got pulled back from her daydreaming when she saw that her brother had replied fairly quickly. She quickly skimmed his message and her eye’s dilated just a little bit in concern. She leaned back in her desk chair and let a hand comb through her wavy brown hair and sighed. She didn’t understand why he wanted her to visit him so bad right now? Right now was a horrible time with that damn fan-fiction getting Internet fame. She knew he wasn’t lying because she was often updated through his own videos and vlogs and even their parent.

Earlier in the year during March when he visited he had incredibly stomach pains and he went to the ER for them to discover he had an internal intestinal blockage and he had to have immediate surgery. They had to take a small portion of his intestines out but luckily not enough where he had to have any other medical needs. He often had check ups for his stomach and was on medicine to make sure he was healthy. Lilo hadn’t left his side at the hospital. You could see her in some of his videos even though she was shy and avoided the camera hiding her face.

Getting up she walked over to her nightstand grabbing her iPhone she decided to send him a text, it was a little more convenient than an e-mail, more personal. She sat on her bed leaning on the edge typing a text.

10:30 P.M: I will come down.

She sent the text, it was short but what more could she say at the moment. It wasn’t minutes later he texted her back telling her he would have everything covered, the round trip which he was probably hoping would end up just being a one way ticket. She had a feeling he would buy her a ticket as soon as he could and not but a few hours later her ticket was bought for the next morning. He had even gone out of his way to call their parents. So much for getting any sleep she thought once it was past midnight listening to how excited their mother was Lilo was flying down to be with him.

Mark may have let his desires blind some of his logic but his parents adopting her was the best thing that could have happened to the both of them. They saved her from an abusive life, gave her a chance to shine, and would soon enough give both their children a chance to love.

After he had sent his email, Mark sat in his chair for a little while and watched the progress bar of his video slowly tick up to a hundred percent. What was he doing? Trying to get with his little sister of all people. There were plenty of girls who would be interested in him, right? He knew there were, fangirls of all kinds had flocked to him once his channel had started to pick up pace and he could have any one he wanted. Though he found it charming to be showered with affections, and certainly he liked just how much he had made them happy, it wasn't quite the same as his daydreams about his little sister. After all, he'd wanted her for so long. She was the first girl he had a crush on, the girl he went to prom with and the girl he loved to see smile and laugh. Perhaps that's even why he got into making his videos. A brief childhood memory flitted into his mind of his much younger self playing video games, little Lilo watching with awe at her big brother. That was so long ago, could she have been his inspiration?

The video finally ticked to a hundred percent and was posted to the web. There, he was done for the night. Well, not quite. He looked towards his phone which was vibrating furiously, demanding his attention. Who could that be? he wondered. Mark reached over and took his phone, quickly typing in his password and checking his messages. It was from Lilo. So, she was coming. Half of his mind leapt with glee at being given the opportunity to shed his shackles of being the big brother; the other half burned and rebelled against his twisted thoughts.

He sighed, knowing now what he had to do. He texted her back saying that he'd have everything covered, then Mark dialled up the phone to talk to their parents. He was brief since it was so late, though he also wanted it that way. He knew he was going behind their backs, at least partially anyway, and he couldn't face keeping things hidden like this. Still, he needed to, for all their sakes. Once his parents had agreed and he'd booked her ticket he slumped back into his bed. Soon, she would be here and everything would be out in the open. Soon she would know. His doubt returned again, telling him this was a bad idea. Once again, it was his sister and he shouldn't be thinking of her like that. Once again he gulped down the bile in his throat and rebelled against the relation that shouldn't be. Why did they have to adopt her? Things would have been so much simpler if they hadn't. Of course, if they hadn't then he wouldn't have had all those great times together. They'd saved her from a life of abuse and darkness. But still, it had created a rift between them that Mark desperately wanted to cross.

Suffice to say, Mark did not have the best night's sleep, but once it was all taken care of he knew he had to do his best. He'd prepare in the morning and have all day to get ready for her. Soon...

