Hello there! Allow me to welcome you to my search thread. I am looking for a player of the female persuasion to share in a role-play scenario I've come up with.
The idea is less overtly sexual, it should be noted, and would be more focused on the relationship forming between the two characters, as well as the adventures they have along the way. That is not to say there wouldn't be sex at some point; after all, why did any of us come to this forum in the first place?
The plot is heavily inspired by one too many William Gibson stories, as well as a song I've been listening to: Tesla Boy's Spirit of the Night. If you like New Wave music and vintage cyberpunk at all, I implore you, give both of these a look/listen!
Anyway, my plot is this:

It is an indeterminate year in the future. Our two characters are residents of the Sprawl, a massive urban environment which now links the cities of Boston and New York. Home to many millions of people, of every stripe and class imaginable, the Sprawl is often a bleak place, one many of its residents wish to avoid dealing with whenever possible.
To this end, Simulus is a popular escape.
Simulated Stimulus, or Simulus, is the drug of choice for much of the population. Employing a neural interface headband to feed sensation into the wearer's brain, Simulus is a computer-generated facsimile of reality, a digital hallucination which can transport the user from their dreary apartment or hovel into any world they choose.
Popular uses of Simulus include recorded "sessions" choreographed and staged by professional actors, as well as games and other interactive material. Simulus can also be used in other ways; users with networked Simulus decks can interact with one-another in simulated environments, either for work, play, or just socialization.

My character, Milo, is a Simulus user and transhuman, part of a now fairly uncommon species originally meant to inhabit the vast deserts or Northern Africa and the American Southwest; how he got to the Sprawl is anyone's guess, but perhaps that story will be told.
Milo lives the romantic life of a Simulus deck repair specialist; working in a dingy shop for 6 hours a day, he makes just enough to clear expenses on a "studio apartment" on the roof of a half-abandoned arcology at the edge of the city, a converted shipping container nestled under a rusty communications mast. Milo is bright, but never seems to be able to catch a break; he seems doomed to live in he Sprawl forever.
His only escape is Simulus, a medium through which he initially met your character.
Your character is a student, living in a real studio apartment in a much nicer part of the Sprawl. A creative type with a particular talent for Simulus constructs, she has been going to school for an art/programming major, and she could generously be classified as the awkward, nerdy type. She has a job, though money has never been much of a concern, since her scholarship takes care of almost all her expenses. No having many friends, her time off is often spent plugged into a Simulus deck, where she met my character.

The difference between Simulus and standard online games is that a Simulus connection typically does not allow for an "avatar" system; players appear as they are in real life, partially because of the fact that Simulus personae are slaved to the users neurological makeup, and thus it is hard to deviate in physical parameters.
That is where your character comes in.
Your character is a talented Simulus designer, and has come up with a way to create a Simulus avatar which differs from her true physical appearance. In order to hide her true identity, she has constructed an idealized version of herself which is everything she wants to be, but is to shy and uncoordinated to pull off in real life.
My character is teamed up yours during a randomized Simulus match in an online game. Thereafter, the two become friends, though they have never met in real life.
What happens, however, when a major corporation discovers that what professional "Deckers" have termed "the Spirit of the Night" is, in fact, a construct? What might such a ruthless entity do to gain the secret of creating fake digital identities for a technology which has resisted all previous attempts to do so?
What will happen when an awkward Simulus savant and a downtrodden deck repairman are targeted by the same entity, and must meet in real life in order to keep their freedom, and their lives?
And what might happen between them?

If you're interested at all in this, please, send me a PM saying so! I'm afraid I mainly RP in PMs, though I might, might, be persuaded to do a thread as well.
Talk to you soon, hopefully!
