Honour, valour, nobility, bravery and strength. The very mention of such words permeates the conscience with an exuberant optimism. But these traits and their existence seem not only superfluous but impassable. Yet, nature has an innate proficiency to ascend beyond the barricade of the most incomprehensible fantasies and achieve supremacy. Ray Wilkes was the epitome of this ability of nature. He was the impeccable consolidation of all these elements into one being. Qualms could be constructed against the viability of this claim. But the young Marine, Major Wilkes could negate any misgiving against him with merely his triumphant exploits.

This evening, the marine found himself recessing in his abode. The ceiling fan creaked as it swivelled in a circular motion. Ray gazed up at it. His thoughts ran amuck at this action at how life is indeed a process similar in pattern. It ends exactly where it started. One starts with no material possessions and ends with none as well. All that man leaves behind is his accomplishments, his name etched in history. But today Ray was bent upon turning his lethargic vacation into a fairly exciting event. Therefore, he stood prostate, soaking in the warmth of the scorching disk and the sight of the deep blue below it. Turning around, the young Marine stared upon his garb. This domestic clothing was such that he would be repudiated entrance to McDonald’s if he were brave enough. Swapping his clothes for a formal attire which consisted of a suit as dark as the moonless night sky, a shirt even darker and a tie His trousers and loafers followed the same pattern of hue and one could see the pale pallor of his skin emerging from the darkest shade in all land (This is the impact batman has on children who read too many of his comics).

Thus, he escaped the confines of his domestic prison into the freedom of the outer world. His first step off the porch reminded him of Neil Armstrong, “One small step for me and one giant leap for mankind.” He snickered at the thought and under the silver lining of the crescent one could witness the sinewy stature, the well cut and civilised golden mane of the Marine. With the door to his 1975 Ford Mustang ajar, the male drove forth towards the mysterious future subject to only prescient powers. By the events of the bar Ray was in left him unimpressed, azure orbs searching for a single ray of hope, but there seemed none. His sharp features, pointed nose along with the clean shaven face and the rough cheekbones clearly depicted that Ray was indeed a professional in the field of physical activity.

Upon first sight impressions one would deem the man a dull brute, but sometimes truth is far stranger than fiction for Ray was not only physically endowed but mentally equipped with intelligence. Thus, he was a lethal combination, both a warrior and a mentat. Being a subject of awe from the strangers sitting on the opposite bar stools as he was the only person not indulging in liquor consumption, Ray sipped his orange juice and continued his hunt through the bustling crowd of the bar in search of someone interesting for interaction and acquaintance.
