Wolf Mountain {Darkest Nightmare & Vertigis}

The wolf was panting slightly, it's tongue hanging out and mouth partly open in a crooked, evil smile. It was the same big, dark beast the Holly had seen earlier. Tall, massive, and unmistakably a wolf. It seemed out of place in the parking lot, like some exotic zoo animal let out on a city street. Or some incarnation of the savage wild that had descended into civilization.

After the explosive leap out o the bushes by the edge of the lot, there was a casualness to its movement. The wolf's walk was almost an amble, with no trace of urgency as it circled closer towards the two girls. It moved like a predator might when it knew its prey was helpless or weak, unable to flee. The act a teasing, mocking and cruel build-up of anticipation for its victim.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

The wolf's growl was a deep, chesty rumble that seemed to vibrate everything in the area. Its snout wrinkled slightly as it bared its canines in a partial snarl, annoyed as the bright flashlight tracked its movement. The path it took was circuitous, snaking in a half circles towards the girls, but unmistakable that Holly was the target it was approaching. Tara, screaming and frantic at the Jeep, was seemingly ignored.

The wolf crept closer slowly, moving even more cautiously as it approached Holly. The eyes flashed in her beam of light and were fixed upon the blonde holding the gun. The teeth remained bared, flashing white, and the growl only grew steadily louder.

Closer and closer it came and then, from behind Holly, came another crash of movement from the woods. Without even having to turn, the footfalls of what had leapt out of the dark behind her would be evident.

Another animal. Another wolf.

This one right by Tara at the Jeep.

When Ethan spotted the wolf and insisted on staying behind, Holly understood just what a terrible situation they were all in. Animals weren’t supposed to behave this way. What had happened in the woods earlier had been alarming but still explainable. She might have stumbled onto the creature and startled it or maybe its den was even located nearby. This however couldn’t be so easily explained. They were being stalked as if the wolves were pursuing them, as if they were being viewed as prey.

Grabbing Tara’s wrist when she tried to argue with her boyfriend, obviously frightened out of her wits, she dragged her up the path, saying whatever she needed to get her moving again. Holly didn’t like the idea of Ethan leaving either but there was no time for debate. They needed to get to the jeep right now. Once there, they could figure out what to do next. Tara was obviously the biggest problem, she wasn’t going to be of much use to anyone, so getting her out of harm’s way was the first thing.

Her chest was one fire as they burst into the parking lot, both of them panting out of breath, hearts hammering in fear. She held the pistol in a death grip while she eyed the surrounding brush, hearing the beast’s approach even before it emerged with a rustle of leaves. She shouted for Tara to run for the jeep. All they needed to do was get inside and they’d be safe. Surely the other girl could handle grabbing the keys while she watched their backs.

Oh God…

The words played through her mind as a cold shiver started up her back. It was the same wolf. It was the same big black monster that had snarled at in her the clearing, huge and bristling with coarse fur, with eyes that seemed far too intelligent for an animal. It began to circle slowly and Holly followed it with the flashlight, arm extended as the pistol wavered in her hand. She could hear Tara panicking but hopefully the other girl could keep it together long enough to unlock the doors. That’s all that was needed.

“Tara! Get the jeep open! Hurry!”

“I can’t! I can’t!” she heard her sobbing, “They’re gone! They’re not here!”

Holly spared a glance back her way, thinking maybe she’d forgotten where Logan had hid them, but she was searching under the correct tire. Had they fallen beneath the car or got caught somewhere or… When she looked back again, the wolf was nearly on top of her now, teeth bared threateningly. Another growl sounded near the jeep and she heard Tara begin to scream in panic. Dropping the flashlight, she clutched the pistol with both hands to steady her aim and pointed it at the black monster, eyes narrowing as she looked down the sights and pulled the trigger.