From the moment she had told Mark she would come down and her parents had confirmed it she started packing. She knew it was safe to pack for it least a week or more. Pulling out a medium size suitcase she packed enough outfits of clothes, pajama’s, undergarments. She was OCD about everything so that took it least an hour as everything was neatly packed. She even had a little bag with her hygiene products. In another backpack she had her MacBook, iPad and iPod equipment ready to go along with her Nikon camera. Even though most people used their phones she still preferred an actual camera as they had better quality.

She took a shower and changed comfortably into short ripped blue jean shorts that were so short she wore black leggings underneath that went to her knee’s, with a striped racer tank pulled over her sports bra and messily pulled up her hair and slipped on flip flops. She knew she had a long flight from here to Los Angeles. Heading downstairs it was almost five in the morning, her plane left at seven so she needed to haul ass. Her father was already awake. He was going to drop her off at the airport on his way to work. She grabbed a quick bite to eat and helped him load her luggage and said goodbye to her mother who was just waking up. They were overly excited she was going to visit Mark.

tumblr_inline_mkrqosjU4j1qz4rgp.gif

They arrived at the airport, which was thirty minutes away, and Lilo had out her boarding ticket. She had printed it out and then she saw it was a straight flight with no stops and was first class, her jaw dropped as she was leaning out of the car looking at it. He was famous, and YouTube was his career and he had more than enough money to be comfortable. Her father just smiled and waited patiently.

“He didn’t have to pay for 1st class and I could have easily did a switch of flights to make it cheaper.” She said and saw her father chuckle.

“Your mother said he was eager to have you there as soon as possible. She also said he sounded lonely and is worried about his check up. He said he would by the ticket home when you was ready.” Lilo saw it wasn’t a round ticket and her nerves kind of jumped but she nodded as they entered the airport for her to check in. She checked in the rest of her luggage and hugged her father goodbye. He encouraged her to relax and enjoy her vacation, nor did any of them know her fantasies were about to come true and her whole life was about to change.

Lilo boarded the flight and was settled comfortable in her own little compartment. It didn’t look like an airplane seat; it looked like a luxury recliner. There was a flat screen TV and a little table. She would be able to sleep most of it; she had brought on her medication so it would work out. Leaning back she grabbed her phone and sent Mark a text.

6:45 A.M: I know you’re probably asleep. I’m on my plane ^_^ you totally spent way to much damn money. You know 3rds class delta flight with me switching planes would have been fine. You don’t know to spend a fortune on me. I should kick your ass when I’m there: P Anyway I’m safe and I will be there around five this evening. Love you.

tumblr_static_2uojkivecmm88wg004kgoo048.gif

Lilo stretched out and took her anti-depressant medication, she was starting something knew so she knew she would be sleepy. The flight attendant brought her a blanket and she fell asleep, she knew if she stayed awake she would have anxiety attacks, it scared the hell out of her to think about if Mark would ever find out she wrote the fan-fictions, that she was romantically obsessed with him, that she was his biggest fan.

Indeed, Mark was still asleep when she sent that text. It was a fitful sleep though and it was anything but restful. It was at least 8 AM when he got up and checked his phone, smiling at the text. Indeed, perhaps he'd overdone it with the first class travel. He could afford it though, with the money he earned from his videos he might as well indulge her a little. After all, it sounded like she needed the comfort. He suspected that having her fan-fiction blow up over the internet, then a sudden call from him to see her might have freaked her out a little. It had been late when he'd seen it and perhaps he'd been a little too sudden.

No matter, it was happening and he needed to be prepared. Mark got up properly and went about his day as he normally would while he waited for her to arrive. He picked out a bluish shirt to wear with a pair of dark blue jeans. It wasn't fancy, but then again he didn't want to come off too strongly. He did sort out his hair though and trimmed his beard a little, deciding to wear the good cologne was also a safe bet. Still, he couldn't do anything to assuage the pit of fear that was forming in his stomach. If he screwed this up it may very well end him, not just ruining the family and his relationship with his sister but his friendships, his work and perhaps even his chances with other girls as well. It was a bad idea, he knew that, but he was going to do it anyway. Might as well put all his effort into it.

