Killing in the Name of... (Closed for ShadesOfGrey)

So very close...

Ivan watched the man whom he had hunted for the past three years stride across the street.

It's cliche, but I can taste it.

Brown eyes tracked the man like a hawk as he entered Cafe Soho. A chiq coffee place just across the street from one of the many office buildings in downtown Dallas, Texas. As soon as the man entered the cafe, Ivan folded his paper, paid the tab for the few coffee's and bottles of water he had downed. He walked with a purpose, but not hurried enough to attract any attention, towards the alley behind Soho that he knew the man would enter into in a few minutes from the back entrance of the cafe. The intelligence was solid, written in blood, Ivan thought to himself with a slight smirk. The smirk disappeared as his mind rewound to the event that made this killing a requirement for him to proceed with his life.

He had gone out for a smoke, a simple cigarette that was supposed to kill him in seventy years had saved his life. The explosion behind him had deafened, shocked, concussed, and nearly ripped his heart in half. The other physical ailments he had gotten over within weeks, the emotional injury still had it's talons dug in deep after all these years. Since then he'd killed others, so many others, to try and make the hurt go away, but all it had done was led to a lack of trust in his supervisors. He had taken the quick, dirty, merciless route out of that organization. Killing his immediate supervisor, one of the few people who actually knew him, and disappearing from the face of the earth to everyone else. Then he had taken jobs, disgusting, brutal, nearly pointless jobs that had finally gotten him within sight of Miguel Carabado. The man who had murdered his wife, children, and morality.

As he walked into the alley, a last glance behind him brought a flashback so strong he stared for a moment longer then usual. Was that... No it could not be her. It cannot be my Amelia. From there on it was business. Ivan turned back to the alley and stepped into a dark outcropping between two of the crooked buildings. Waiting patiently, and pulling his perfectly honed K-Bar military grade knife. This will not be slow and painless for you Miguel. It will be everything you have done to me, and much, much more.

As Miguel stepped from the Cafe, timed seemed to slow, and as the short, fat man walked towards him time seemed to stretch to eternity. When Ivan stepped from his spot, somehow, time grew even slower. Just over Miguel's shoulder, it was easy enough for the tall Russian spy to see over the short Latino, Amelia appeared again. NO! Shouted Ivan's brain, It is NOT her you fool! His heart was in disbelief, and then once again a solid cube of ice. No, it is not her... But it was someone who looked very much like her, and she was holding a small caliber handgun, affixed with a silencer, probably loaded with subsonic rounds, it would be very quiet. The gun was pointed towards him, no, towards Miguel Carabado.

"NO." Ivan snarled, not finishing the rest of his thought; He is mine! As he lunged towards the killer of his family and brought his knife up at the same time. The moments pause had given the short man time enough to back up half a step, and that half a step saved his life as Ivan's blade cut his thick leather jacket diagonally down Miguel's chest, instead of plunging into his throat. The desperate lunge placed Ivan off balance, which he recovered from fast enough to not fall, but not fast enough to stop his target from racing by, and not fast enough to dodge or see the small bullet that thudded into his shoulder and spun him against the wall.

Now he was caught between two things he very much wanted to do at the same time. Kill the bitch, or kill the killer of his family. One look at the girl, and he knew he had to distract her before he could kill Miguel, Miguel would be the target, but now he had to worry about her. She held the weapon confidently, aiming steadily towards Miguel, she was the threat. With a grunt of pain, and effort, Ivan hurled the over sized knife at her, his new target. She was far enough away, and aware enough to have it miss her entirely, but now Miguel was no longer in range for an accurate shot, and Ivan was drawing his own gun. A suppressed .22, with it's own silencer and subsonic rounds. Perhaps even quieter than the new targets, but not nearly as powerful. His rounds were so tiny they would go through the target, not damaging much, nor throwing her against a wall as her weapon had.

The only advantage Ivan had, was a few more rounds in the magazine.

He took full advantage of that, firing a barrage of six bullets. Which left him with eleven more remaining in the seventeen round magazine. Those forced the new target to move, to duck into cover.

Now that she was busy returning fire, Ivan moved to better cover, further from her, and closer to Miguel. Then the new target did something strange. She leaped, grabbed a low hanging fire escape and raced up the steps, then darted towards Miguel's direction. For a moment Ivan didn't understand, and then he did. Miguel was her target, and he was just a bother as she was to him, but she felt no need to kill him. For a moment he felt something, but quickly he pushed it away as he suddenly felt the blood dripping down his arm from the shoulder wound. Fucking bitch...

Darting down the alley way he heard the snaps above his breathing and feet pounding the concrete. She was shooting at Miguel, but now that the target was moving and she was at a different angle, it was a hard shot. Not one Ivan was sure he could even make on the move.

At the end of the alley way several things happened at once. The woman dropped from the rooftop, twisted around a convenient flag poll, and lightly flipped onto the ground. She took a breath, and aimed carefully at Miguel. She would have had him, but Ivan was too close. With a roar he charged his shoulder into hers. The lack of weight surprised him as his mind had forgotten she was a woman, and not another assassin. The light body went flying and flipping as her last shot careened into the cement. It was her last shot, Ivan heard the slide lock to the rear, and saw it as he looked first to the gun, then to her face. Dios mio... Amelia? Up close, the resemblance was uncanny, until he found her eyes. Those, those were too different; not loving and soft, but hard like Ivan's. Their eyes met, and then they both traveled to the small pistol Ivan had aimed between the woman's eyes.

"Don't get in my way again." He said, deadpanned. Before racing into the crowded street. Fuck. Miguel was gone. Too many people, his shoulder was bleeding too fast, months wasted. I should go kill the bitch. But when he turned back to the alley, she was gone.

-

It was months later and Ivan had once again tracked Miguel to a city. It was better than not knowing what country, but it was Miami. Millions of people lived here and in the surrounding cities. It would take time, and he was taking it slowly, making sure that the damned idiot would not get lucky again. This club, Green Edge, was a great place in Miami to get information about the underbelly of the city. It wasn't nice enough for the big bosses, so there was no security, but it also wasn't dirty enough for the really low lives to get comfortable. The middle management of the drug industry was here. Captain's, lieutenant's, sergeant's, the people that made sure day-to-day operations went on without a hitch, but still didn't really get their hands into the actual drug deals.

Sipping a Corona, Ivan watched and listened, mostly watching the girls, mostly listening to the 'soldiers.'

It should all have been so easy. All she had to do was follow Miguel into the alley and put two shots into his back plus a couple more into his head, just like she'd been taught. Then it would be off to get some lunch.

Then that asshole of a mugger had interfered and tried to stick Miguel with some kind of absurdly large knife and rob her of her hard earned paycheck. No way was she having that! Didn't he realise she had rent and bills to pay. She'd sent some shots in the assholes direction and had the satisfaction of seeing him spin away into the wall. She didn't hold any malice towards him but It served him right for getting in her way.

She'd paused then, holding her pistol in a classic double handed grip and taken carefull aim at the rapidly departing Miguel, marveling at how fast the fat little man could run, but before she could pull the trigger the asshole had tried to throw the knife at her but his wound was obviously causing him problems. It was a nice try though. And then it had all gone south big time. The guy had pulled out a gun and had started shooting at her. A gun with a silencer on it. Who the hell was he?

As She'd dived into cover she'd felt a bullet pass close enough to ruffle her hair. Even as he was trying his best to kill her Kelly had never felt so alive as the adrenaline rush kicked in. She'd popped up just long enough to empty her magazine at him, forcing him to take cover too. Then she'd erupted from behind her cover to sprint the short distance to jump up and grab a fire escape ladder. It had been a near suicidal move, but she'd been to hyped up on the danger to think about that. Anyway, the guy wasn't her target, Miguel was. Then she was off and running along the gantry, switching in her spare magazine as she ran. She'd gambled that it was the last thing he'd expect her to do, and she'd been right.