Nothing. She pulled it again and again. C’mon! Come on! She’d seen Logan loading it! The bullets were all misfires or blanks though and finally, in desperation, she flung the weapon at the black wolf and turned to race for the jeep. “Tara! Climb on top of it! The jeep! Up on the hood!” It was all she could think to do but they wolves were already within striking distance. Holly knew they wouldn’t make it. This couldn’t possibly be happening to them…

The big black wolf kept its piercing eyes only on Holly as it circled closer. The bright ray of the flashlight seemed to annoy it, making its light blue orbs shine like blazing saucers when the beam caught them straight on. It still moved with cruel slowness, sometimes tensing as if to dart forward and then instead turning in another teasing half circle. The route was designed to back Holly up, herding her towards the car where Tara's futile search for the key had deteriorated into screams of terror.

Only when Holly raised the gun did the big beast pause, hesitating momentarily and curling its lips back to flash its white teeth in a vicious snarl. Perhaps it recognized what a gun was? It certainly seemed wary for a half-second as it squinted its eyes against the glare of the flashlight to size up the metal object Holly was now pointing squarely at its head. Then the snarl faded and the beast's long, dark tongue lolled out again as if in an amused smile.

The black wolf spared a brief glance behind Holly towards the car as the terrified blonde continued backing closer to Tara. The other wolf, a large and silvery beast of similar size to the first one, had flushed Tara around the car so the skinny brunette was converging with Holly's path. Like it's black brethren, it was merely toying with the girl, purposely herding her with the threat of its teeth and low rumbling growls like a collie might a wayward lamb.

Satisfied, the black wolf turned and began to walk straight towards Holly when the trembling blonde finally threw down the flashlight and grabbed the gun with both hands. If the wolf understood what a gun was or sensed what danger the metal object presented, it didn't show it by trying to dodge or move. Instead, it kept walking straight towards Holly, presenting the easiest target possible.

The first shot range out in the still air like a cannon going off. The noise ricocheted throughout the parking lot and split the silent night unmistakably. The flare of muzzle flash lit the blonde's terrified but determined face as she fired, but the wolf didn't even flinch. Instead, it kept up its steady pace towards the blonde as she continued to shoot, the wolf's mouth even falling open wider as its grin seemed to grow larger.

Shot after shot rang out and the air filled with the pungent scent of gunsmoke until Holly finally clicked through to an empty cylinder on the now spent revolver. By the diffused light of the flashlight on the gravel of the parking lot, the shadowy bulk that was the wolf was apparently unharmed and now less than ten feet away from the suddenly defenseless woman.

The beast sidestepped Holly's surprisingly accurate throw, dodging the heavy gun with ease, and then with a casualness that belied the strength and speed it possessed, the wolf sprung after the now fleeing blonde. One, maybe two strides was all it took before the monster was at her heels and it leaped up to hit her on the back with its massive paws. The weight of the beast sent the running woman sprawling face first to the gravel of the parking lot. Tara was next to her on the ground, almost face to face with her camping companion, after having been similarly pushed down by the silver wolf.

With almost playful yips, the two wolves now moved to stand over the prone women, straddling their bodies with their massive frames easily. The black wolf lowered its snout, filling the air around Holly with the aroma of wild animal and letting its hot breath warm her neck and cheek as it inched its mouth towards her head. A terrifying growl, deep and so loud that the scared woman might feel it as well as hear it, came from its throat as if to freeze her in place. That tongue lolled out, hot, wet and large, and it gave the helpless blonde a teasing, slow lick from the bottom of her neck up, over her ear, and halfway up her cheek.

Those cold, blue eyes regarded her like a predator might eye a tasty snack in its grasp.

The fear was nearly paralyzing. As the giant silver hued wolf sprung at her suddenly, Tara had screamed in a panic, holding up her hands as if to ward of its attacks. If it had chosen to attack her outright though, the girl’s slender tanned forearms would have proven little obstacle, jaws clearly powerful enough to rend flesh and crush bone. Instead all it did was shove her backward, using its heavy compact bulk to knock her off her feet, where she landed hard on her behind, air escaping her pink lips in a started ooof. That she had been skillfully herded here, away from the car and onto the open dirt lot, the very same spot the other wolf was chasing Holly, was a detail entirely lost on the frightened woman. Her terror was too crippling and overwhelming for her to be aware of anything but her own approaching death.

