Hey there out there, Wolf_and_Bird here. Bird works just fine though.

I am currently looking for a partner for a mostly plot based rp (though smut is welcome). I'm looking for someone lit to lit advanced who'll post with some regularity (I understand not being able to post every day, I have a full time job and a social life so *I* can't promise a post every day, but I get in at least one response most days and will often respond within an hour of getting a post in the evenings. Something along those lines would be preferred).

Plot/Pairings and All That Stuff

What I am looking for is rps revolving around two (or more, I love multiple characters) people trying to survive a low power/hostile/or oppressive situation. This... is something easier explained through examples; Escorts with a less than benevolent madam trying to find love, slaves trying to dodge trouble and plan their great escape, magic users under the control of a shadowy agency trying to survive missions, members of a oppressed group trying to literally just survive, ect.

Basically I want an rp about our characters trying to make a life for themselves (and possibly save the world) in a situation where the odds are against them and they're in a power-negative role. That said I am totally okay with (and would even like) if there is some aspect of dominance/submission between the two of them, so long as my character isn't stuck in a purely or mostly dominant position.

The "survival" can be as much about preserving a sense of self and emotional well being as actually staying alive.

Some possible pairings:
(most have plots below)
Courtesan/Courtesan
Slave/Slave
Genetically Engineered Hero/Genetically Engineered Hero
Traveling entertainer/Traveling entertainer
Conscripted Soldier/Conscripted Soldier
Outcast/Outcast

Currently Craving: The Arrow and The Quiver or Silk and Steel

Below are some possible actual Ideas:
(Note that many of these are more premises to build stories on than actual narratives. We'd hopefully develop something after picking a premise)

The Arrow and the Quiver:
They come in pairs, always in pairs, in time all those who work security (or work against security) for the rich and powerful learn to be wary of any new faces that appear in pairs. Those who have seen the training house and spoken with them say they are known to each other and those they serve as Arrows and Quivers. The rumors as to their training and origins and the secretive nature of those who sell their services what is known to even those who purchase them is this:

Arrows will protect their master, will be unstoppable death once set on course or bring swift end at close range if the need is dire and the enemy sneak close. They are forces undeniable both in physical ability and training to spot threats and ensure their master's safety.

Quivers will serve as shelter, as steady weight at their master's side, as a way to contain and still the violence that is a need to always be ready and watchful. In public they are an aid in organization, in the never ending tasks, and in private they are a soft and warm lover to give way and give comfort.

They are always sent in pairs. The pairs, it is discovered, are often perfect strangers prior to being sold, as allowing them to form connection before meeting their master would hinder the formation of loyalty to where it most must be given. Their long training allows them to be attuned to the other's skills however, knowing always the give and take required of them.
{I'd want to play a Quiver but am open to talks about changing details a bit.}

Notes/Extras:
-Can be played in any time period/setting but I'm really interested in something sort of like fantasy-industrial-revolution like (see Dishonored or Fable III)
- I'm super interested in there being some level of mental conditioning between the Arrows and the Quivers (Kind of like Big Daddies/Little Sisters in Bioshock where, for example, the Arrow's have essentially been programmed to be hyper protective of whatever Quiver they're paired with (except from their master) while the Quiver will always, instinctively, trust their Arrow.
- Even further conditioning like implanted phrases would be super cool.
- I'm okay with either the master being mostly an off screen character or being a character you play. I am not at all interested in playing him myself.

To Them These Street Belong:
Fifteen minutes in the future, or right here and now, in a city full of bright neon lights and beautiful tall sky scrapers there's is an underbelly the rich and powerful forgot. Food is hard to come by, hope even harder. Drugs and guns and chaos rule the districts the police have deemed beyond control and simply quarantined from the rest of the city and the world, requiring certain passes or credentials to enter or leave. Brothels, sweat shops, and gangs have become the economy of this little piece of hell.

In the deepest darkness even a dim light will seem to shine bright. A scattering of souls, veterans of the fight to survive there in the pit, are coming together to try to forge some kind of order out of the chaos. Are they just another gang grasping for some kind of power or people willing to fight to change the turn of their world?

Only time will tell.

- While we could start at the foundation I'm most interested in starting a few months or years into the life of the gang when some kind of event happens to kick off a plot.
- If you're interested in throwing in a supernatural element that would make me even happier.
- This would require several characters each, though obviously we could focus on a select few.

Favored Children:
Fifteen minutes in the future/sci-fi world/pick your dystopian society the very best, brightest, most charming, fairest to look at orphans are not left to rot in orphanages. They become Wards of the State. Fostered out to good families of high standing where they receive proper educations. Because of their "delicate" temperaments from their "traumatic" childhoods they are declared unfit to face the harsh world outside of the government's gentle embrace upon coming of age. Instead they are sent to a facility in the capitol city where they will continue a proper and gentle education and eventually find some wealthy and influential person to take them in.

