I. About Me & Rules
So .. I hate using all of the same information. Thus I'll attempt to spice this part of the thread up with new things about me. First and foremost, I am (still) 27, going on 28. I technically started roleplaying when I was 13, albeit not in the smartest of methods (chat rooms, especially YIM or AIM). And I say not smartest because now I realize how dangerous that could have been. Meh. Better later than never I suppose.
From there, I shifted over to forums. The very first one that got my attention was an old Yu-gi-oh! web site that had not only the ability to discuss the card game and even trade with users on the site, but roleplay as well. It was here that I met my beloved Veinexes. I would gladly show this link off but it - apparently - has been shut down or something of the like. Needless to say, everytime I've made an attempt to visit it, it doesn't come up. So I'm assuming something like that happened.
Me and Veinexes stayed on the YGO! site for a while, going onto Gaia Online, which he introduced me to, every now and again. I can proudly say that since those days, I have
definitely improved my writing, drastically. Not that either of those web sites were bad or anything. But neither exactly encouraged proper writing or whatnot.
I am married and do have an almost eight-year-old daughter who resides with my parents. We are in the midst of trying to move to her. Aside from the obvious hobby of roleplaying, I enjoy reading, writing, playing video games - on consoles or Steam, reading manga and sometimes watching anime and other things of the like. I'm not that complex, honestly. Just my posts.
I also do love - especially on myself - tattoos and piercings, though I haven't done much with the latter. My skin reacted bad to the last ones I got for some reason ... except for the one I currently have on my tongue but I don't have such issues with tattoos.
Before I go to the rules, I'm going to explain why exactly I've decided to make this thread. I've been doing some thinking over the past week or so, basically since I returned from my hiatus. I've thought about all the PMs/IMs I've gotten for non-fandom RPs. And ... honestly? None of them have really grabbed my attention. And this doesn't just hold true for the recent events but pretty much since I joined BlueMoon nearly 2 years ago. My best RPs have been fandom-based in some form or fashion.
That being said, I'm going to continue to focus on said settings. I'm sorry; truly I am because I realize this isn't everyone's cup of tea. However,
if you think you can convince me with a damn good modern/fantasy/some other type of plot, check
here out. It has a list/idea of non-fandom pairings I may enjoy.
Those rules listed both there and below, however, do still apply. So please bear that in mind when suggesting ideas to me. I'm also making this because I got too many smut-based plots tossed toward me or ideas where even my own character was pretty much figured out. Nu-uh. I'm not into those sorta things. In fact, those both really irritate me.
Somehow, those issues are removed when I do fandom-based RPs. So thus ... I have made this thread.
And now for Rules. I swear, I am going to try to make this section less intimidating than it's been in the past. But I do still have some that I do want followed.
General Rules:
Respect ... give me that and I'll more than eagerly return the favor. I'm not a difficult person to get along with, though I do come off as that. And I am truly trying to work on not giving that impression. But all in all, I am pretty damn easy to negotiate and talk with.
In regards to RPs and my characters,
never godmod or try to demand how my OCs are; appearance wise or personality. I never push for such things with my partners and expect that same favor returned. There have been times I've allowed for my character to be godmodded. However, those were all done to advance the story. So if you feel you have to/must, shoot me a PM/IM first before assuming I'll be fine with it. If you want me to end up losing a fight so I can get kidnapped, I'm game for it. But at least have the courtesy to ask me first. That goes with anything.
And finally, I
never ditch without notifying. This is something that I also hope will be a courtesy returned. Hell, you can send me a PM/IM asking to do an entirely new RP if you wish to start something new. But please do
not just up and leave without a word. That's incredibly rude.
Due to something I have recently noticed, I am now enforcing this rule. I will no longer be putting up the intro post for any RP; not unless I know you and know you will not just up and leave the RP. Sorry to come off as harsh but lately, I have started some new RPs. Already, 4+ days have passed and I haven't gotten a reply back or a PM explaining the lack of replying. I've been more than patient enough. If you want to prove you truly do want to RP with me, show it by starting the thread.
IC & OOC-Related:
In terms of post length, I only have one rule for others. No one liners. Really, that's it. I'd prefer a minimum of one paragraph but I do understand we all get writer's block. My introduction posts tend to be at
least four paragraphs if not more. After that, I try to stay to two to three though I can do more if properly inspired.
Feel free to toss ideas and plot twists to me via PM or any messenger I have. It's something I enjoy doing, in fact.
Also, help me brainstorm with the RP. I don't want to be the only person giving out ideas for setting, characters, etc. Since this has been a recent issue, feel free to come at me with ideas. By all means, please do. Seriously. However, do not just assume I'll be fine with certain characters. Let me choose at least my role. If you come to me asking for me to play a certain role
and I wind up feeling uncomfortable/unsure of it, I will shoot the idea down. Sorry but just ... I have preferences on the types of OCs I create. And unless you know me really well, you'll be more likely than not to guess incorrectly as opposed to correctly.
Sexual Roles, Preferences & Pairings:
While I admit that most of my characters are women, I
can do males. That being said, I'd highly prefer to stay with MxF or maybe even FxF RPs. I haven't really practiced MxM well enough to say I'm comfortable with it. Sorry ahead of time.
While I am a switch in real life, I can be sub or dom. Please bear in mind that I'm working on the latter ... and thus I'm not a perfect dom(me) by any means. My subs are
always fighters and strong-willed characters who don't just 'roll over' when told to, if you get the drift. The only time they are more obedient and loyal is if we do a pairing where the sub is fully giving herself to the dom, regardless of why [I do know a few fandom based pairings that fit this example].
Contacting Me & Medium/RP Preferences:
Now then, if you wish to send me a PM/IM suggesting an RP, go for it. But
please have at least an idea, be it the fandom, setting [AU or current storyline], something for me to go off of. Of course I want to RP. That's an obvious given with the fact I've made this. Elaborate further on it though. Don't just assume I know what you like, especially if you've yet to make a search thread of your own. Makes it very difficult to backtrack and search for your kinks, preferences, etc. For the record, I live in Eastern Standard Time Zone, North Carolina to be exact. This is in my profile
but I realize sometimes it's easier to check for that information here than on profiles. So I've included it to give people hints as to the time it is I live in, when I can attempt to get posts in, etc.
My order of preference on mediums to use as RPs is as follows, from most to least likely:
