Erica's mind reeled as she paced past her couch for the tenth time. All the dishes were washed and in their proper places. No sweaters, socks or bras, riddled the living room and any trace of dust or dirt had been destroyed. Even her various movies lined their proper shelves and all trace of single life was out of sight. Jessie would have been proud of her for simply finding the courage to pick up the phone. Telephone conversations were never her thing but somehow ordering a companion online seemed...it seemed kinda sketchy. She'd poured over options though.

Dogs, cats, even lizards. There was no shortage of species type depending on how much cash you were willing to shill out. If that wasn't overwhelming enough there were a million colors and breeds. She'd spent a half hour alone weeding through gingers simply because they shared the hue of her own hair. In the end, she didn't go through with it. It was ridiculous to think of these creatures as accessories to bring out the blue of her eyes or something else equally shallow. Though...picking a shorter breed might do wonders for her confidence. She was getting so sick of people always towering over her.

In the end, she abandoned all her research at the last minute and went with the simpler option. Surprise me. Biting her lip, she was regretting her laziness. How could describing yourself over the phone render the perfect choice of a companion? For all she knew she could be saddled with something cold and slimy. Ugh. She needed to stop thinking. It'd be here any minute. Reptile or not, she didn't want to get so nervous she blurted out something....offensive. Wrapping her arms around her frame, she wondered if she should change. Her normal t-shirt and jeans hadn't seemed appropriate. So she wore a form fitting blouse and knee high skirt. They'd make a good impression, but god, anytime her arms crossed her chest it was suffocating.

A knock shattered the apartment's silence. Too late. Pressing down her skirt, Erica gave herself a once over and answered the door. "Um, hello. I'm Erica it's nice to finally meet you..."