Tara had been the only one among her companions to take the threat of wolves seriously. She had been scared even then but Holly and her boyfriend had dismissed her fear as groundless. Now that she was being pinned down by its paws, the hair of its shaggy white belly dragging across her own bare midriff as it pressed her shoulders flush with the ground, she could barely think at all. Droplets of warm drool beaded on her flushed cheeks as she wept loudly, pushing feebly at its firm hard chest with her small hands, foul animal breath hot and moist on her face.

Beside her on the cold ground, Holly was putting up a much greater fight. She’d screamed as she was shoved down onto her chest, breasts flattening as she sprawled on the ground, fighting to push herself up with hands as it sprung on her back. She was surprisingly strong for such a small girl though, in far better shape than the taller model-like brunette that Ethan had invited along, and heaving her athletic body backwards, she managed to dislodge it. As the wolf righted itself, she kicked it several times in the face with her feet, the impact of her tennis shoes producing a startled yip as the beast leapt back. Rising to her feet quickly, she shoved the one pinning Tara down aside, freeing her momentarily.

For a moment both of the wolves’ attention was focused on the aggressive blonde and Tara scrambled back up from the dirt, panting and sobbing desperately. No thought of helping her friend even crossed her mind as she simply turned and fled. Despite the frightening appearance of the wolves, the girls still had height and possibly strength on the creatures, but it didn’t matter in that moment. Tara was far too scared to think about helping anyone. She heard Holly curse and then scream again as the black one grabbed the seat of her pants in its jaws, jerking her back wards then dancing away, repeating the process, almost as if playing with her like a captured mouse.

Tara stumbled as she ran blindly, sandals flopping against the loose dirt, barely making more than a few feet before a pressure struck her in the small of her back again. She tumbled down, landing roughly on her hands and knees. Crying in desperation, she continued to crawl forward, dark brown tresses falling messily in her face as her shapely behind was thrust upwards in her tight shorts, swaying frantically as she scrambled for the treeline. Tara had no idea where the wolf was now and her hair was effectively blocking her vision, but it had to be close, she could feel it stalking her, frightened whimpering sobs sharing the night with the sound of the black wolf’s threatening growls as it dealt with her companion.

The black wolf seemed surprised at the fight Holly put up. She could have frozen and cried hysterically like Tara inches from her, but instead the surprisingly strong blonde tried and succeeded in fighting her way free. Her sudden bucking up and squirming once the wolf had straddled her caught the beast off-guard. Her well placed kicks, the first one landing right on its sensitive nose, seemed to momentarily freeze the beast and it gave a yip of surprise and back off for a second to snort and clear its head.

Of course, the animal knew she couldn't get far, especially not in the woods, at night, and with nowhere to run. It watched with an amused grin as she rushed to Tara's aid. The beast's tongue lolled out in a laugh when Tara took off running with nary a glance back towards her rescuer. Evidently Tara was hoping the two wolves would be content with feasting on Holly instead of her.

The silver wolf rolled over into a lying position after Holly had tackled it from the side. It glanced at Holly for a second, green eyes narrowing, but Tara's frantic, stumbling flight drew its eyes and it jumped up with a short snarl and trotted leisurely after the brunette. The human was near blind in the dark, even with a full moon lighting up the parking lot, and it had already fallen and resorted to crawling instead of running.

Holly, who had been watching the silver wolf nearest to her, was caught unsuspecting by the black wolf that snuck up behind her and tugged the fabric of her shorts with an almost playful nip. The blonde spun and the black wolf circled and then struck again. It was toying with her, the unnatural speed with which it darted in and bit the fabric of her shorts, tugging her every time, revealed it could kill her at any time if it wished. Instead, it harried her around the parking lot, nipping and tugging her until the hem of her shorts was tattered with bite marks so precise that her skin wasn't even touched.

