Clarissa was aware of the beings tracing her, but her composure endured since there was no certitude they knew who or what she was. She'd concealed her angel's aura so her true presence would've gone unobserved if the beings hadn't come across her. This could be bad luck, merely a couple of vampires seeking sustenance, but she wasn't going to risk it. Her pace was brisk, her heart thrumming in a constant rythym. She couldn't say what the beings' intentions were.

The streets were dark, lit mostly by streetlights spilling pools of white light every so often. Clarissa knew the danger of coming out in the night hours, but she thought she'd be safe in this place since it wasn't the usual place for vampires or other creatures of the night. She increased her pace yet again, the figures were definitely pursuing her, they were speeding up to keep up with her. What were they waiting for? She realised there was something fishy, a trap perhaps. She kept her wits about her.
