Oh, God, yes. XD Everyone here eating delicious yummy sweets and I'm eating pie. I should probably go and buy myself some Kinder Bueno at least.

EDIT: Also, do you really think I'm going to wait until Christmas to have me some good vibes, Tim-Tams, and flowers? D:

I know, how rude of them! (And I figure if everyone else shares, I can keep all mine for myself, xD)

Good mental vibes are a given at all times, but you really expect me to send flowers and tim-tams randomly!!! Who's stalking who here? I guess I'll throw in some mosquito repellent too, I hate those bastards as much as you appear to; they're the only bugs which seem to set out to deliberately piss you off!

It appears I'll be moving one my stories to Elliquiy. My partner for it has recently joined up, due to experiencing many of the issues I do on here, in regards to finding compatible writing partners, so we figured if transferred it to there, it would give us both some posting history. Not too much of a hassle; we've already moved it once from PM. Luckily we're both similarly OCD in preferring to move it post by post, rather than just lumping all of what's been written so far in the first.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Won't be around much on the weekend. Heading down the coast to see my parents. As mentioned before, my Father isn't well. He had an appointment with the Doctor earlier this week, where they discussed placing him in Hospital, but both decided there was no point. It could be the last time I see him.

Honestly, most of the reason I'm sharing this here, is that I consider my partners, and those I otherwise chat with OoC, friends, and don't want to randomly come out with it when it happens, as I know how awkward it can be with what to say, and I'd prefer no-one felt awkward. It's something that's been coming for a while. And knowing the stubborn bastard, he could well hang around another five years just to prove wrong those who say he won't.

RE: Quix's Writing Samples And Random Bullshit Thread (Comments Welcome)

Of course when I get down the coast, I find that it wasn't a mutual decision between the Doctor's and Dad that he not go into Hospital. He just point-blank refused to. He's not in a great way; hasn't eaten solid food for over a week; but the Specialists say they can't really give an indication of how much longer he has.

An Uncle and Aunt were also down there, the trip had already been planned, and at least Mom has her sister there for support. My mum's a tough lady; I guess that's what happens when you're raised the youngest of nine children, on a farm; and she's been through a lot with my Dad. The hardest thing was, she still tried to pretend everything was okay, and that she was coping just fine, except my Aunt Cath mentioned to me in a conversation that my Mother had called her a couple of times and broken down. Unfortunately, there's not a lot that can be done; it is what it is.

Anyways an example of how tough my Mom can be, and the tenor of their relationship (I don't condone domestic violence xD):

Apparently not long after she and my Dad were married, they lived in an apartment complex, and one night were having a domestic whilst mum was cooking dinner.

Somehow, and it's never been admitted as to whether this was an accident or deliberate, my Dad takes a blow from a saucepan, and begins to bleed from the forehead.

A minute later, the doorbell rings, and my old man opens it to find two uniformed policemen standing at the entrance:

"Evening Sir, the neighbours reported a domestic."

Dad points to the blood dripping from his wound, and responds with, "And who do you think is fucking winning?" xD

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a lighter note, and hope the person who sent me this doesn't mind that I share, I have this kind of strange OoC exchange with someone on here, in that we'll swap random PM's maybe once every couple of months or so, but never really get involved in a conversation. Anyways, in the latest, after I sent her a Cherry Ripe, this was (part of) the reply I received:

"And yes, I still enjoy reading your thoughts as they've almost become a novel in themselves! Some entries make me laugh out loud, some are more thought provoking than others, even making me question my own beliefs, but all are certainly entertaining until the very end. It's the witty banter amongst friends that makes it so easy to read almost as if I'm sitting at the coffee shop eavesdropping on a private conversation, even leaning over to hear the quiet whispers."

For some reason it just made me feel good to know that this random bullshit can both provoke thought, and make people laugh, and from my perspective it's that witty banter between my OoC friends, and the fact it gives me a place to express what's in my sometimes unconventional mind that makes it so enjoyable to keep.

Lol, it was meant to make people laugh Mali; and I have plenty of others which may or not be shared on here as time goes on. For example, how my mum was awoken at 3am on their 20th wedding anniversary, after Dad didn't quite make it home to take her out for dinner, by two coppers standing at the bedroom door, with Dad between them!