It was about 9AM when he finally texted back over breakfast. He said he'd have everything ready for when she landed and for her to just enjoy it, he had plenty of money after all.

Indeed, he had plenty of things to do that day so sat down at his rig to get to work. He replied to emails, talked to a few friends and organised a time to talk about a collaboration with a fellow youtuber. Mark always liked collaborating, his fans always liked to see him doing things with other people and he was happy when they were happy.

He had lunch and waited for time to pass, getting things together to cook for his sister's visit. He glumly readied a second bed in the guest room he had prepared, though he wished that she wouldn't want to use it. In fact the whole act was a little pointless. If things went badly, wouldn't she go for a hotel or something? Well, it was the thought that counted and perhaps it would be good for appearances. After all, she might get here and be totally jet-lagged.

Once that was ready and it was nearly time for him to meet her at the airport he made himself a cup of coffee and went to meet her at the airport, sending her a text just before he left to let her know he would be there. He may be a youtube star, but the average joe on the street didn't know him so he could go out and do this sort of thing. Besides, it felt wrong somehow to make her get a cab or something. So as her plane landed, Mark waited to pick her up and take her back to his place, anxious to see her once again. He knew he had to wait to confess his feelings though, just a short drive to the airport and back.

Lilo had waked up as a flight attendant politely shook her shoulders. She checked her phone and saw she had slept most of the eight-hour flight. Her eye’s were a little red and swollen and she rubbed them slowly getting out of the seat to grab her onboard luggage. Right now she was too lethargic to be nervous about Mark picking her up. She hoisted her backpack and messenger back over her shoulders and made her way out of the plane and into the busy airport. She squinted from the bright sunlight. It was so much hotter here so she was thankful for the shorts, leggings and tank.

Walking down the large crowded halls of the airport she spotted her brother waving and smiling geeky. He was such a damn dork and you couldn’t miss him. Rolling her eye’s she made her ways but he broke the distance. He took her bags and set them close and before she could protest she was pulled into a deathly hug. He was a few feet taller so she was lifted off the ground in his strong embrace, he did work out that were for sure. Lilo breathed out surprised, wide eyed. She hadn’t seen him in months, and his scent, it was so thick. She could smell his soap, his laundered clothes and his cologne. She wanted to wrap her legs and arms around him and just inhale his scent but just stood frozen as her feet met the concrete flooring.

“Hey…. morning or evening.” She mumbled yawning, she didn’t realize she had bedhead and it was adorable.

This was it. She was finally here with her brother, the famous Markiplier. It felt so unreal but she was happy he was all right. She watched him easily pick up her bags and they walked to go get the rest of her luggage. Of course she offered to carry some of her own things but he refused and somehow handled it all, including her rolling suitcases. They were heading toward the parking lot and a group of teenagers who obviously knew who he was started taking pictures acting immature. Lilo tried to dodge out of the pictures but somehow was pulled closer to Mark by his arms, as if on purpose. She didn’t want to be publicized, not after writing and posting that fan-fiction. Mark didn’t seem to mind the attention.

"Jesis christ....." She said and and tried to shelter her face as the teenage girls were giggling. They were probably going to be all over twitter and tumbl. She had nothing to worry about, Mark didn't care to be photographed with her. Not to mention she was a gorgous young female, even beautiful when tired and messy hair.

Mark met Lilo at the airport, smiling happily as he saw her approach from the arrivals area He'd waved her over, very happy to see her finally. Even with her bed head she looked cute, standing there sleepily looking him over. His nerves jolted when he saw her, knowing full well what may lie in store for them both. He didn't let that show though, he couldn't. Nope, he put on the chains of the big brother and gave a big friendly hug as she walked to him, a big happy grin on his face. "Evening," he corrected her with a chuckle. It was a longer hug than he meant it to be, breathing in her scent and feeling her close to him. "I've missed you," he confessed, breaking the hug and taking her bags for her. He knew she might think it silly, but hey, he should at least try to be a little chivalrous. "Come on, let's get you home," he said with a chuckle and lead her out of the airport to his car.