She could hear him running along the ally beneath her even as she tried unsuccessfully to get a clean shot at Miguel. The gantry ended abruptly but she'd leapt onto the handrail and dived off, and used some kind of pole in the manner of a gymnastics bar to break her foreward momentum and drop her safely to the ground. She'd got him. Miguel, obviously tired, was just in front of her. Her pistol came up and she aimed carefully as she tried to control her breathing. Then something hard slammed into her and she went flying, her last bullet going she had no idea where.

Kelly had squealed in pain as she felt her shoulder give way when she'd hit the ground awkwardly, but her gymnastics training and muscle memory caused her to roll clear despite the pain and flip herself upright, only to nearly piss herself in a strange mixture of fear and exitement when she found herself staring down the muzzle of the small caliber pistol the guy was pointing at her. His eyes had said she was dead. It was so unfair. Would it hurt? What about the new dress she'd bought, now she'd never get to wear it. Would she even feel it? What gave him the right to ruin her day like this. The strange jumble of thoughts flickered through her mind as she glared defiantly back at him, unwilling to give him the pleasure of knowing how scared she realy was.

He'd not killed her though. Just warned her to stay out of his way before he'd taken off after Miguel. She'd stood there for a long moment, nursing her dislocated shoulder and shaking shock, feeling fear, exitement and, strangely, arousal, all at the same time, realising how close she'd come to having her career come to an abrupt end. Getting a shaky grip on herself she headed back up the ally the way she'd come. She didn't think it would be a good idea to be around if he changed his mind and came back.

-----

Months had gone past and she'd found out the guys name was Ivan and that he had been something in the KGB. Kelly had been out her league and she knew how lucky she'd been to get away with taking him on head to head. The latest contact with her handler had gone well though but it had suprised her to find out that the contract on Miguel was still open. Now she had the name Miguel was using and an address in Las Vegas. Even better, this time there would be no-one to get between Kelly and her pay cheque.

Now she was after some fun before heading to Vegas the following afternoon.

-----

The club was hot, smokey and already packed with sweaty bodies dancing to the pounding beat of the music blaring from the giant speakers along one wall when Kelly had arrived. It wasn't the most upmarket place in Miami but it was still better than most. A fun place for a night out her handler had suggested she might like.

None of the men there had caught her interest as she'd danced slowly in time to the music, and then she'd caught a glimpse of Ivan at the bar through a gap in the crowd. There was no way she'd ever forget that face. Or the threat. It was obvious why he was there. He wanted payback for her shooting him. It never occured to her to think how he could know she would be there. Even she'd not known that for certain untill she'd arrived.

Kelly was unarmed and needed options before he spotted her. She could probaly get out of there unnoticed but he'd only track her down again, and next time she might not spot him untill it was to late. But was she unarmed? She had her body and her wits. She could use those to distract him untill she could get him back to her hotel room and deal with him. The way the stylish little black dress she was wearing clung enticingly to her supple form would help. It would be so easy. He was a man, he'd be thinking with his prick, plus it wouldn't be the first time she'd enticed a man into her bed and killed him. Decision made she worked her way to the bar, looking confident but with a tight knot in the pit of her stomach as she stood next to him.

"Buy a girl a drink?" Kelly knew she could pull this off. Would she fuck him first? Mixing business and pleasure was such fun, a deadly game that was irresistable.

Ivan was armed with only a knife this night. A short, sharp, and deadly SIG Tactical. It was even more deadly in his hands, and that was where his first thought went when he spotted, Kelly, that was her name, headed towards him at the bar. He had researched her a little, managing to capture her face on one of the many camera's that faced the busy streets outside the alley where their intense, but brief, first meeting had been held. A free lancer, high spirited, and afraid of nothing. Overconfident. That was Ivan's first thought when reading the rather pathetic dossier he'd managed to get his hands on. Overconfident, but skilled. He reminded himself just before another memory came blazing through of Amelia in a dress similar, but not exactly the same as the one that Kelly wore. It was the night his first child was conceived, Ivan was convinced of it, they had been attending an embassy function and while Ivan was supposed to have been working, Amelia had caught his eyes and it had been very hard for him to keep focused the rest of the party. After the party, he'd pursued, and she'd been willing. The rest was history. Dead history now.

"Buy a girl a drink?" She asked in a rather seductive, but excited voice.

Ivan thought, briefly, about just killing her right then and there. He knew his face had given away nothing he as his mind ran along various reasons for Kelly being here. Other then his current employer turning him in, there was no way she could have followed him, it had to be chance. There was no way his current employer had given him up, the man was now dead, and probably inside the stomach of an alligator. But how she had gotten here was probably irrelevant at this point, the more pressing point was what she was up to, was it just play, or something else?

"Perhaps you should be the one to buy me a drink," Ivan spoke in unaccented English, with very little hesitation that gave away it was only his third language of several. Even as he spoke he waved the bartender closer, he had been giving good tips the last few hours, and the man hurried over. "As you were the one who shot me." He finished just before the bartender arrived, "Whatever the lady is having, and another Corona." Handing over a twenty, he added, "Keep the change."

Kelly looked good, and while very much like his Amelia, it was always the eyes he came back to. There was no softness, not even with her seductive pose and clingy clothing. It was all excitement, adventure, and confidence. Very overconfident. Thought Ivan to himself as he allowed his eyes to travel up, and down her figure. It certainly was enticing, and with his knife only a split-second movement away, he thought it might be possible that she would be a good lay, if indeed that was all she had come over for. Perhaps a sympathy fuck? Ivan allowed a smile to curve over his face at that thought, even though his eyes continued to show naught but morbid interest in what was going on in front, and indeed all around him. As soon as he'd finished his glance, and check for a weapon, his eyes had moved around the room to make sure no backup was present. Already his ears were tuning in again to the conversations that floated around, trying to pick out the name Miguel.

Kelly studied him as she approached. It was her first realy good look at him. Even in her heels he was a lot taller than she was and looked to be in good shape; Taller, heavier and far stronger than she would ever be. Even distracted by sex, taking him would be risky, but risky was fun, exiting. The ultimate turn-on.

Her mind wandered back to the first man she'd ever killed. He had been such a fool, and he'd thought he was so clever taking advantage of a young girl. Under normal circumstances he would have easily been able to protect himself and overpower her, but the little something she'd slipped into his drink had made sure she had an unfair, and for him, fatal, advantage. It had been so easy. She'd simply sat astride his chest and held the pillow down on his face untill his inefective struggles subsided and he eventualy stopped moving. She'd continued to hold the pillow in place for a long time, scared he might come back to life, but he never did. She'd never imagined it could be so easy to take a life. Not that she'd killed him. The pillow had done that. All Kelly had done was hold it in place. He had been the first man to die in her bed. He wouldn't be the last.

"And you dislocated my shoulder." Kelly whispered back just as softly when the bartender went to get their orders. "Still, I hope it didn't hurt to much." Actualy she hoped it had hurt a lot. She'd not been aiming for his shoulder. She was lethal with the little walther up to around fifty feet, after that her accuracy fell off rapidly unless she took her time and aimed carefully. Still, she liked that gun. She'd fallen in love with it's sleek, sexy lines as soon as she'd first seen it. "Gin and tonic please." she told the bartender.

She smiled impishly as his eyes took her in, well aware of how the dress followed the contours of her body as she shifted her stance slightly. His smile was nice even if it didn't reach his eyes. The impression was of someone cold, callous and very dangerous, exactly the kind of man she found so irresistable. So irresistable she'd already decided to let him fuck her stupid before killing him, He seemed distracted though. As if he had something else on his mind. No. She couldn't take the risk that he wasn't there after him. She had to kill him. He could be acting, to lure her into a false sense of security. His being there was to much of a coincidence to be an accident.

"Did you ever catch up with, what was his name, Miguel?" She knew full well he hadn't, she was just pushing his buttons, fishing for a reaction to see if he was still hunting the little fat man down. Could she get him to delay trying to kill her? The idea of a rematch against him in Vegas, the chance to prove she was better than him, made her tingle with suppressed exitement.

Their drinks had arrived, so she slipped hers slowly as she waited to see his reaction.

"And you dislocated my shoulder."