Lol okay good.
O.O I wonder if your dad ever got on a first name basis with the cops...and I wonder if it was always the same two cops xP

Lol, Dad was a Police Rounds and crime reporter when he first started out, so pretty much got to know all of the cops, and a lot were friends. They were worse than him! I could tell you about the time he was arrested for attempted Armed Robbery!

You could write a book about the many stories of your dad xP
You could call it, 'Dad's many a brush with the law.'

I just wish I could remember them all; he worked as a political, crime, and sports journalist, so he's had many a run-in, and shared a lot of beers, with some well-known people, and has stories to tell. We've tried to convince him to write his memoirs, but for some reason, he's always refused to. Even if just for the family, at least that would stop us from having to listen to him repeat them every bloody time we go visit, xD

LOL. Perhaps that's why. He wants you to always hear it as opposed to having the world read it. It makes it all the more amusing xP

It is quite amusing the first few hundred times or so, Mail. However, after that, you tend to tune out, xD

Yeah...I suppose. I went to family dinner last night and the stories just aren't as fun anymore. I've heard them all it feels like >.<

I did read your journal post; once a week seems a bit rough!

My partner and I have decided to continue on with our Snow White story on BMR, and then post it to Elliquiy as well, rather than move it completely over to there. Not sure if it's just because we are just both new, and unaccustomed to the site as yet (or have missed the obvious!), but not having the facility to save your thread posts or PM's as drafts makes things a little more difficult than here on BMR.

I tend not to use Word or the like, but compose my replies directly to the thread, and edit from there. Will take my head a little while to get around trying to do it differently, if I need to!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naturally, with my Dad being ill, my mind often turns to my personal beliefs (or lack thereof), and I watched an interesting documentary last night, "Judgement Day: Intelligent Design On Trial", about a 2005 Pennsylvanian court-case, in which parents took a school to court in an attempt to stop Science Teachers from being forced to read a statement to students that touted Intelligent Design as an alternative to Evolution:

For anyone interested in that sort of thing, the entire movie can be found here.

And finally, six and a half hours after I arrive at work, the IT people have resolved the issue with a software upgrade for an application that I need, and I can now actually do some work. Patience isn't exactly a virtue of mine! (In real-life anyway; strangely enough when it comes to roleplaying, and story replies, I'm the complete opposite).

I don't know what the heck is going on, but my Dad saw the Heart Specialist yesterday, and was told that for his weak heart to keep coming back like it does (I have mentioned elsewhere that the Doctor's have nicknamed him Lazarus), he could live indefinitely, and he doesn't need to see him again for a year. From how he was on the weekend, he didn't appear to have that much longer, but who knows!

Whilst I was down there, I pinched a book by Michael Robotham (stealing from a dying man; well I've never claimed to be a Christian!**), a psychological thriller/crime writer. I'd read one of his previously, which I enjoyed, and the second I'm finding just as brilliant.

Two completely different novels; the first written in third person from the perspective of an escaped criminal searching for justice and redemption, and the second in first-person from the perspective of a British-Indian female police officer on a search for the truth. I can't define it, but there's just something about his style which grabs me, like an author hasn't grabbed me in a very long time. The best thing is that he has a reasonably large back catalogue.

And no, Mali. I haven't forgotten the series you recommended either; I actually looked for them in the bookstore the other day, but they weren't stocked.

**By the way, a little black humour is always appreciated in our family. When I left on the weekend, my Uncle was there, and I said, "I might try to get back down while you're still here", whereas my Dad interjected with, "That might not be long," (referring to his health), and to which I replied, "I didn't say whilst you were still here."

Sometimes I think I might be slightly dyslexic. Which can be a problem, since I work with numbers!

Either that, or I'm just careless, xD

What does you being dyslexic have to do with numbers when you have a problem with words?

Because you can have number dyslexia as well, and that's not good when you're sending money to people's bank accounts, xD

No, I'm sorry I called you Mail; please forgive me? (Luckily it's my turn to post, not yours, xD)

When you apologize, usually it means you won't do it again. Are you going to do it again?

It depends if the apology is accompanied with a roll of the eyes; it can mean different things. I'll leave the meaning of mine to be revealed at a later time!

And that question reminds me of how my mother always used to irk me by saying, "You won't forget to turn the heater off, will you," and I was like, "What, am I psychic? How am I supposed to know now, if I'm going to forget something in the future, however I won't deliberately leave it on."
