Zane looked up at the sky as he was escorted through the main gate of the Styx Reaper Academy, his dual-colored eyes gazing at a passing cloud that seemed lost in an otherwise clear blue expanse. At the moment he felt exactly like that cloud, lost, nothing similar anywhere in view or within his reach. But although he was used to such a feeling, used to being alone and in a space of danger and confusion, it changed nothing for the effects he felt.

Being brought to this island, this facility, this school for Reapers, was nothing that could have been prepared for beforehand. And he knew it was only going to get more confusing, strange, and dangerous as he stayed here.

His sister was safe, he could take happiness in that. That she was away from his beast of a father and his abusive actions and violent tendencies. That she was with a family that would care for her as if she was their own flesh and blood. In fact, that was the only solace he took, if any, at this time in his life.

Zane's eyes lowered along with his head as the Reaper guide had lead him through the front gate and towards the center of the campus. Right in the center, standing proud yet also ominously, was a large statue of a female Reaper with long hair, adorned in a large black robe and a old-fashioned looking scythe in her right hand.

The Reaper guide stopped him at the statue, turning and facing. "Welcome to Styx," A male voice came from under the hood of the reaper robes, not at all unpleasant in tone but welcoming. Far in contrast to his current appearance.

Zane gave a small nod in response to the welcome from under his hood, which he always had over his head to hide his striking silver hair, a clear sign of his heritage of the Alsanai bloodline.

The hooded Reaper reached into the loose black cloths that adorned him and retrieved a large manila envelope, a key card taped to it. "Here, its your welcome package and room key. You will find everything you need inside, along with your schedule. And your room and dorm number is on the card. If you need any assistance let me or any of the staff know. You will know the staff from student by the robes. Only staff may wear them or graduates."

Zane silently nodded again and took the envelope from the man, blinking as the Reaper suddenly vanished in a large plume of flame.

"......"

If he was going to be approached by people like that, he was going to be jumpy for a while. He sighed and looked at the plastic key card on the envelope.

"Dorm B, room 15...." He checked for any other details on the card. No sign of anything other than the dorm and room number along with the magnetic strip. He shook his head and looked at the surrounding buildings, noticing they were aptly named by large block letters on their walls.

Once he spotted Dorm B, he hefted the small bag he carried on his shoulder and headed towards it, covering the distance quickly as to try and keep from being noticed by too many of the students out on campus. Even though his hair was hidden, he was sure new students were usually approached or at least watched by the senior years.

He walked through the large double doors of the dorm and blinked, noticing that many of the students inside were not only of different genders, but even of species he had not yet seen.

The shock that went through him lasted longer than he would have liked but eh shook it off soon enough, keeping his head down and face hidden, Zane began to search for his room, praying he lacked a room mate. It would be hard enough to hide the hair without one, but with one things would get far too complicated and difficult.

Upon reaching the top floor of the dorm, Zane found his room, labeled B-15 in black block letters. He swiped the key card and was relieved to see the room, although surprisingly stocked and homey, was bare of any signs of life. He walked in and shut the door behind him, walking into its living quarters and looking around. "....Is every room supposed to be built like a five star motel....?" He asked himself as he observed it. Separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, entertainment centers, it was like living in a rich mans land.

"....Sadly I think a room mate is inevitable...."