The come back was well timed and quite in proportion with the playfulness that Ivan had hoped to hear. It pushed other conversations closer to the front of his mind, and expanded his eavesdropping a bit more. This one was fishing, what for still needed to be found out, but for now it was only talk.

"Still, I hope it didn't hurt to much."

Ivan's smile returned for that comment. Bullshit. Another fact was added to Ivan's mental file of Kelly; he had known she enjoyed her work, but had not known that she enjoyed all the details and experiences associated with it. Normally, spies, and even assassins enjoyed their work and the rewards that came with it. However, even then there were things that not all of them liked, like missing a target just to cause pain in another, and while she had meant to kill him she still enjoyed the fact that he had been injured and didn't mind that Miguel had escaped.

"Gin and tonic please."

The choice wasn't quite what Ivan had hoped for. Something with more alcohol would have enabled him to place his concerns and doubts into the furthest reaches of his mind. Still more accessible to him then what civilians remembered, but it would have meant that Kelly was entirely innocent of any wrongdoing at this particular moment. She could have not made up her mind, and decided later, but not ordering a shot, or tequila, or whatever women typically used to make themselves forgetful of the nights events meant she had decided something. What it was, Ivan still had yet to pin down.

"Did you ever catch up with, what was his name, Miguel?"

That brought the smile away from Ivan's face, and narrowed the level conversations he was hearing to precisely one. Replacing the smile was a hard look, and perhaps one of the few that ever showed emotion upon his face. If this bitch has killed him already... But she could not have, and he took relief from that enough to return his face to it's normal dead pan. Kelly enjoyed this too much, and if she had she would have led with the fact that she had already killed the man. While good, there was little to no subtlety in her yet, that came with experience. While she had experience enough to make her confident, she did not have enough to see that no one in the business was perfect and to learn from any mistakes. If she had made any, before our meeting. Ivan thought about it for a moment and decided that she really hadn't made any mistakes, except deciding the target was more important than him. Of course, he had made the same mistake, hadn't he?

"No. Unfortunately. It's costing me."

The last bit was added for Kelly's benefit, there was a part of Ivan that wanted to tell her it was personal, but that would not due. Perhaps she'd realize what he meant, but probably she would assume it meant his employer was unhappy. Which is true, he reflected, I too would be unhappy being dead and digested.

"You were impressive, Kelly," He said. Revealing that he had looked her up, and feeding her confidence. "Especially the acrobatics... I don't think I have seen anyone so... Flexible, before, at least not on the television." Turning on a bit of charm never hurt anyone, and she was gorgeous, it would also help to make more notes about Kelly's state of mind and perhaps help him guess her next move, two or three moves would help even more.

Just because Kelly got off on taking risks with her life didn't mean she was stupid. A lot of very smart, inteligent people were a little crazy, a fact many people chose to ignore at their peril. The drink she'd ordered wasn't very original but the proportion of alcohol to tonic lessened the chances of her getting more than just slightly tipsy. Which was no bad thing considering the kind of men she was attracted to, and she knew Ivan wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of the situation if she got drunk.

It was a shame things were the way they were. If things had been different Kelly knew she could have learned a lot from Ivan but she would never have been able to trust him in the slightest.

Whatever it was about Miguel, it certainly got to him. The change in his expression, the way his body tensed up was unmistakable. If she wanted confirmation that he was there to try and kill her then he'd just given it to her. He wanted payback either for getting in the his way or for injuring him.

"You're still looking for him then?" The comment about costing him was interesting. It could imply he was losing money looking for him or losing work because of his failure, but getting up close with a knife suggested it was personal. Was he after settling a personal score and the money was just the icing on the cake. That would make sense. "You know you cost me a nice paycheck there."

"Thanks." She was obviously pleased at the compliments he gave her. "I was a lot better at school. I just don't seem to get the time to keep up with the training nowadays though." She realy did try not to be, but she was a total sucker for some compliments coupled with a smidgin of gratuous praise. Throw in a little more alcohol than might be wise and she was a complete pushover for any man she found attractive.

"So impressed you said you were going to kill me," She sipped her drink slowly and looked thoughtfully at him. "and I bet you went right back to that alley to do it too." There wasn't any malice towards him in the words. It was just the way things were.

A plan was taking shape in her mind; as long as he thought she was usefull he'd put off killing her, and the longer that happened the greater the chances of her successfully turning the tables on him.

Miguel seemed to be the key.

"So what brought you here tonight? You don't look the dancing type." Would he ask her to dance. She liked that idea, even given the situation, or maybe because of it. Of course Kelly already knew the answer to that question, she was just curious to see if he had the balls to admit it to her face.

"So impressed you said you were going to kill me," She sipped her drink slowly and looked thoughtfully at him. "and I bet you went right back to that alley to do it too."

Ivan nodded appreciatively of her nonchalance, and to confirm her judgement. That was one lesson that younger agents often failed to realize, the fact that it was all simply business. He had meant to go back and kill her, but sitting here now in the club, a small part of him was rather glad that he had not. Chatting up an 'opponent' was nearly the most 'fun' thing he had done in a very long time. Kelly was interesting, in the very least, and her seductive body had not gone unnoticed in the least. It was really only the gnawing question of what she was up to that kept Ivan from really enjoying himself. Maybe I do not need to know? He asked himself as he glanced over Kelly's face and neckline once again. Caution was an old friend, and maybe he needed new ones?

"So what brought you here tonight? You don't look the dancing type."

Again, a smile was brought to Ivan's face, and though it took considerable force to bring the smile out. He did not begrudge it all that much. He hesitated in answering, deciding whether or not to tell Kelly his true purpose, knowing that she might be able to help him. Knowing also that she could also very easily decide to not help him, and make things quite difficult. During the extended pause he realized that between the timing and his previous reaction to Miguel he had probably given her the truth anyways, it would not have been that hard to figure out either. However, that also gave him all the evidence he was looking for; she had showed up by chance, and was trying to find out what he was up to, perhaps believing that he was tracking her down to extract revenge. Now she would know that he only wanted Miguel, and still considered Kelly only an unlucky surprise that had cost them both money, and him a little more heartburn in his quest for revenge. Well, she would never know that. Ivan decided that quickly, and he also decided that he was 'safe' though it was certainly temporary and relative.

"No, I'm not nearly as graceful as you," He said, before continuing, "But I am here to relax, and do not mind being outclassed."

Ivan's eyes darted briefly from Kelly to the dance floor before returning to her lithe form, "Would you care to dance?" He held up his beer then, ready to drain it, whether she said yes or no.

Kelly gave a wry smile when he nodded to comfirm he'd gone back to the alley to put her out of his misery. It was a good thing she'd decided not to be around when he got back. She doubted he'd have had a problem doing it even though she was unarmed and injured. At least she now knew the rules, that he'd kill her if he had to. Still, it was strange to be sitting there discussing her death as if they were just talking about the days happenings in the office. But then, in a way that was what they were doing. She noticed the way he looked at her and smiled slightly. Was he actualy glad she hadn't been in the alley when he'd returned.

So he was still after Miguel, and for personal reasons, which would make their meeting nothing more than an accident. Or was that just what he wanted her to think. After all, he'd just admitted to having wanted to end her life. She could help him, but she would never be able to realy trust him. After all, Miguel was still on her to-do list. But he wouldn't be on it for long. She could offer him a deal, her up to date information on Miguel in exchange for half the money and a promise to stay away from the fat little man, but could she trust him to keep his half of the bargain. He didn't strike her as the sharing type. Or she could share her information and get the opportunity to finish what they'd started in the alley. Anyway, she didn't have to make a final decision untill later, but if she did decide to help him then any *truce* between them would only last untill their paths crossed again in Vegas. Then all bets would be off. The thought of that meant was disturbingly exiteing.

"I'm sure you have other, hidden talents you could show me." She laughed. "If you wanted to." Preferably not of the getting Kelly dead type of talent, she thought to herself.

"Why thank you kind sir," She stood and downed her drink in one go. "I thought you'd never ask." Putting her glass on the bar she headed out onto the dance floor, intentionaly adding a seductive swing to her hips as she flashed him a wicked grin over her shoulder. Once out onto the dance floor she spun around to face him and began to move with an undulating, loose-limbed grace in time to the musics rhythm as she enticed him to follow her.

