No one had been prepared or seen it coming. But finally, the world as everyone had known it ended. It'd been as swift as someone snapping their fingers. Bam. Everything was gone and over, with little to no explanation on how exactly this had even occurred. Many assumed some type of virus. But in the end, guesses were just those.

"None of those matter."

The reminder came from a young teenager. The voice belonged to eighteen year old Tsubaki Kishiyo. Whatever had caused this 'new world' to emerge, she hated it with a fiery passion. Her home was standing, although barely. The once prosperous city of Yatsuki was now all but in ashes. Few stores, hell any types of buildings, were standing by this point.

That alone made it very difficult for the few people who had survived to hide.

Difficult .. but not impossible ... she repeated to herself, nodding slowly as a soft sigh passed her lips.

At the moment, she was going out doing her least favorite but still very necessary activity; scavenging. It wasn't her preference but she did know how to use - and owned - a pistol. Alas, she had began to run out of bullets. Now, she was hunting for extra ammunition.

Of course, the search was going about as well as she'd thought; not at all. Every place she checked had been locations that she had tried in the past few weeks. So of course, they would still be empty. Still, she had hoped someone else may have come by and ... dropped some?

Her head shook in annoyance, causing raven locks to move from side to side.

"You know how stupid that sounds?" she whispered to herself, scoffing under her breath as she stood up to her full height of five feet four inches. A set of determined, light blue eyes glanced around, checking to make sure she was alone.

After the third time of glancing around and failing to find nothing, Tsubaki nodded, satisfied with herself. While her search hadn't been productive, she knew it was time for her to head back home. Staying out too late was risky and she wouldn't dare push her limits. It especially held true to when she had limited bullets remaining in her firearms.

Her right hand went into the pocket of her blue jeans and pulled said pistol out, opening the chamber and doing a quick mental count. Three bullets were inside, making her exhale deeply.

"Gonna have to make them count then," she merely mused, deactivating the safety as she kept it held firmly in her right hand.

Taking slow but eager steps, Tsubaki began to proceed out of the store. Once both feet left, she broke into a run, going towards the only truly safe destination; her house.

She'd seen a few of the so-called 'humans' who had survived. Most were corrupt bastards who bullied the weaker ones around. And for what? Hell if she knew. But Tsubaki had been so careful to avoid becoming just another person they'd find and take advantage of. She wouldn't allow for tonight to change; not if she could help it.