Finally, as if tired of the play, the black wolf leaped up again and knocked Holly down, this time from the front. Massive paws on the blonde's shoulders pushed her back and the beast drove her onto the ground again with a bone shaking jolt, it's heavy mass coming to rest on top of her nubile form. The furry animal was hot and heavy on top of her, purposely pinning her down with its weight to prevent her from bucking it off. Its paws moved to trap Holly's arms beside her head as it lowered its fearsome snout to her face. Warm, humid air blew against her damp skin as it panted lightly inches from her lips. It sniffed, taking in the strong aroma of the scared, sweaty and exhausted woman and then its long tongue slipped out to give her neck and cheek a slow and very possessive lick, as if it might a prized bone.

Fifty feet away, the silver wolf snuck up behind the crawling Tara, its green eyes focused on her swinging rear. With no warning, it leaped onto her back. Using its weight and momentum, it knocked her flat to the ground on her stomach, pinning the slender brunette with even less difficulty than its companion had pinned the more athletic blonde just a moment earlier. Similar to the black wolf, it was content at first to sniff and rub its fearsome snout through Tara's long, brown hair, nuzzling it against the side of the terrified girl's face and seemingly basking in her terror as it growled.

The black wolf shivered as it looked at Holly. Maybe it was a trick of the dim light, the full moon was bright but the wolf's head was backlit and in shadows, but the outline of its face seemed to be changed. The snout was shrinking and the wolf gave a snarl suddenly and shimmied itself on top of Holly's body. The animal's hot, furry form seemed to be resting a bit lighter on the pinned blonde suddenly, contours and pressure points changing. The hands that held her wrist tightened like vises. And they were indeed hands, not paws, that gripped her now.

The creature was not a man, no, it was far too hairy and bulky for that still. And the face that looked at her was definitely not human, but not a wolf either. It was some sort of horrid mix of the two, with wolf ears that still protruded and a half snout that opened to show a mouthful of sharp teeth. Black hair, almost like a full beard, seemed to flow from the face into a thick, but short coat of fur across the creature's entire body. And the body was human enough now that it fitted against Holly's own like a man might. Pressing against her breasts with a strong, powerful chest. Pushing down on her hips with its flat and hard abdominals. And rubbing against the apex of her thighs, between her legs, was a very human feeling, if large, cock.

The blue eyes that locked with her own were the same as the wolf's, but on this near human face they looked familiar suddenly.

"Holly... It's about time you really were my bitch, don't ya think babe?"

Its voice was raspy and gravelly, but the accent, rhythm and words were unmistakeable.

Logan.

It seemed impossible. All of it, from the very beginning. Ever since Holly had run into that huge and frighteningly aggressive black wolf in the clearing she had been doubting herself. Wild animals simply didn’t behave that way around people, not unless threatened or sick. They certainly didn’t follow you back to camp and stalk you to the parking lot. Or shrug off several rounds from a handgun as if you were shooting blanks. None of it made sense to Holly, which hardly mattered now of course. It seemed almost certain they were going to be killed her as the pair of wolves trailed them across the lot, the light of her flashlight catching in the black one’s predatory eyes, illuminating them as its tongue lolled in a mocking grin.

When it finally pounced she went down hard on her behind before being pushed to her chest. Before it could settle its firm weight on her shoulders, pinning her in place, she lashed out, throwing her body upward and heaving it aside, then kicking at with her shoes when it leapt back startled. That gave her time to climb to her feet and free Tara as well, but the leggy brunette gave her no assistance, simply fleeing in a panic while the wolves quickly righted themselves. Seeming to communicate silently between each other, the silver lingered just long enough to see the black one circling her again threateningly before it trotted off in pursuit of the other girl.

Holly knew after that they were done. Maybe if they’d worked together, used their superior size to their advantage, but Tara had decided to save herself, and so made certain that neither was likely to escape. There was no way Ethan’s girlfriend was going to outrun her pursuer, that should have been obvious.. Even if she made it to the tree line, she’d be exhausted long before the wolves. “Ah!” Holly gasped as the black one nipped at the seat of her pants, herding her back and forth across the lot, keeping her corralled as it almost playfully tore at the fabric of her pants.