After finishing his beer, and while heading towards the suddenly even more sexy looking agent, Ivan firmed up his last remaining thoughts. This was for fun, that was something he'd been ill-practiced at ever since the death of Amelia. It's almost too easy to sink back into though, he thought it was perhaps because of how similar Kelly was to his dead wife, but that seemed like an excuse. Perhaps I do need new friends, but caution is not a friend I can let go of so easily. His well trained mind had made one last scan of Kelly's form, front and back, admiring the sleek lines and nice curves and noticing nothing out of the ordinary. Other than a very small blade, or one shot pistol there was absolutely no way she had any hidden weapon on her persona. He decided to take a chance on a few things; the first and most important being that there was no chance he would catch Miguel's name in the crowd this night. The second was a chance for fun, something he had not enjoyed in quite some time, but also something that he could experience whenever he wanted. It seemed to him, that he wanted it now. The third and perhaps more immediately important than Miguel was the fact that Kelly was not specifically here to kill him. There was no way she had planned for it, or any other reason. Perhaps she would try to gain more information, or just keep tabs on him to let her employer know, whatever the actual case. She was not planning on killing him this instant.

That is good enough. Ivan thought to himself.

Stepping onto the dance floor, he walked with easy steps towards Kelly's writhing form that was actually quite exquisite out on the darkened dance floor. As he stepped into her easy embrace, he placed both hands slightly low on her hips. The music and movement quickly brought them closer, and her smell was infectious. Just the right amount of perfume to allow her natural musk permeate his nose. The light tendrils of her hair brushed against the two days of stubble on Ivan's jawline as he leaned forwards to whisper in her ear, "You are even better at this," What this was, both of them probably had their own definition, "I could show you many things, but only a few are as pleasant as your dancing." These words were spoken in a deep, bass tone, that carried underneath the higher pitched dance music. Not to mention Ivan's lips brushed against Kelly's ears as he spoke the words, assuring that they were heard.

The only dancing Ivan had ever truly learned was the much faster paced kind from the Latino culture, full of spins, twists, fast footwork and breathtaking clutches. Yet this slower, intimate, almost melodic dance did not fail to raise his blood pressure just as well as the music of his past. It helped that Kelly was there, guiding his hips and feet with her own subtle body suggestions that Ivan was quite adept at picking up already. After being trained for years on how to subdue, disable, disarm, damage, and ultimately kill people in close proximity he found that his training applied nearly as readily to dancing as it did to fighting. Perhaps that was why many of the different styles he had learned were considered Martial Dance as opposed to simply Martial Arts.

Glancing to Kelly's eyes he noticed something that he had not yet picked up, a hunger that was not unfamiliar to him. Ivan's wife had looked at him like this many a time, and twice it had resulted in a child. The look both chilled him, and set his blood hot. It was not that he had not taken a woman since his wife's death, it was simply that none of them had looked at him like that before. Ivan was sure Kelly could feel the small increase of pressure between his legs, just as he could, and a half-grin split his face. Still not reaching his eyes, but that was something even his wife had trouble doing, and Ivan had never really noticed.

She still didn't entirely trust him even though it appeared from what he'd said, or rather what he hadn't said, that their meeting was just a chance encounter. Was he armed? She couldn't see any evidence of a gun but that didn't mean her wasn't carrying a weapon. If he was, it would be something small, a knife or a garrote perhaps, or did he enjoy using just his hands. Thinking about it, Ivan did seem to be the type who would enjoy using his hands. That thought sent a little shiver running through her body. Did he know about her liking for breath control or of the intense sexual high she got from the very real danger of running out of air and time?

Then there was the whole Miguel thing. What was it between Ivan and Miguel? She doubted Ivan would tell her. He just didn't seen the type to open up to anyone, especialy over anything personal. Should she help him with information? She thought she might if he asked, even though she knew it would bring them into direct confrontation again within a few days. Miguel was hers. Her handler didn't like failure, and It would be her opportunity to redeem herself in his eyes.

When Ivan joined her, Kelly lifted her arms to rest them on his shoulders while they danced, liking the feel of his hands on her hips, holding her even though they did restrict her movements somewhat. The sensation of his breath against her ear. What was wrong with spending a few brief hours enjoying each others company even if they were deadly rivals playing out a dangerous game to its inevitable conclusion.

"You are even better at this,"

"Better at this than... what?" She asked procatively even though she was obviously pleased at the compliment. Kelly could guess the answer. One day she was so going to show him how wrong he was. But not tonight.

"I could show you many things, but only a few are as pleasant as your dancing."

"I'd like that." Kelly murmured, hot breath and a warm, wet tongue following the words to explore the contours of his ear. She did wonder if they were thinking about the same things though.

Kelly had always enjoyed a good night out dancing after completing a job, losing herself in the rythym of the music surrounded by others going about their oh so mundane and boring lives before ending the night doing it with some lucky hunk she'd picked up. It was a good way to relax, to forget the realities of her life. Not that Kelly had ever caused anyones death. No, she was just the catalyst that set in motion a chain of events that ended with the arrival of some small peices of lead inside her victims body. It was those bits of lead that were the direct cause of her victims death, not Kelly.

Tonight was different though. She'd never socialised with a rival before, or someone who'd tried to kill her, and it was turning into a novel, but fun experience. That he was attractive, and that she kept wondering what it would feel like to have her legs wrapped around him didn't help.

There was something about Ivan that reminded her of the actor Jason Statham and the kind of parts he played. Not so much Statham's looks but the suggestion of suppressed violence, of always being in control of himself that he portrayed. She had a soft smile on her face as she slowly began to move against him, grinding herself firmly against him in time to the music, well aware of the effect she was having on his body. Staring into those cold, callous eyes that had seen so much death she realised she wanted him. Wanted the most dangerous man she'd ever met more than she'd ever wanted a man before, if only for a few short hours. She wanted to shatter that composure. To make him want her more than anything else in the world. To shatter that carefully crafted mask and see the man hiding behind it. To have him thinking with his prick and not his brain.

The music changed and Kelly twirled away from him, a dreamy smile on her face, her movements becoming more energetic as she flaunted her supple, nubile body off, letting his see what was on offer, her hair forming a dark swirling halo around her head as she ran her hands over her body. Her smile might have been dreamy but her eyes were wild with exitement as she danced only for him, oblivious to everyone else around them as she moved slowly around him in a circle, forcing him to turn with her if he wanted to keep his eyes on her.

When the next track came on, it was slower and more romantic. Kelly came to a halt in front of him so she could slip her arms around his neck and press her firm body up against his. Face flushed, Kelly wet her suddenly dry lips with the tip of her tongue.

But what if she was wrong, that their meeting wasn't an accident?

"I'd like that."

Ivan felt a tingle trickle from his ear down the side of his neck and after that a butterfly fluttering in his stomach. Then it turned from a tingle into the smallest shock in his groin. It wasn't overwhelming, but it simply kept coming as Kelly toyed with the easily captured attention of his testosterone. Nothing but the automatic part of his brain remained focused on his surroundings. Only his sub-consciousness was checking for the wrong kind of glance from one of the 'gangsters' or thugs that were sharing this experience with him to one degree or another. The rest of him was fully focused on Kelly. First, it was the lick, and very quickly after it was the seductive grinding as her feminine body brushed against his in that ridiculously sensuous way a woman could. The contrast was even better with Kelly, somehow her strong muscles and well trained body became a soft and seductive tool that could make nearly anyone forget she was a killer.

Third was when Kelly flew away from him, and already Ivan did not like the fact that her body was away from his. He missed the touch, though he did not miss it with his heart, only his head and masculinity wished it to return. It was worth the wait though, as Kelly seemed to float into a different sphere of being where only the music from this world existed. The music, her, and him, Ivan realized belatedly. Perhaps, tonight I am a lucky man, he thought to himself as he turned to follow Kelly with his eyes. Visually seeing, but not quite understanding the fact that many other men in the club where doing nearly the same thing. Though all of their thoughts were simply that Ivan was a very lucky man, or would be, within a few hours.