For the most part Mark ignored the girls taking pictures of him and his sister, not minding too much about the odd fangirl or two. No doubt the people around them didn't know why they would be taking pictures of him. Still, he didn't mind. In fact he quite liked to see that he was making them happy by being there in the same place, the famous Markiplier.

Indeed, he didn't mind being photographed with her though he knew Lilo was sensitive about such things. He pulled her a little closer as she shied away and chuckled at her reaction. "Relax, it's just a few pictures," he comforted her and gave her a slight squeeze. For a few moments Mark stood there and waved, smiling happily for the cameras for a few moments before proceeding to the car with his sister in tow. He was going to put the bags in the car for her then drive straight to his place, unless she wanted to go elsewhere of course.

They had gotten to Mark’s vehicle, which amazingly was a black brand new Jeep Compass. Like his nice apartment uptown Los Angeles and paying for her flight he had a pretty decent income and was able to put back a lot in savings. Becoming a YouTube sensation had its benefits and pay is one of them, especially when collaborating or doing sponsorships for video game companies. They put all her luggage in the back of the jeep and she climbed into the front yawning. She leaned back and buckled up watching him climb into the driver’s side. She was just happy to be away from the teenyboppers that had tried taking her pictures but she knew he had millions of fans. She wondered why he didn’t have a girlfriend with all the traveling and socializing he did, why wasn’t he with another YouTuber like Pewdiepie was with Maria.

He mentioned if she wanted to catch a bite to eat or just take home some food. She rubbed her eye’s and slumped back already answering his question, she had bad jet lag on top of her anti-psychotic medication, the young girl was exhausted. They stopped at a Jack N Box and got quite a lot of food for carry out and he headed home. Her eye’s lit up as they drove through Los Angeles. Wasn’t quite the same as Cincinnati.

He had pulled into a parking garage and they got out to head up to the elevator. She was in charge of taking up the food and drinks and followed behind him. She watched a few neighbors say greetings and she politely smiled being introduced as his sister. He let her inside and she walked in never being in this apartment. He had just gotten this in the last year. It had a master bedroom, a guest bedroom and a room he converted to his studio. It was pretty expensive but his day job did cover it plus more.

“Wow…nice.” She mumbled putting the food on the dining room table, he was carrying all her luggage and putting it to the side. She kicked off her flip-flops and walked barefooted to the couch and collapsed on it rubbing her eyes.

Mark quickly stowed Lilo's luggage in the jeep, under the gaze of his adoring fans, and joined his sister in the front seat shortly. Indeed, it was a nice car but only because Mark could afford it. He'd always liked jeeps so had bought one quite recently, switching out his old car for something a little more stylish. Either way, he fastened his seat belt and started to drive off. He did wonder if she wanted some food, but clearly she was too tired to think clearly.

Mark decided it would be best to get some take-away from the local Jack N Box. He didn't really know what it was she wanted of course, so he just bought what he thought she would like, with a few extra bits if she wanted to mix and match. Once that was retrieved he headed back to the car and started to drive home once again.

Of course, Mark did wonder as well how Lilo didn't have a boyfriend. Even with her hair a mess and being slumped in the seat next to him, she was sexy. Of course he knew she was a little younger than him but she should have had a boyfriend by now. Right? He couldn't quite remember her last one, just like he couldn't remember his last girlfriend. He had been on dates of course, but none of the women he'd ever been with had captured his imagination. Not like Lilo. She was so sweet and tender. She had her problems of course, but that didn't matter to him. Not in the slightest.

He pulled into the parking lot, getting Lilo to carry the food while he took her bags up. It was that or he had to do two trips of course. Still, she seemed like she could manage it. Just about. There wasn't too much to carry. He said 'hi' to the neighbours as he passed them in the hall, smiling happily and even stopping as one conversed with him about how he was. He of course introduced his sister and told him about his check up, to which the man wished him well. Once that was all out of the way he finally unlocked his apartment, stumbling into the wide open studio. "Heh, well. Perks of the job," he mused, heading upstairs to the guest room. "I'm just going to stow your stuff then we'll get dinner on. You'll feel better once you've eaten something I think," he said with a chuckle as he ascended.