Finally it tired of its game, seeing her panting, out of breath and sweaty, the fight rapidly going out of her as hopelessness set in. With a tremendous leap it pushed her down with a weighty shove to her shoulders, this time sending her sprawling onto her back, the air bursting from her lungs. Scrambling on top of her at once, leaving no room for her to regain her bearings, its warm foul breath wafted over her face as its lapped up her neck and over her cheek, sticky saliva gathering on her flushed skin. Heavy paws reached up to hold her arms in place, almost seeming to grasp hold of her wrists, which was impossible, simply impossible.

Somewhere nearby Tara screamed and began to sob loudly, and Holly knew that her escape attempt too was over. “No… please, God… no,” she muttered, wincing as the wolf stared down at her triumphantly, imagining its fangs tearing into her flesh, watching her own blood pool in the dirt as it slowly began to rip her apart and feast on her moist entrails. Holly’s struggles renewed but this time there seemed to be no moving the beast, as though it grown several pounds heavier, and in fact it did look larger, broader around the chest, the legs growing thicker, almost like the arms of a powerfully built man. The face took began to shift, the blue eyes becoming clearer and brighter as it gazed down at her helpless form.

Something hard and thick rubbed across her inner thighs, pressing hotly against the crotch of her shorts, and Holly shook her head disbelieving, until a voice growled above her head. A voice immediately familiar and completely wrong all at the same time. It couldn’t be. It was impossible. Like everything else tonight. “L-Logan?” she whispered, squirming beneath its heavy weight as she started up at its almost human features. “This is… you can’t… what…. What are you?”

Logan smiled, his monstrous half-wolf face displaying a mouthful of sharp, canine teeth. The tongue that lolled out partway as he chuckled was longer than any human tongue. Glistening wetly in the moonlight, it snaked down to take another slow, sensual lick up Holly's sweaty neck.

"What's a matter, don't like it when I don't shave?" Logan asked. Then his eyes grew hard and the smile became feral. His hands, already tight on Holly's wrists squeezed her purposely and he shifted on top of her, rubbing his partially engorged and inhumanly large cock against her crotch. The subtle series of motions were a reminder that she was in his power completely, pinned, helpless and under a monster that was still very much a male. "Because I kind of like being hairy. And I hope you aren't the kind of shallow girl that only cares about looks, are you?"

A thrust of Logan's hips rubbed his pelvis against hers, that wolf cock hardened and moved like a thick branch of wood between her legs as he ground against her. His fearsome face lowered and kissed her, a violent and aggressive kiss that pinned her mouth to his just like his body trapped her. When he came up for air, he looked a bit calmer.

"And I'll never forget that you tried to shoot me. Good thing I put blanks in the gun," Logan said, giving Holly a disappointed shake of his head. Tara's wailing, terrified screams seemed to distract him for a second and he turned his head towards the other side of the parking lot. A low growl came from his chest as he raised his voice and shouted, "Caleb, take it easy with that skinny bitch, Ethan will be moping if you hurt her."

"Aww, Logan, I'm just scaring her," came the reply, mixed in with Tara's sobs.

"You ASSHOLE!" screamed Ethan's voice suddenly. Logan's skinnier little brother was jogging into the clearing, escorted by what appeared to be another half wolf man. Ethan's shirt was torn and he looked battered and scratched, with a trickle of blood flowing from his nose, but he shook off the half wolf next to him and sprinted towards Logan at full speed. "Let them go! This isn't happening!"

Logan tensed, knees shifting to spring up and defend himself, but the half wolf that had walked into the parking lot with Ethan tackled him from behind and brought him down with a loud thud onto the ground a couple feet away from Logan and Holly. Ethan struggled viciously, but the half wolf appeared to be far too strong for him to do more than squirm and glare at Logan.

"No! I don't want this! Let them go, you asshole!" Ethan screamed, twisting violently and futilely struggling against his stronger captor.

"Oh, It's happening. Puppy dog is growing up tonight."

Logan stood up, pulling Holly up next to him with ease and keeping a firm grip on her wrist. Upright and up close, he looked like a horrid mix of human and wolf, but was even taller and bulkier than his normal human body. Hairier as well, but also more muscular and with a slight hunch to his posture, as if he would be more comfortable dropping down to run on those powerful arms. Swaying behind him was a wolf tail, bushy and long. In twisted symmetry, a dark skinned cock on his front side seemed to hang down almost a foot in length, even while not fully hard. The snout on his face had receded almost entirely and the features under the hair that covered everything except his nose and mouth were definitely those of Logan.