Next were the eyes, and for only a brief second Ivan remembered they were not Amelia's, but the thought seemed silly. Of course they aren't! It is Kelly, how he was so comfortable knowing that she was not his dead wife did not in the least concern him.

When Kelly came back into his arms Ivan caught the flush on her face and light of excitement within her eyes. That he had caused the look added another bit of a jolt to his manhood. She was a sexy, young, exciting girl that probably could have any man in this room if she wished, and she had picked him only months after they had nearly killed each other. Certainly, that was part of the reason she picked him, it was like playing with fire, Ivan thought to himself as a final reminder of what was really happening. But certainly there were other men within this club dangerous like he was, but not as dangerous, Ivan thought with a smirk.

Leaning over, he rubbed his jaw against the nape in Kelly's neck and whispered into her ear, "I think I will show you."

He spoke with command, but also noting that Kelly was really the one who had started it.

"As soon as you'd like." He added, just the smallest of hints that he was ready to leave, if she was too.

"I think I will show you." he'd said, then added, "As soon as you'd like."

She'd sighed happily when he'd rubbed his stubble against her, raising little goose bumps on her skin even though she could still sense his detachment. She'd seen the way his eyes had followed her, drinking in her every movement but there was no emotional involvement with her as a person. It was as if part of him was just an observer watching what was happening between them. The way he'd smirked told her he thought he was in charge of the game, but for now at least, Kelly knew she was the one in control, but she wanted much more. She wanted him to show her how much he wanted her, and by how much she'd thawed his frosty exterior. Even if it was only an act.

"Not yet." His lack of involvement bothered her. Apart from his hands on her hips Ivan hadn't even tried to hold her, or kiss her. It just wasn't natural. She could understand his not wanting to get emotionally involved, but for a girl like Kelly, who liked a man to show his interest with at least a little public intimacy, his lack of physical involvement was more than a little frustrating. Kelly wasn't stupid, She knew any indication of warmth towards her, beyond that required to satisfy his own gratuitous sexual needs would nothing but an act, that Ivan would end her life with the same detached enthusiasm he'd make love to her.

Grasping his hands Kelly placed them firmly back on her hips and started moving to the music again, drawing him into her dance, wanting his hands exploring her body as they danced. He wasn't just some stranger she'd picked up for a night of mindless sex, he was the man who'd tried to kill her.

That made him very special.

Ivan's smirk turned quickly to a smile of amusement at the delay that Kelly placed upon the almost certainty of the night. It wasn't a smile that placed him above her either, just the smile of someone who realized he had made a little mistake, and was a little embarrassed. One drink, and two songs were hardly enough to get even the sluttiest of women off the dance floor, unless they were getting paid for it. He knew that Kelly was nothing close to any of those girls, she knew what she wanted, but she also knew the rules that were required to be followed in order for Ivan to give her what she wanted. In some ways, women have all of the advantages. He thought to himself as he brought Kelly close to him again, and patiently waited for the song to change. As he waited, his hands did explore a little more than before, though he felt as if he'd hardly had the time to do so before anyways. The dress made it easy for his hands to slide smoothly up her hips, under her arms, and to bring her hands above her head before leaning in for a brush of his lips against hers. Nothing firmer, but enough to let the feeling linger.

Slowly his hands traced back down, one along her spine, and the other carefully down between her breasts as he allowed Kelly to tip over backwards slowly.

Ivan followed her with his face, leaning over to keep their faces within inches. Once again he brushed his lips against hers just as his hand brushed between her legs and slipped against the inside of Kelly's thighs. Almost as if on cue, the slower R&B faded. The moment seemed to freeze momentarily as someone speaking excitable Spanish came on the PA system. Ivan's smile brightened as he recognized what was about to happen. The blaring, face paced, acoustic guitar laden music swept over them and immediately the sensuality of slowness was replaced by the sexy, forceful, tongue rolling Hispanic music. As this was Miami, Ivan knew it would come sooner or later, and he was glad for the perfect timing.

Sweeping Kelly from her backwards bow, he now took the lead, twisting her about time and time again until she was wrapped into his bear arms against his chest. With purpose, but carefully, his arm slid up and across her neck while squeezing ever so slightly until it reached her jaw. Ivan tilted Kelly's head so that she looked up and back into his eyes, again their lips brushed before Ivan spun Kelly away from him. His movements were strong a fluid, it was obvious he was very used to do this, and his feet moved so perfectly that even if Kelly had a misstep, it would look planned. Twirling together, apart, and together again as the music coursed through their bodies and the crowd that now filled the dance floor. As Kelly was again rushed towards him by his own insistent hand Ivan bent one knee and allowed her to basically trip over the extended leg, but before she could fall or stumble he had twirled her into a flip over his shoulder, and landing softly behind him. Kelly's gymnastics served her well, for she did land gracefully as ever. Now Ivan looked over his shoulder and clasped Kelly's hands so that they rose up his firm chest, until they were perched just upon his neck.

"I enjoy this music, quite greatly, if you cannot tell." He whispered, before leaning in for another brushing of lips. Only this time, he seized hers harder, and his tongue parted Kelly's lips to brush against her own.

Kelly was more than a little suprised when Ivan began to take a more active role, his hands brushing slowly up her flanks as gently as a butterflys wings so as to lift her arms over her head before he leaned in to brush his lips teasingly against hers . Not that she was about to complain. Far from it. Still, she couldn't help wondering if it was little more than a well practiced routine to conceal the coldness within him.

For a moment She thought he was going for a quick grope of her breasts but she was wrong, as instead he used his hand to appy pressure and tip her over backwards, following her down to keep their faces close enough that she could feel his breath against her skin. She could feel his hand caressing her inner thighs even as his lips brushed against hers again. A spark of arousal flashed through her body at his touch and then was gone just a quickly when the music stopped. The moment spoilt by the over-exited babbling of the DJ speaking in spanish, which she didn't understand a word of.

The music restarted, a fast paced hispanic beat that wasn't a style of music Kelly was particulary fond of but it was Miami so it was to be expected. She much prefered the sound of what was sometimes refered to as classic British rock from the seventies and eighties, and she'd always wished she could have experienced listening to those classics performed live in concert when they were still fresh and new. Then, without warning he was off, sweeping her into a series of fast twists untill she came to rest with her back to him, his arms holding him tight against her in a bear hug.

For an instant her eyes registered exitement, even antisipation, when his arm pressed lightly against her throat. Not enough to hurt or restrict her ability to breath, just the merest indication of what he could, or might, do. He knows! The thought flashed through her mind along with how much stronger he was, and how vulnerable that made her. Her head was tilted further back and again there was just the slightest contact as his lips brushed against hers. Then he was off again, moving her through a series of fast twirls and Kelly was glad she'd practiced the more fluid, interpreted style of Gymnastics floor work instead of concentrating only on the bar work she much prefered, as it did at least prevent her tripping over her own, or his, feet. She laughed in glee as he flipped her over his shoulder, landing lightly behind him, using him like a pole of made of hard muscle and flesh.

As much as Kelly wanted to see and explore this other side of Ivans personality she knew it would just make it harder when the time came and she had to do the inevitable and bring a permanent end to his career when they again clashed over who would collect on Miguel.

"I enjoy this music, quite greatly, if you cannot tell."

"I would never have guessed." Kelly laughed even though she still had her doubts about if she was at least catching a glimpse of the man behind the mask. Would she be like Ivan in a few years time? She hoped not. Then he'd leaned in again for another kiss, more forcefully this time, his tongue pushing past her lips, and she'd responded by drawing him into a long, wet sensuous kiss as her tongue played with his before letting her tongue become more aggressive and invading his mouth.

As Kelly returned the kiss Ivan found himself wishing for two things. The first being a simple, half-heart wish that the vacuum where his soul was could for a moment return. The second a profoundly stronger wish that he had no reason to stop or argue with was to sweep this dangerously seductive woman off the floor and into a bed. Neither could happen at this particular moment, the first possibly could never happen, but Ivan did not think about that. Instead he focused on it being at the very least a possibility. The second would simply not happen now, but it could very well happen shortly and that was much easier to push his energy and thought into now. He accepted her kiss aggressively, touching her tongue whenever he could and allowing passion to flow through not only where their mouths met, but also where his hands touched her soft body.

