Allister regarded the largish, fog engulfed village with mixed emotions. It was good to be returning home in one sense, more a home than he had anywhere else, and were another in his position, they might have felt a sense of anticipation and excitement for what this particular trip entailed. Moving down the hill however, pulling his pea-coat tighter around himself more out of habit than any discomfort in the cold, Allister could not help a sense of foreboding, that his decisions were not his own, and that the doom that now confronted him did not bode well for the future. 'Still', he thought, 'There can be no reason to fret for things which are beyond our control, and you've hardly ever been one to just play a part.' His own voice felt chiding, mocking in his head and brought a pursed smirk to his striking features, prompting him to remove his hat and run his hand through, dark curly locks before replacing it.

The morning was still early as he made his way onto the cobbled streets of the main road, and people were just beginning to busy themselves about morning chores. In passing a grocer pushing a cart of his vegetables inside, Allister tipped his hat, and the grocer responded with a nod and quick 'milord', as he continued on. There was something about the isles that always captivated Allister's interest, something about the attitude of the peoples and in particular their take on the proprieties of status and rank. He did everything he could to be the Englishman when he was here, and if it weren't for the faint tan that he seemed to invariably retain, he might have made a passable Londoner.

Deciding that it was still too early to call on the party of interest, or at the very least, too early to begin such an endeavor such as his, he made his way towards the Inn, where he was greeted warmly and made himself comfortable by the fire with a mug of tea and a small breakfast. Removing his coat and setting his cane and hat aside, he saw his reflection in the fire, and it did nothing to ease his state of mind.

Lily was angry. Her parents once again tried to push her to marry yet another rich, snooty man. She had left the meeting in a rage, snatching up her coat and storming outside with out her shoes. Not like it matter to Lily she loved to feel the earth beneath her feet even on the coldest of days. Lily made it out the front door before both her mother and father appeared behind her "Lillian Hart you return this moment! We will not have you through away yet another perfectly good match!" Her father called after her make so much noise early in the morning neighbors were sticking there heads out their doors.

Lily didn't care though she just ignored her father and took off running as her father continued his shouting. Lily rushed past the grocer and past the inn, down an alley, and around a corner. Till she found her escape a hill not far from the town. It was there she collapsed on the cold earth.

Lily's was a young woman of 19, with long raven color hair, and vibrant purple eyes. She was the most beautiful woman in town. And the most desired. But Lily never wanted anything to do with them. she just wanted him.

Sitting in the Inn's common area, Allister suddenly felt a twinge in the back of his mind, a flaring of emotion that triggered a shift in the forces and winds of magic that flowed through and governed this region. It forced him to blink and to set down his mug as he tried to sift through the untamed emotion that rent the usual flow of magic he was attuned to, and knew that he had delayed long enough, perhaps too long. She was angry, that much was clear, and he didn't need to delve further than that. It was clear that even if her gifts had not yet fully manifested, she could still cause more damage than she knew, and bring ruin upon friends and family.

He was wracked with guilt, knowing that he was at least half to blame, for delaying so long, but he convinced himself his concerns either way had been justified. Rising to his feet he practically flew out the door, in one motion gathering up his coat, hat, cane and leaving behind a generous tip for the half finished meal. He was into the street and to all appearances might have been out for an Sunday stroll, were it not for the fiendish speed and almost preternatural grace that carried him out towards the hill. To him her presence there was written in the air itself, even if it were not for her high state of emotion, the time she spent here left an aura that even a mortal might be able to catch the scent of.

Slowing his pace, he continued more leisurely to the top of the hill, observing her with the sun behind him for a moment, unable to contain a smile at how she had grown since last he had seen her.

Lily looked almost defeated as she sat upon the cold earth. she sat on her knees her skirt around her. But her bare feet did stick out from underneath the material. The wind whipped around her but the cold did not seem to the bother her.

Her anger finally faded and now she was just sadden. She was sadder for two reasons. One was the thought that one day she would be forced to settle down, to be with man she did not love, and could never care about. And two the man she did care about was later this year, he didn't arrive at on his normal day and she now wondered if he would ever come.

Allister descended the hill slowly, silently, knowing the source of her sadness, and deciding she might be able to enjoy at least some little joy before more serious topics were broached. He moved with a preternatural grace and was silent as an owl on the breeze as he snuck up behind her. Leaning over till he was only inches behind her, he whispered into her ear. "Does the day not greet you well?" He asked, in a casual tone, wrapping his cane lightly on the back of her head.

Lily jumped when she heard the voice in her ear. It only took a moment but she sprung to her feet and whipped around to see who would come bother her now. She was ready to give that person a good ear full when she realized that person was him. "allister" she said in a soft whisper and just starred him for a long moment. She finally realized she was staring and she cleared her throat "what are you do here" She tried to sound puzzled and not excited that he come to her, but inside she was jumping for joy.

Allister was only too aware of the new turbulence of emotions that his presence had inspired and he smiled down at her, standing with both hands on his cane and drawing himself up to his full height to stand over her. "I came here to for you." He said somewhat cryptically, before continuing. "To see you and your family, I have some things to discuss with them regarding some very pressing issues." His tone was quite business like as he turned and took a few steps away from her, but he turned back around, smirking fondly at her, "But not so pressing that we might have a walk and chat first, we have much to catch up on."

Lily looked at him puzzled for a long time. "what matters do you have to discuss with my family?" Lily questioned. Lily was a little bit noisy but she always was even as a child. But her noisiness had all so given her a drive to learn new things so it wasn't always a bad thing. "you should know that they are not in the most pleasant mood right now. so perhaps you won't want to speak with them." When he stepped away she moved closer to him.

Allister was already quite sure what her parents might be angry about but he feigned ignorance all the same, "Why don't we walk for a while, and you can explain to me what they might be angry about." He said, extending his arm to her in a crook, "You've done quite a bit of growing since I last saw you, you know. You must be driving every boy in the village wild." He smirked at the thought of that, wondering what they might think if they knew half of what he did about what she was soon to become.

"oh you don't have to listen to my complaining as we walk." She smiled at him warmly. Trying her best to hid how happy she was right now. Lily moved to his side and took his arm. "i guess i have grown a little. but see if you would visit more often you would not be so suprised of these things" Lily teased a little "so come tell me why you are here"