The Academy, as this facility is commonly called, certainly does not serve as a very high class brothel and it's students are certainly not being held there against their will. They go to parties all the time! And have full run of the capitol city so long as they're back home by curfew (which is of course for their own protection).

- Our characters would be "students" at the academy (over the age of eighteen at least). Rp would be mostly the interactions between students and faculty rather than the clients passing through.
- Key points: a silver cage, dehumanization through kindness "we're doing this for your own good", low violence, potential for lots of spy stuff and scandal if we wanted. "Romantic" setting?

The Heroes They Madecurrently playing already
Maybe they're mutants or the products of experimentation or magic but a shadowy agency with some major agendas and a ends-justify-the-means mentality has managed to create some super soldiers to fight their "good" fight. Two (or more) show promise the agency has never seen before and wishes to fully utilize by sending them on missions together.

-Our Characters would be two (or more, seriously I'd love if it was a super team they created) engineered heroes. Although we could play this with shades of light gray and have the agency be mostly well meaning, just controlling of their agents, I'd love to play something on the darker end of the spectrum. Our characters being considered more "assets" than agents, their movements off the job confined, the agency itself not as noble as could be hoped.
- I'd really love it if our characters developed into a mindset where, despite it being potentially a huge problem for their handlers, their first priority is the other's safety and well being. I also have kind of a huge love for characters being protective of my character. Not a requirement but fun for me.
- I'd love to play a version of this where, despite being the biggest successes the agency has had, their "gifts" come with major drawbacks. I'd kind of love to play the cliche "psychic captured by the government and turned supersoldier but had a few screws knocked loose in the process" but there are lots of variants to this I'd love to play).

The Silent Will Shout
No castle runs itself. No imperial palace keeps itself in a state of glory. An army of servants and slaves work day and night to keep the grand beacon of imperial decadence shining so bright. Somewhere amid all of that is a class of slave tasked with running messages and errands and serving wine and attending to needs of guests high ranking enough that a certain level of attractiveness and skill is expected even among the lowest ranking attendant to serve them. It's a thankless task that leaves them that perform it in the path of all walks of the castle who might look to lash out on someone less fortunate.

It's also a position that affords those within it's ranks the ability to go unnoticed and unremembered nearly anywhere in the palace. With their duties taking them from highest tower to lowest dungeon on command they have a free run of the palace and worms eye view of the activities of the powerful.

It's a position that, as the rebellion grows, provides some of the most valuable spies any movement could want.

- Slaves (possibly used as bed warmers at times) in a fantasy environment with a rebellion on the way. What more could you possibly want?

Silk and Steel:
The Imperial Palace, shining jewel of the empire, home to countless wonders from all corners of the lands. Tucked away in a guarded corner of the palace between the royal chambers and the rooms to house the most favored guests lies the Lily Garden. A courtyard with a pool for swimming, fountains, and gardens (only partly made up of lilies) surrounded by open aired hallways and rooms for sleeping and recreation it is full of the echo of water and the heady scent of lilies.

It's also home to one of the many collections of treasures gathered from the empire. In this case these treasures are human. Charming, bright, beautiful, and frequently taken from their homes without being asked if they wanted to leave the young men and women who dwell in the Lily Garden live lives of luxury and relaxation. Their only duties are entertaining and giving companionship to those privileged to enter their perfumed world.

Of course some of the guests are less pleasant to wait on than others.

- We could have a rebellion plot similar to the "The Silent Will Shout" plot. Or I have been wanting to do something where there are monsters/demons in the world and chance would have it our characters either manifest abilities to fight them or just get pulled into the battle despite being functionally courtesans. Or it could just be harem intrigue.
- The idea is that those chosen to be put into the garden are not given the choice. Some are probably happy to go but largely there isn't a lot of choice in the matter of either getting there or who is served after getting there. I like the idea of the beautiful and elegant surroundings contrasting with the dark ass shit that happens in them.
- I also have some interest in the conflicts between those trapped in the garden. Older residents falling out of favor, younger and popular (and possibly unhappy about it) members.
- If we wanted to go super dark there could be the (mostly unspoken but not unknown) threat that the only ways to leave the garden are as someone's paramour or as a corpse if you fall too far out of favor.

Near the Edge of the World:
At the edge of civilization (be it frontier lands, tribe, space colony, post apocalyptic, ect.) a trait that manifests around the time adulthood is reached, and local superstitions about it, set a portion of the population apart. Considered "marked" and even cursed they are forced the edges of society in a land already far past the protective boundaries of civilization.

- More man verses nature than man verses wild than some of the other plots but I still like it.

And many more surely to come in time. I'm also willing to hear ideas along the same line!

Let me know if I caught your attention!