“Yeah maybe food, a shower and some more sleep sadly…I’m exhausted and my new meds I’m on is double timing me on top of jet lag.” She said watching Mark carry stuff down the hall. She walked into the kitchen and was biting her lip while admiring the counters and cabinets, the new stove and refrigerator. Her parents had a nice big house, so its not that she wasn’t use to luxurious things it was more or less how little this place was but just right. In time she would discover this place would her’s hers just as much as his.

Mark came back and Lilo turned around seeing him smiling. She helped him get plates and head over to the table. She sat across from him. He pretty much told her the layout and said his apartments was hers. Though he meant that seriously, he meant it in a kind way so she felt comfortable while staying, of course hoping this stay was permanent but only time would tell.

Lilo started digging in on fries and a double bacon cheeseburger. Her appetite was evident, that was a good thing considering he had seen her depression sometimes keep her from eating. Plus its not like a few pounds would hurt her small little body, she had a metabolism to kill for.

With that, Mark headed upstairs and to the guest bedroom. He put her things at the foot of her bed. It would be rude to unpack for her, and he wanted dinner. It had been a long day, waiting for her to arrive and he was a little tired himself. Perhaps that was just the act of carrying all her stuff up to his apartment. Their apartment. It was weird to think of it that way, but something in him hoped that one day it would be just that. Their apartment. Sharing his life with... his adoptive sister. It felt right, but it was wrong to think about. The brain and the heart, at war so often they were old adversaries. Usually the heart won out though. It won here, he was still doing this after all. How to break it to her though, that was the question. This wasn't something you could just say, it was much more than that.

Once he was done with the bags he came down, smiling at her as she seemed to be getting dinner ready. He helped as much as he could and soon they were eating at the dining table together. It wasn't classy date food, but it was food nonetheless. Indeed, it was good to see her eating. He'd seen her when she was low, barely taking a bite of her food before passing it up. She'd been through a lot, and Lilo certainly suffered from it. He wished he could make it go away, he really could. But no doubt she'd be like this for a long while. Mark would do his best to keep her happy in the times to come, as he always had done. Just now it would be as something more than a brother, just like he'd always dreamed.

He sat opposite her, eating his meal with a little less gusto than her. Mark decided it was better to just watch her for a few moments before talking. She seemed okay, despite the tiredness of the jet lag, and her meds. Still, he wanted to know how she'd been. "So," he began with a smile. "How have you been? Good? You said you'd had a lot on, everything's okay back home, right?"

“Yeah, everything is alright,” she took another huge bite of a sandwich and had to lick her lips and use the back of her hand to wipe sauce from the sandwich but kept digging in. She had no shame, it least with eating. “Just doing homework for my online courses, I’m doing good with that…. that’s it I guess. Mom and pop are doing alright.” She said while taking more bites. She took a large slurp from her fountain drink and looked at her brother.

He had grown so much, he was taller and obviously had been working out. He was pretty damn toned with muscles, he use to always be in shape but more average, now he could probably lift decent weights. He did kind of model, act and all that since he was a YouTube sensation. He had a big fan base amongst his female fans.

She got quiet thinking of all the videos he had done to almost make a parody of how over sexualized he was. She had to grab a handful of fries to just to do something so she wouldn’t make a weird face. She remembered a fan video someone had done. Of course she found it hot as hell but a little to corny but it was what it was. She remembered details like his scar from his surgery that went down his naval. It had healed, but of course she was notice it in the shot of him unbuttoning his shirt.

“But yeah I’m doing alright….” She gave a half fake adorable smile and continued eating.

Well, that was good to hear. She was doing okay, and she looked good too. Mark noted the messy way she was eating her sandwich with a slight smile. Indeed, she didn't really have any shame, but that didn't matter. He was just happy that she was comfortable being herself with him. She'd always eaten like that, at least as far as he could remember. Why stop just for this? Just perfect. Still, she was doing okay. Homework, staying at home with their mother and father. She still had to get into adult life. Granted, she was an adult in her own right, but living by oneself away from home. Well, that was something else altogether. She was independent, but he felt that she was less comfortable with leaving their childhood home behind than he had been. He supposed that was reasonable, given everything she'd been through.

"Good, good," Mark said with a nod. He chuckled, taking a bite out of his dinner and chewing, eating a little more gracefully than Lilo. "Best keep up with that. Pretty important if you want a job and... a place of your own," he said, a little uncertainly. After all, wasn't the whole point trying to get her to not want that, to want to be with him. He smiled, stalling slightly, wondering if that was the right thing to say. "Home is nice after all, but. Well, it's been so long since we discussed all that, I can't remember what exactly your plans were after your course," he apologised, shaking his head.

Indeed, he knew what course she was doing and what the end result was. The problem was he wasn't quite sure where that would put her. Far away? Back at home? Close to him? He hoped for the latter. Still, he was glad that things were going okay for her. Perhaps it was a little early to be bombarding her with questions about what it was like back home, but he might as well. It would make things seem normal, and a little less awkward for him.

Lilo continued eating her food and had eaten a large amount and was downing her fountain drink. She was happy for him to distract her mind of the video the fan had made. She ate some more fries and answered.

“I really don’t know. I guess I will try to find an actual job to support myself since Starbucks really isn’t cutting it.” She actually said smiling while rolling her eye’s. She looked back at Mark and couldn’t quite help herself before the question came out.

“How’s yours stomach scar?” She asked and then went wide eyed realizing what she was asking, wasn’t that personal? Was he going to think she was weird for wondering about his surgery scar that went basically down his stomach, down his navel. She got quiet and leaned back looking defeated. She felt like Mark was second hand smoke, she kept breathing him in and he was smothering her senses and she felt it was bad. The image of the video of his unbuttoning his shirt kept flashing and she sighed seeming a little stressed.

Maybe if I actually had a life, a boyfriend and got laid I wouldn’t be constantly obsessing over my own brother…. she thought nibbling on some chicken nuggets.

Mark continued eating slowly, looking up as she commented on her job at Starbucks. Indeed, it wasn't the best job but at least it was still money. Of course, he would never see her go hungry, nor his family. Still, earning a little money on one's own initiative was certainly commendable. He certainly knew that he would keep working even if he made billions, else he would go mad. Just what would he do all day. Besides, he had fans to think about. They were always important to him, and on the off chance he did make billions, he wouldn't simply abandon them.

Either way, it was great to hear that she was busy. It wasn't great work, but it was still work. He chuckled as she rolled her eyes. "At least it's a job I suppose," he commented.

Still, her question caught him off guard a little. He'd not expected to be asked about his scar. Why would she ask something like that? Not that he minded of course, he guessed that she was likely just curious about how he was recovering. The way she looked away after she said it was a little worrying though. He blushed a little and coughed awkwardly. "It's... it's okay," he said with a smile as she looked a little defeated. "It's fine really. It's, healing slowly. I'm sure soon you won't even notice it," he commented again. He chuckled then, "Did the parents tell you to ask?" he joked with a mischievous smile. Not that he minded them checking up on him of course, but hey, one could tease right?

Lilo watched his reaction and stopped midway in-between a bite and shrugged. Some how she was exhausted and her filters weren’t up to 100%.

“No they didn’t ask….I just remember, plus when you over sexualize yourself in video’s, your fan’s seem to get a little crazy, so there is a video with a continuous shot of you taking off your shirt with your stomach exposed….the scar is visible.” She said as if saying something educational and factly and took another bite of her sandwich. She then with a full mouth of food started chewing slowly as it clicked what she just let slip, what she had said so bluntly. She had just admitted to watching all his video’s, even his fan video’s.

Then again, Lilo had no idea the reason he was here, the reason why he had so eagerly convinced her to visit was because he knew about her own fan-fiction, because he knew how she felt about him and felt same. So of course he wouldn’t be surprised that she maybe indulged in her personal pleasures of him, watching other fan video’s.

