You follow the scantily-clad maidservant down a long, dark corridor. Blood red banners line the walls, and a coat of arms hangs from each archway. The maiden stops at two massive Thornwood doors - clearly forged by a master smith.
"She awaits."
The doors swing outward, narrowly missing you. They crack loudly against their holdings. Beyond the threshold is a wide, circular room adorned with a thousand candles, all lit. Into the floor is carved a large pentagram, the fifth, highest point aiming northward. In the center of the design is a pedestal with a small, golden fence partially encircling it. The far end of the room features singular throne, all in various shades of red. The Lady Herself sits here, waiting for you. Tentatively, you step up to the pedestal.
"You are late. No matter. I will overlook this failure, once. Next time, the whips will be applied. You are summoned to journey with me, and to 'entertain' me as the need arises. We will fight mighty foes, and slay them in bloody demonstrations of prowess; and we will make the Gods envy our passions. If you are not faint of heart, you will do well.
"I am feeling uncharacteristically generous. I will allow you to decide upon which adventure we shall embark. Your selections are thus..."
The maiden appears again and presents you with a piece of parchment, on which is inscribed a number of opportunities.

Weary from her journey, and still nude, she finds herself in a dark forest at the edge of dusk. Something compels her to move onward, to pass through the Thornwood Forest Deep, but she cannot decipher what the compulsion is, nor from whence it comes.
She enters the Forest without hesitation, and is quickly drawn upon by a pack of hungry werehounds. She has no weapons, no armor, and no patience. She tilts her head cautiously in curiosity and interest. And in desperation. You have arrived in arms and armor, prepared for the trek through the deadly Thornwood Forest. With you, surely she would be safe. But she has little to offer you. Except...
"Please, traveler, if you will escort me to safety, I can promise you two things: I will journey with you into any adventure of your design, anything you deign worthy of your attention; and, I will give myself unto you freely and completely. Will you aid me?"