The next two songs were very similar in pace and style, and Ivan danced to them as he had the first one.

He thought that the music was perhaps exciting him more than it was Kelly, but he was sure that he made up for the fact in the way he made sure to give her all of the attention. His hands touched her nearly everywhere, and quite soon he was sure that he knew every curve of her body save for perhaps the most important; between her legs. She had a few points of pleasure that Ivan would have never guessed looking at her, but with all this time to explore he found them. Strangely enough they all related closely to the vulnerable places he had been taught for years to attack with power and ferocity to immobilize or kill an opponent. Only now he attacked them with teasing, brushing, and tiny spikes of pain that might have hurt a fly, but would only inflame Kelly's passion.

The first, most obvious, and most tempting was her throat and neck. The entire area seemed to be an erotica zone for Kelly. Anytime that Ivan gripped, nibbled, or merely breathed on that creamy flesh she either tensed or sighed deeply. Ivan enjoyed any of her reactions, and focused most of his attention on that area, once even stopping the air from leaving her chest for the briefest of seconds. At first he was not sure if he had squeezed too hard, or if she had simply forgot to breath because she liked the feeling so much. The second time he squeezed was slightly harder, and he was sure that he saw a glint of satisfaction and excitement in her eyes.

The other places were not nearly as exciting, he was sure, but they still drew many reactions from Kelly. As he twisted her around and found her arms locked behind her, and squeezed against his chest, Ivan had inadvertently given them a slight tug upwards. If it had been a fight he could have dislocated both her shoulders, but instead the slight increase of pain had found Kelly shuddering against him. Once, as his hand squeezed the inside of her thigh where a bundle of nerves rested, he'd squeezed a little harder and heard the tiniest of squeak from her mouth. Perhaps she was ticklish, so the next time instead of a squeeze it was a pinch where he would normally chop with his powerful fist to send his enemies leg into a dull numbness. This time he was sure that her breath caught in a hitch. Finally the last one he had quiet stumbled upon came as he had once against wrapped her into a bear hug against him, but this time her delicate fingers were wrapped within his larger and stronger ones. He had squeezed a little too hard as the bulge in his pants slid across her tight ass. In a fight he would have broken both the middle and index fingers on each hand. In a dance, he had simply squeezed a little tighter as he held her against him. Once again, he felt some reaction contracting the muscles in her butt.

Unfortunately the dancing came to an end as some punkish thug requested rap. Ivan was glad to find that Kelly did not enjoy the animal humping now occurring on the dance floor. "Another drink?" He asked, curious what would happen now that he thought Kelly was as nearly turned on as he looked. The lights of the club, and his racing heart had livened previously cold blue eyes into a thawed excitement. Ivan ordered their drinks, taking a double-shot of vodka for himself to throw down, and another corona to sip. The vodka was shit here, but at least it was strong.

Kelly kissed him greedily, hinting at the fire within her. A fire she was determined would melt through Ivans icey exterior to find the man hiding within. If that was even possible.

The music was to loud, to frenetic, for Kelly's tastes, and she didn't realy like it, much prefering the Northern European style of music she'd been brought up on. There were far better dancers around them but gymnastics floor work in many ways resembled a kind of solo dance so that training had helped her interpret Ivan's cues as they danced. Admitedly there were far better dancers around her but she doubted anyone was scoring her performance, except possibly herself. Anyway, Ivan didn't seem to be complaining about her efforts judging from how she seemed to be the total focus of his attention dispite the far from perfect way she interpreted the various dance moves, or perhaps Ivan was to preoccupied with exploring her body as he tried to work out what she liked to notice.

And find out he did.

Kelly couldn't help the sighs and soft gasps of suppressed pleasure that escaped her in reponse to his wandering hands as they alternated from soft, gentle stroking to a more forcefull grip and even sometimes, a pinch.

From the way he quickly concentrated his attention on her neck and throat, not just kissing and nuzzling the soft skin, but the way he applied just enough pressure to restrict her breathing reflex told her Ivan had worked out she was a gasper, but did he have any idea of the effect he was having on her, or the growing dampness between her legs when he did that?

Even so, the effect his bearhug had had on her suprised even Kelly because no-one had ever done that to her before. Breathing out was easy, but breathing in had taken a real effort and she'd reacted with an involuntary grinding of her bum hard against the bulge in his pants.

As much as Kelly enjoyed normal sex, it was just that having her ability to breath restricted was that little extra something that could turn great sex into a totaly mind blowing experience. But Ivan was a professional killer and he was quickly learning what buttons to push to turn her on. What if he did it for real? His unpredictability, the feeling of vulnerability both scared and exited her.

Having her throat nuzzled and kissed by a lover had always been a massive turn-on but at the same time she absolutely hated love bites or any kind of visible bruising; it always seemed to her that it was just like when you saw some animal in a wildlife program on TV pissing on a tree to mark it's territory, and Kelly was no-ones territory, or property.

She knew some girls got off on what to all intents and purposes was being strangled during sex because they enjoyed not just the violence but the danger of their situation if their partner took the game to far. That realy wasn't Kelly's thing though. What did it for Kelly was having her breathing restricted in such a way that she could still breath, but with difficulty, all the while knowing her body wasn't getting anywhere near enough air to meet it's demands for oxygen. The danger was just as real, it just took longer.

Even though Kelly was something of an anglophile, punk was something she wished the British had kept to themselves instead of inflicting it on the rest of an an unsuspecting world, so she'd nodded gratefully when he'd asked if she wanted another drink.

There had been an unmistakable look of exitement in Ivan's eyes as they'd made their way back to the bar, but was it just a physical reaction to the contact of their bodies or something more?

She'd quickly downed her gin and tonic when it arrived and then ordered another. This time she sipped more slowly at the drink while staring into his eyes as if trying to see into his mind and decide on his intentions towards her.

Ivan realized quickly that he was being observed heavily. Kelly's eyes were trying to bore a hole into his mind, and were failing just as badly as everyone else who had tried. It was one of the things that not even Ivan could control anymore. His dead eyes were not a reflex, a cover, or a face mask that he used to cover the lack of emotions within. The simple fact was that someone had taken those emotions from him, and until Miguel paid there was no way for him to even bring them back. Even then, not even Ivan knew if he would be able to bring them back. What was present was what Ivan was able to muster without being able to dig any deeper. Excitement, enjoyment, and pleasure all swam in his eyes without him even trying. That was easy to tell, because there was no measurement to how they made his eyes dance even with the lingering deadliness behind. He did not mind that Kelly was searching for something, and he did not even think about changing what was displayed on his face at the moment, instead he stared back with a soft smile.

The eye-lock broke as Ivan sipped his beer, but the playfulness did not disappear from his eyes even when he turned back to look at the dance floor, considering the other dancers and deciding none were nearly as into each other as he and Kelly had been.

Turning back to his, date? He smiled reflexively at the thought and when a curious look crossed Kelly's eyes he decided to tell her, "I asked myself what you were, and thought it was like a date." The thought was funny to her, just as it had been to him. Two assassins on a date? Ridiculous. Yet, it was true, no? Da. Ivan thought to himself as he paid for another shot of shitty vodka, and another beer along with Kelly's drinks. Turning to her, he pushed his stool closer so that he could lean over without standing and speak into her ear as the music again got louder.

"What next?"

Ivan was curious as to what she thought, any other women throwing the signals that Kelly had been all night would be in his bed right now, but it almost felt like Kelly was waiting for something. Something to change, and Ivan had no idea what that was, not in the least. He was as loose and casual as he had ever been for as long as he could remember, and as loose as he was going to get. Only the smallest, and smartest part of his brain was running on auto-pilot at this moment; double checking glances in their direction, and listening only to the tone of conversation to see if it became hostile. Everything else was focused on Kelly, and the rising libido that was pushing him into such casualness.

She'd been glad when they'd gone back to the bar because it had become obvious that she had been enjoying what Ivan had been doing to her just a little to much for her own good. Finding a man willing to indulge her sexual kinks was always hard, but she suspected Ivan would enjoy satisfying her more unusual sexual needs with an enthusiasm that could be far from healthy for her.

Then there was Miguel. She doubted that he would take kindly to finding out she was still after the little fat man. If they did go head to head again over Miguel then if she had to she would need to use the weakness he'd shown back in that alley against him.

The way Ivan had looked back at the dance floor had made her wonder if he wanted to dance again, or if he was possibly comparing her own rather poor efforts against the other dancers, many who were far more skilled at that style of dancing than she was.

"I asked myself what you were, and thought it was like a date."

She'd laughed at that, but then, in a way it was a date. After all, she had gone to that club to pick up a man. She'd just not expected that man to be another assassin. A surreal image of them them going at it like rabbits when *off duty* and trying their hardest to end the others life while *at work* flitted through her mind. Now that was an absurdly exiting thought.

"What next?"

What next? That was the question. It still disturbed her that all she could read in his eyes was pleasure and that he seemed to enjoy her company, but that was all. There was nothing to give away his future intentions towards her. That bothered her. That and the way he'd so quickly worked out how to push her buttons. If his intentions were hostile then sleeping with him would make her very vulnerable. Just because she found putting her life on the line exiting didn't mean she was either stupid, suicidal, or both Just the opposite. She had a very healthy interest in staying alive.

"We should go back to my room for a coffee or... something." There she'd said it, but there was no way she was going back to his hotel room. There was a twinkle in her eyes that said she hoped the 'something' was what she hoped it was. Even so, if she was wrong the night could go very badly for her. Still, it was reassuring to remember that more than a few men with hostile intentions towards her had discovered to their cost that there realy was no such thing as safe sex with Kelly if they made themselves her target. A little something added to the mans drink made sure of that. Just enough to dull his wits and slow down his reactions without taking the edge off his desire or ability to perform while giving Kelly an unfair advantage. Of course, if Ivan had done his research then he'd be aware of her methods and be very unlikely to accept a drink off her. Even one with the bottles seal still intact.

"We should go back to my room for a coffee or... something."

The way Kelly left that final word hanging was all the prompting Ivan needed to agree. In fact, he probably did not even need that, but it certainly helped in any manner of speaking. His only reaction was to nod and murmur, "Finish our drinks?" That was agreed upon, and they both did not overly hurry or tarry. He finished paying for the drinks and left a generous tip that the bartender had been trying not to expect, though he did anyways. Ivan knew that bartenders had excellent memories, so to counteract he made sure to be remembered as nothing more than a good tipper who had been enjoying some very sexy female company. As the exited the club Ivan let Kelly take the lead while his eyes trailed both her ass and their path, it was just the two parts of his brain he couldn't turn off at that moment. One focused on the sexiest ass he'd seen, and one focused on making sure that he wasn't about to be killed. Ivan did not consider Kelly a threat, but there was always the odd chance that he would run into or against a former or new enemy. In fact it would have been quite ironic since that was how he met Kelly in the first place.

They had arrived at their destination when Kelly casually nodded her head up towards the impressively nice four star hotel. Ivan moved ahead of her at that point, to open the door with a polite, "Lead on Kelly."

As they walked through the corridor Ivan could feel his caution slowly falling away until it was just a mere shadow, a soft presence, in the back of his mind. He could feel the testosterone pumping through his veins, especially in his manhood that was now thickening though it hadn't hardened into anything embarrassing yet. Every step that Kelly took in front of him was seductive and sending small spikes of pleasure already through his mind. For him it wasn't the danger that was everything, though it was certainly part of it, it was mostly her. Kelly, a rival whom nearly killed him, and that he had nearly killed. She looked like Amelia, but acted so differently. It was almost as if she was trying to take the revenge for him. The thought was stunning, and for a moment Ivan thought, perhaps I could let her? Before shoving the thought aside as they arrived at what was presumably her door.

Kelly had moved to the opposite side, and face him as she got out her key-card.

Ivan nodded approvingly at her precautionary movement, "You are good Kelly, but it is just coffee?" He left the question hanging with an ever so slightly playful smile on his lips.

Once they'd finished their drinks Kelly watched as Ivan had been overly generous in tipping the bartender. She rarely tipped in such circumstances except for exceptional service beyond what was either required or expected. Anyway, everybody remembered a pretty girl, but a pretty girl who was unwise enough to flash her money around just made herself even more memorable. Which wasn't a good thing in her line of work. It was only a short taxi ride to the hotel that was her temporary home while in Miami, and she'd laughed when he'd he'd the door open for her. A quick stop at the reception desk to collect her keycard and then they were off up to her room. As she'd walked up the corridor to her room Kelly had added a subtle sway to her hips, wondering if Ivan enjoyed the view, finaly deciding he must have judging from the way he's stayed behind her.

She'd all but made up her mind to share her information about Manuel's whereabouts on their way back to her hotel even though she knew that would most likely mean they would be in direct competition against each other again. Only one of them could collect on the little fat man, which made it very unlikely they would be able to co-operate.

Kelly's room, when they'd arrived, although very comfortable had all the individuality, or rather lack of it, of a multi-national hotel that could have been located in any of the worlds major cities from tokyo to London. The set of luggage that could double as panniers on a motorbike, a black full face crash helmet and the fashionable but still functional black bikers leathers looked strangely out of place in such surroundings.

"Yes, coffee. Or would you like something stronger?" She indicated the rooms mini bar but her tone of voice, although playfull, indicated that she would be very disappointed if all he wanted was a drink. "You can order room service if you'd like." Which would he choose given her reputation? The mini bar or the much safer option of room service. Kelly grinned at him with an impish twinkle in her eyes. Now she'd see how much he did, or didn't, trust her.

((OOC: Ah, okay! No worries, just wondering. :) ))

Ivan's brown, excited eyes gave the room a one over automatically. A motorcycle? It fits her. He quickly decided as he turned his attention back to Kelly. The smile on her face and twinkle in her eyes lit a rather strong fire in Ivan's groin. They both knew why they were here and what was going to happen, but half, or more, of the fun was getting there with these coy little games to distract them. He nodded to the mini-fridge and glanced within it as the door shut behind him. There was liquor, whiskey, and more shit vodka, but at this point shit vodka was better than no vodka. He grabbed two of the small bottles somewhere in the middle of the pile on reflex, and tossed one to Kelly as he stood back up.

"Na Zdrovie," He said before cracking the bottle and letting the small amount of potent liquid down his throat.

For a moment things grew quiet, and then Ivan tossed his bottle in the trash before crossing the room to stand right in front of Kelly.

Leaning in, he kissed her forcefully on the lips while one hand slid across her neck, gripping it for a second, before sliding behind her head to press her mouth more firmly into his. The other slid around her hips to grip her ass with a firm squeeze and pull her more firmly into his embrace. The kiss broke momentarily and Ivan's head tilted down to stare at Kelly, "I'm glad neither of us got lucky last time." He was of course referring to when they had both tried to kill each other, "I would have been sad to know that I could never have met you."

She'd noticed the way he'd scanned the room when he'd entered but had been confident he'd not see anything out of place that might indicate that she was anything more than a normal guest or suggest her occupation. His eyes had paused for a second on her bikers leathers. Did he think a girl riding a motorcycle was to tomboyish? To masculine? She hoped not.

Vodka wouldn't have been her first choice, or second, or even third, but Kelly raised her drink in salute before opening her bottle and tipping it's contents down her throat before tossing the minature bottle to join Ivan's in the rubbish. Still it was a good job he'd not picked the malt whiskey.

Knowing full well that this was what they'd been building up to ever since they'd met in the club, and how this was going to end, Kelly slid her arms around him and surrendered herself to his kiss. A small involuntary gasp escaping into his mouth when his fingers gripped her throat for a second before sliding around to grip the back of her head.