She swallowed the mouthful of food and looked a little weird in a cute way, she didn’t know what to say, how to make her last comment not seem as obvious as it was.

Mark raised an eyebrow, looking up from his food as she said that. Did, she just say she'd watched that video? After all, he'd seen it too. Perhaps she really did like him more than he thought she did. That fanfiction, and now this? Maybe she did like him and he wasn't just going slightly crazy with the hope that she felt the same way he did about her.

He smiled slightly at the memory of the video. He was a little unsure of what to say at first, then decides to try and play it cool to the best of his ability. "Yeah, I... I know," he said, trying his best to not blush. It wasn't quite working though. "It's a lot of attention and I don't mind. They have fun with it, and that's what's important to me," he admitted with a nod.

Mark once more smiled, attempting to reassure Lilo that she'd not said anything wrong. After all, a lot of people had probably watched those videos and he could assume that she assumed that he thought that she was referring to the joke. Mind you, this deception was starting to become slightly complicated. He did his best to smile and keep eating, wondering slightly at it.

Lilo finished her food and and pushed up from the chair to start putting the trash in the empty paper bag, she didn’t want to be messy. His apartment was oddly enough very neat and clean. She headed into the kitchen and looked back as Mark motioned and nodded where the trash can was. She threw it away and yawned walking back into the dining room.

“I guess I’m going to take a long nap and try to balance my sleep…. sorry for being a lame guest, but you got me down here.” She said with a hint of sarcasm while rolling her eye’s. She was going to simply walk past him and head to the guest room to unpack until somehow a ruffle to her head, somehow someway ended up with a hug. He was still sitting down while she was engulfed his his large arms, he was warm and she was cold despite the dramatic temperature change from Ohio to Calfornia.

Mark finished off his food just as Lilo headed into the kitchen and helpfully pointed out the bin. Well, she was being neat and tidy, that was certainly appreciated. After all, she was a guest here. Not that Mark particularly minded, she was so tired. He was a little tired too. The stress of the day, the drive and the encounter with his fans had left him a little drained. He felt wide awake though, not being able to forget for a moment that Lilo was here and with him. Maybe in the morning he'd get the courage to hint to her that he liked her. Yes, that was a good idea, right? Subtle. He wasn't exactly the master of being subtle about these things however. Quite the opposite.

"Not a problem, you're tired," he said simply. "You can be my lame guest anytime," he said again, going to ruffle her hair. It ended strangely in a hug however, Mark wasn't quite sure how. She felt cold, not surprising given where she'd been. Mark eventually stood up, insisting on holding her closer for a few more moments. She felt so nice to hold in his arms, his frustration building ever so slightly. He wanted her, but this was as close as he was going to get for now. He sighed, looking down at her. "You look so cute when you're tired," he remarked. "Go on though, go to bed. I'll wash all this up and see you in the morning."

Lilo slowly let go looking up at Mark. She could sense the emotion, the turmoil, the resistance. She wasn’t sure exactly what it was but she could feel it and see it in his eye’s. She rolled her eye’s at her comment on her being cute and shrugged as he let go. She stood there awkwardly for a while not knowing what to do. She hadn’t spent one on one time with Mark in so long, how did they go from being so close, inseparable to this? How did she go to always being use to being around him to secretly obsessing over him?

Mark stood there and she made a weird adorable face, the one she made when she didn’t know what to do. She twisted her mouth and saw him kind of laugh and she shrugged.

“Yeah this is weird, Jesus….yeah I’ll go lay down.” She said and turned to walk down the hall to the guest room. She passed the room he did his video’s in, it was fancy with all kinds of equipment including padding to make it sound proof. Would he make video’s while she was here? She wasn’t being very entertaining company.

She headed into the guest bedroom and saw the full size bed and didn’t even worry about changing as she was already comfortable and climbed into the bed. She could tell he had cleaned the room and smelled the freshness of the clean sheets and covers. She laid there wondering what his bed smelled like? Did it smell like him?