"Meet our cousins Holly. Caleb is over there bringing Tara towards us, and Josef is the one containing my pussy little brother. They've been out here waiting for us and killing a few deer.. and hikers it seems," said Logan, grinning at Josef who grunted back as he struggled with Ethan. Josef had a light grey coat of hair, very similar in color to his brother's silver hue, but smokier. Josef loudly cursed at Ethan, who continued to struggle, and then looked up at Logan.

"Logan, I saw a light go on at the ranger's house on the lake after the gunshots when off. We should go."

Holly lay pinned against the hard dirt, arms stretched over head as the wolf -- as Logan -- grinned down at her with his row of jagged teeth. Hot warm breath gusted over her sweaty face as his rough tongue licked the moisture from her neck, taunting her in his gravelly voice. Hands strong and large enough to crack tree limbs squeezed even tighter around her small wrists until she was forced to whimper and squirm, afraid he was going to crush the small bones within like those of a small bird. All the while his wide hips pressed down against her much smaller pelvis, heavy fur covered legs keeping her own spread wide as his club-like cock rubbed against her bare thighs and pressed hotly against the fabric of her khaki shorts.

It was all unbelievable. Crazy ideas passed through her head in an effort to explain the even crazier reality. Were the drugs from earlier more effective than she’d thought? Was she having an adverse reaction? Or had Logan actually choked her unconscious along the riverside? Was she dreaming this as her brain struggled for oxygen? Was she dead? Had her boyfriend killed her in a fit lust fueled anger or had the wolf in the clearing tore out her throat before she could escape? She felt alive though, every sense tingling, feeling it all, even the little hairs rising along the back of her neck and the especially the rough feral way Logan pressed his lips against her own with bruising force, parting them as his tongue explored her mouth possessively.

She could taste him. She could feel his heat, smell his heavy animal scent. If this was real though then that meant Logan wasn’t a man. He was some kind of monster. A fairy tale creature. A werewolf.

Tara was still screaming and sobbing in uncontrolled panic as Ethan reemerged. Even in her confused state, it was clear to Holly that he was angry rather than shocked. He’d known about this or at least he’d known the truth about his brother and the ones being introduced as their cousins. He could have told them. He could have given them a chance to escape. He could have warned them never to come out here in the first place.

It was far too late for any of that now though. Holly clenched her teeth as she was dragged roughly to her feet, the hand clenched around her arm like a steel vice. Her head still reeled to see Logan half-walking, half-loping beside her in his massive hairy form, thick gray tail hanging between his muscular legs. They were talking like they had plans for tonight, plans involving them, and somehow the already piercing fear in her breast grew even sharper. With Tara crying and begging them to let her and Ethan go, Holly tugged at the spot where her transformed boyfriend held her firmly at his side, hissing under her breath, the fear evident in her every word, “Logan… what is this about? Please…I… I don’t understand. You’re not going to hurt us are you? Whatever this is… I swear to God we won’t tell anyone… nobody would believe us anyways… you can just let us walk away…”

Logan turned to face the shocked Holly, his half-wolf features turning into a fanged, evil smile as his cold blue eyes stared into her own. His free hand went to her cheek and thick, curved nails trailed down her slick skin before her gripped her throat in a rough and calloused palm.

"I know you aren't going to tell anyone, Holly. Who would believe you anyway? Werewolves? We don't exist," Logan answered, thumb rubbing the pulsing artery below her jaw idly. He chuckled at the end and he let his eyes run down her body. "And no, I won't hurt you. You are mine, remember? You are safe with me.... that is, unless you try to escape. Don't make me think you aren't mine. Tonight is going to be very special for dear Ethan, and I don't want you to ruin it."

Tara was dragged over to them by Caleb. The skinny brunette seeming hysterical at the unbelievable scene in the parking lot and her sobbing cries distracted Logan, who gave her a low growl.

