Random Unread Question Bug

So, I looked through the files of questions, and ate glance I couldn't find a specific question detailing to this, if I overlooked something I sincerely apologize.

I'm on my iPad this week at the beach, so having to use that is essentially the same as using an iPhone. When I'm browsing through threads, I'll sometimes get a random unread question alert, click it, and I won't have a new message. Just wondering if that has to do with the platform I'm using, or a bug that's occurring frequently which doesn't matter on the platform being used.
