Mine wasn't really witty.

We could have said we will entertain him by pulling a bag over his head, gassing him and then doing all sorts of fecal manipulation to his body.

wit - In modern usage, intellectually amusing language that surprises and delights. Usually uses terse language that makes a pointed statement.

When I think of wit, this is the definition that comes to mind. So to me, it was a quick and obviously understood joke about the situation.

Bottom line, I laughed and wished to compliment you on making my terrible week much better in one line.