"Ethan.... the ranger," said Josef, pulling Ethan up. Tara's proximity had quieted Logan's younger brother and he glared at his older brother again before turning a pained gaze towards his girlfriend. He was whispering something to her, soothing words to try to calm her down, but his body was still tense in Josef's half-wolf hands.

"Right... the ranger. We don't want to cause a scene, do we? Carry Tara, let's run back to the camp and appear like an ordinary bunch of campers having fun," said Logan. He grabbed Holly and threw her over his shoulder with ease, before turning and setting off back up the fire road at an easy, ground covering lope. Behind him, Caleb through Tara over his shoulder and followed.

"Don't dawdle little bro, if you don't play along you are going to leave your girlfriend to your cousins' tender mercies," yelled Logan over his shoulder. Josef jabbed Ethan and with a loud curse, the dark haired young man started to jog after the group with a resigned expression on his face.

"Holly, don't you worry, nothing is going to happy to you if you behave. Well, nothing you haven't already done that is," said Logan as he jogged up the road back to the campsite. In his half-wolf form, he moved lightly, but still covered ground quickly with surprisingly large strides. He swatted Holly's ass with a hand in a mocking spank of their earlier, lighthearted hike in. "Plus, an alpha never shares his bitch, so you don't have to worry about my mongrel cousins. That is, if you are still mine."

A pause and then he asked, in a huskier voice.

"Do you think I'm a monster? Are you like all the other girls?"

Holly had froze as Logan’s massive half-lupine hand slid down to her throat, easily able wrap around her thin neck. Even in human form he had been strong enough to physically dominate the smaller woman as he had proven humiliatingly at the lakeshore. In this frightening form with its broad hairy chest and thickly muscled arms, Logan looked as though he could easily tear her limb from limb, or do anything else that he pleased. He obviously knew that too as his talons dug along her soft tanned skin, not quite enough to draw blood but enough to make her shiver, especially when his thumb pressed against her rapidly thrumming pulse.

He told her he wouldn’t hurt her but the way he chuckled at her fear made it hard to believe. While he grinned at her with his sharp fangs, Tara was being frog marched across the parking lot, sobbing and crying and seeming to have difficult just operating her slender shapely legs. Whatever Ethan whispered seemed to at least bring her back into the present, although she continued to hiccough and sniffle, trembling visibly in the silver wolf’s tight grip. Holly had difficult feeling anything but anger at the younger brother though, gathering from Logan’s words that this was somehow about him and knowing that, even if Logan was a bastard, he might have at least tried to warn them. There was no way he hadn’t had some idea when they first came out here or at least when the ranger told them about the possibility of wolves in the area.

…that’s why you were scared… and now it’s too late for all of us…

Holly muffled a scream as she was suddenly flung over Logan’s huge shoulder as if weightless, his powerful legs carrying them quickly from the parking lot and back to the darkened trail. She doubted if they would have even made it this far if they’d taken these forms earlier given his unnatural speed. But then they hadn’t wanted to capture them right away. They had enjoyed toying with their prey. She felt a surge of helpless resentment even as her heart continued to beat rapidly from the terror of the moment.

A gasp exited her lips as he suddenly slapped her ass through her tattered shorts, again calling her his bitch, bringing sudden new meaning to that term. Had been trying to ready her for this moment earlier? Or had he known there would be no escape for them and that’s what had him acting so boldly? As the camp came into sight, the fire still giving off a faint glow as the embers died down, they began to slow, and he asked her a question in a lower thicker voice. Did she think he was a monster?

Yes “No… I … I don’t know what to think Logan… I’m scared… we’re both scared… You have to at least tell us what you’re planning. You’re not going… going to hurt Tara either are you?” The flighty brunette might have tried to ditch her at the parking lot but she still didn’t want to see anything bad happen to the girl. With the less than subtle threads behind Logan’s every other sentence, Holly didn’t need to be told that this could end horribly for the both of them. And she had to try to prevent that if she somehow could. “Please … promise me we’ll both be okay, Logan… please?”
