James had taken his time getting ready this morning. This was a moment he'd been looking forward to for weeks. It took a lot of convincing and acting, but he'd managed to convince his family he was too sick to go to their grandparents for a two week end-of-summer getaway. It was a traditional family retreat of sorts, a few weeks away in Colorado for everyone to just relax and unwind. James hated it. Not because he liked being away from his family, although they did argue a lot, it was more that he just relished his alone time. He could just be to himself all day and thing. Well that and one other thing....

He nearly had to stop himself from tiptoeing into his sisters bedroom and adjoining bathroom, chucking to himself as he ran a long red wig through his fingers. For years now James had been a closet crossdresser, carefully avoiding anything that could be considered suspicious from his family and friends. He'd sneak in and try on his sisters things in the rare moments he got alone, and to be frank, he was rather good at it. He had never had the time or opportunity to do anything like this however. He'd always been a bit feminine in his look. His face was soft and round, his waist a bit slimmer than the average male, shoulders too narrow, and hips just tiny bit too wide. In-truth he'd always put a lot of effort into his look as a male, doing whatever he had to avoid trouble -- and well this just felt easier for him at times.

Nearly an hour and a half latter he looked back at the image reflected in the mirror and just just felt more normal. The clean, brushed out hair, tied back in a ponytail and done up with red and black ribbons. The makeup applied around his eyes and face, the coat of cherry gloss on his lips, the red and white nail-polish, the strawberry scented bodywash and perfume on his freshly shaved body.... all topped off with a red and black cheerleading outfit, white socks and tennis shoes. He looked normal. Hell he looked like a cheerleader. He gave a smirk and winked at himself in the mirror before walking down stairs and into the den.

Alone in the room a shiver of anticipation ran down his spine -- he took a deep, steady breath before opening up his cherry-red lips "We are the Cardinals, and couldn't be prouder
and if you can’t hear us, we’ll yell a little louder" he chanted, throwing his arms up and starting into the routine he so greedily watched the squad do during home games.
