I'm perfectly fine with running the monsters myself with so few players, though if you want to play a monster I won't say no to the offer.
 
Chief is taking a little while to post, should I skip them or continue to wait before replying?
 
I'd say skip them till they reply back. Shouldn't be an issue till one of us can interact with them, which doubt will be too soon.