"Not half as glad I am." She gazed up at him as she remembered how easily he could have killed her back in the alley, and that he hadn't. She also remembered how he'd confirmed that he'd gone back to correct his mistake after Miguel had escaped. As to his remark about feeling sad that he would never have met her if things had gone differently, Kelly doubted he would, or even could, feel any genuine sadness at ending her life when their paths crossed again in the future. Next time would be different. Next time she would know he was a professional and not a mugger as she'd thought the first time. But that was for the future. Tonight they had other, far more pleasant things on their minds.

She put her hands on his chest and pushed him backwards untill his legs caught on the edge of the bed. Laughing, Kelly straddled his hips when he toppled backwards, leaning foreward to plant a series of greedy little kisses on his mouth, hoping hec wasn't one of those men who liked to dominate their women because Kelly was no-ones doormat.

He smiled at Kelly's response. Knowing they had both come within seconds, or centimeters in her case, of killing the other certainly put much more of an edge on what was currently happening. Ivan gave a slight start as the back of his legs touched the bed and felt his momentum carrying him into a rather ungraceful fall backwards. Her laughter rang seductively in his ears, and he heard no maliciousness in it. As she straddled him he reached to pull her tight ass into his hands, massaging and squeezing the firm muscles under his grasp. A soft sigh escaped his lips as Kelly's danced across his, planting delicate but demanding kisses where their mouths met. Groaning appreciatively as their tongues met, Ivan let his hands drift up Kelly's backside until he reached her shoulders. There he began the trip back downwards, but he was now lightly grasping the straps of her sexy little dress. Her shoulders quickly slipped through them and Ivan let them fall from his grasp.

"How beautiful," He breathed between a passionate kiss as he caught site of bare skin from shoulder to shoulder, baring Kelly's neck, a good portion of her chest, and both feminine shoulders. The smooth, unblemished skin made his mouth water and intensified his kisses back into Kelly's mouth.

He felt then, her hands insistently tugging upon his shirt. Ivan's rock hard abdomen flexed, bringing his head, shoulders, and back slowly up off the bed while retaining the lock between their lips. He allowed both his dress shirt, and undershirt to come flying off. Their kisses broke only to let the shirts pass. Meanwhile Ivan kicked his shoes from his feet, and all of a sudden a rather embarrassed grin came over his face, which actually broke their kisses. He shyly glanced at Kelly, deciding how to tell her, and deciding honesty was certainly the best way to go. "Kelly," He whispered softly, while his hands once again drifted south to roam across her firm butt. "There is a knife around my calf," Momentarily, his eyes darted away, still embarrassed that he had not thought to get rid of it before this intimate moment. "I forgot to get rid of it before... Now."

He waited rather breathlessly, hoping she wouldn't immediately turn into his enemy once again. His hands had frozen, but the rest of him was completely relaxed, there was no tensing or nervous glances. It was hopefully obvious that he just wanted to get rid of the thing without interfering in what was currently happening.

Kelly giggled into his mouth. The way he pulled her dress off over her shoulders reminded her of a little boy carefully unwrapping a new toy and liking what he found. She felt him kick his shoes off as, having pulled, almost ripped, his shirt and undershirt off and tossed them onto the floor out of the way. Her kisses were more aggressive when she resumed kissing him, her tongue dueling wetly with his as she allowed her hands to explore the hard muscles of his upper chest and shoulders. Kelly whined softly when he broke the kiss so he could say her name, gazing at him with a part questioning, part annoyed, look on her face. Was he having second thoughts about being intimate with someone who'd tried to kill him, or was she being to aggressive for his taste? Maybe he didn't like women who knew what they wanted and prefered his women to be submissive? Kelly hoped not because she didn't do submissive.

Kelly stared at him without expression as he told her about the knife with obvious embarrassment. At least he'd told her about it before she'd found it buried between her ribs she thought wryly to herself. But then, not having a knife wouldn't make him any the less dangerous though, if that was his intent. With that rather exiting but disturbing thought Kelly shuffled backwards so that she could undo his pants and pull them down over his hips along with his underwear, doing her best to ignore his obvious arousal. Still moving backwards she slowly removed them and tossed them to join his other clothes, quickly followed by his socks and the knife.

She stood up and reached behind her to unzip the dress, then pulled it off over her head in one quick motion and let it fall to the floor leaving her in a strapless black lace bra and matching panties that did little to hide the dark mass of her pubic hair. It wasn't the most elegant, or sexy way to remove the dress but it served it's purpose. She shook out her hair, which had become tousled but only suceeded in giving herself even more of a 'just got out of bed' look. "Don't go anywhere." She laughed, walking over to the mini bar with a seductive sway to her hips.

After selecting her drink Kelly paused there for a long moment, thoughtfully toying with the little bottle of doctored malt whiskey. It was the sensible thing to do, but then Kelly didn't do sensible because sensible was, well, just boring. Instead she chose a bottle, of brandy for him before making her way back to the bed with the same slow, deliberate sway to her hips. Mounting the bed she moved back to straddle his hips again, settling herself firmly against him with only the thin barrier of her panties seperating them before handing him his drink.

"To new... friends." She opened her bottle and downed the contents in one quick gulp. Friends, or rather lovers, at least for tonight, she thought to herself. She had no intention of telling him about the tiny .25 Taurus backup pistol that was within easy reach if she should need it. Even in her small hand it looked tiny but that didn't mean the subsonic hollow points it spat out were any the less deadly.

((OOC: With Kelly playing around with guns I thought I'd better look up a couple of suitable weapons for her on the web :) ))

((OOC: Haha, most certainly! Nothing like an added dose of realism and firepower to increase the tension!))

Feeling his cock pop free and bounce in the cool fabricated air of the hotel room Ivan shivered with a mixture of delight and suspense. He watched with a hungry gaze as Kelly stripped herself in one smooth movement, fixed her hair, and walked with liquid grace to and from the mini-bar. Accepting the drink without a pause and following Kelly's example rather quickly, downing it with ease. All he could taste was the addition of alcohol to his system, the typical burning sensation that followed was all but forgotten as he felt Kelly's legs clenching against his sides. He did not mind in the least that she was atop him, though it was relative since he was quite taller and their heads were nearly even with her straddling his thighs. The minor adjustments and movements his new friend was making to remain upright above him continued to send small shudders and sensations through his spine.

"New friends..." Ivan murmured, turning the phrase over in his mind even as he reached for Kelly's body.

His powerful hands squeezed the soft flesh beneath her tempting lingerie, grinding the soft fabric into her sweet breasts. With ease, dexterity, and swiftness Ivan reached around to undo the clasp that held her delightful mounds in their well designed prison. Immediately his hands were beneath the fabric, now that there was no separation between his hands and her breasts the real power in each of his hands was easy to feel. Ivan squeezed slowly, allowing the malleable flesh to slip slowly from his grasp until it was just his fingertips holding her hard nipples with firm, but gentle pressure. Gently he rolled the sensitive flesh between his fingers as he once again moved his face closer to Kelly's, accepting her hungry kiss with his own eagerly ravenous one.

The kiss broke reluctantly as Ivan allowed himself to wilt back onto the bed, Kelly followed him closely, but not before he was able to whip the rest of the clingy fabric from her chest. It ended up in a pile on the floor. Discarded just like their mutual feelings of frustration with the other so many months ago, and though it would be picked up and put back on in the morning that was something Ivan was not concerned with. He could feel Kelly beginning to match his own reactionary humping of hips. Just small ones, like twitches, that neither he or her could control. Things were rapidly heating, and Ivan could no longer wait patiently.

"Kelly," He growled between kisses, simply saying her name in away that conveyed every of the few things he was thinking. He was ready, he wanted more, and it was going to be quite the passionate, intense, and powerful things. When it happened. To aid that, his hands slipped down to her hips. Gently he twisted the thing fabric further down her bottom, beginning to slip her panties from her waist. Between them his cock was throbbing, it was like a hot poker and bits of his fluids were already beginning to leave trails between their equally hard abdomen's. Without another moment's hesitation, Ivan flexed his arms powerfully, and the sound of ripping fabric filled the room as her now torn panties joined the brassiere on the floor.
