The Dereksons have made a vast fortune. Three months before the Purge, Tony Derekson's parents were killed in a hit and run robbery while returning home from their vacation. Their only thought of solace was that their son was alive. They had left their vast fortune of three score and ten billion dollars to him. Truth be told, they had some minor run ins with some sort of unethical business practices, but such things were never long term habits and were few and in-between.
Still however, their estate was extremely expensive, and as an extremely valuable estate, it had to be watched and protected from criminals. It was protected both by security personel and state of the art technology.
It has been a tradition for the past six years for the Dereksons to offer people who were in trouble a safe place to stay in an underground stronghold they made below the house. The Derekson estate is large even without the underground strong hold below it, with a kitchen, a hall way, a dining room, a gaming room, a ball room, a study, a garden and even a second floor, not to mention four bath rooms and six bed rooms, not counting the guest room.
Finally, upstairs they even had a small bar room, an attic and down stairs they had a stairway leading to a very large basement. The basement had a secret way to the underground strong hold. The Strong hold was large enough to hold over two hundred party goers, as they became known.
As long as the George and Mary Derekson were alive, the security personel had to obey by their rules. Technically they should have been running the estate the same way as if they were alive, but their employers were not, in fact, alive, and decided that they were going to run things their way. Dennis Moranis, the leader of the seven security other guards of the estate, has different ideas of how to behave during The Purge rather than to just obey the old laws everyone obeyed during the rest of the year.
