I envy your confidence in colour usage and your clean strength of lines. It's a skill that cannot be taught-it's just an innate style you're born with.

Absolutely not! Confidence comes from trial and error, and you can only get that through experience. I've become a confident lineworker in digital art because I can, without consequences, stroke however I like and be able to erase and edit it without a trace of a mess up. That kind of cleanliness is definitely restricted to digital work. Otherwise you need incredible focus and a steady hand, and I kinda have neither.

In my 12 years of serious drawing, the other 10 I spent doing it constantly just out of enjoyment, I've discovered only two ways to 'get good' at whatever your art is.
- Look at art. Alot. Collect it. Look at it more.
- Try everything. Fuck up. Sketch constantly. Doodle. Keep scraps you like.

Lots of work in art and other crafts and getting 'good at it' involves a learned muscle memory of a repeated task.

I am truly pleased to read this website posts which carries lots of helpful data, thanks for providing these kinds of statistics.
