Alicia sighed as she looked out her dorm's window. The silver moon allowing its rays to dance around the courtyard. The students all venturing to their classes. While many boarding schools had students resting in their beds by eleven PM, Alicia and the students at her school went by the night. A vampires schedule, since many students could not handle daylight. Alicia was one of those students. A vampire, unable to step into the daylight without being extremely irritated. Her eyes stinging at the sight, and if her skin was exposed, would burn quickly. It was not a death sentence such as it was in fairy tales, but Vampires could not remain in sunlight for long periods of time without needing medical attention.

Her roommate was a lucky one, mortal, not bound by the vampiric curse. While she would still abide by the schedule of the night, the hours in which the school was active. Unlike Alicia she was not bound by the same rules. In fact, Alicia's Roommate had a very distinct role in her life, to protect Alicia. They were known as guardians. A mortal, immune to the curse, while receiving the gifts of inhuman strength and agility, would not be restricted by sunlight. Instead they were appointed a vampire to protect, while both shared an immortal life.

As the bell rang Alicia smiled. Class had finished for the night. Students would mingle and do as they wished, at least until the sun rose, that is when they would have to retreat to their dorms, or at least inside the school's walls. regardless Alicia was timid and tended to stay inside most days anyway, reading many books that came her way. The library the school had held many novels of Alicia's taste, some were silly, especially the ones based off of vampires, some of which annoyed her, such as a series known as twilight, in which vampires could be good or evil, they did not sparkle. other novels showed vampires in a better light, one more suited to her, showing vampires to be people, not monsters of the night, or merciless killers. once who seldom fed off of human blood, substituting it for cow or pig blood.

Unfortunately that was not an option in the real world. A vampire required Human blood, and Alicia hated feeding off of humans. going days at a time without a drop. Risking her own health and the safety of others by not feeding. While blood did give them nourishment it also kept them sane, as a long enough gap without feeding could push a vampire into a bloodlust, a level of insanity blinding the creature and driving them to kill and drain their victims until their thirst was satisfied. Alicia had been in a bloodlust once before, and while she never wanted to put people at risk again she also hated to feed.

RE: Bloodsuckers

Living with your best friend and going in a good school. It can't be so much more better. Dawnika was liking her life. It was always something interesting going on. Today right before the sunrise did she take her time to go out for a run. She was running as fast her legs would carry her and an hour later did she walk inside the room she was sharing with her friend Alicia. Dawnika throw herself on her bed with a deep sigh and looked her friend.
"How are you?" They hadn't talked so much today, and she was worried that her vampire wasn't taking care of herself like she should.
Yes Alicia was her vampire, like Dawnika was the vampire's girl. They did belong together and it was her job to make sure Alicia was safe.

"I'm fine" Alicia said with a faint smile. It was true for the most part but she was low on energy, and was overdue to feed. Unlike most vampires Alicia was at least able to keep herself away from her bloodlust longer than most, but that also came with refusing to feed often. It was something she adjusted with. Of coarse fine or not, she was showing signs of malnutrition. She needed to feed, soon enough she would lose control of herself, and it would not be her but Dawnika facing the punishment for not taking care of her vampire. The Vampires safety was one duty she had to do, the second, was make sure that others were also Safe from her Vampire. Being the Caretaker of a vampire was a full time job, and like it or not Dawnika was stuck with it.

"No you aren't..." She rose up and walked over to the other girl. "There is no point to lie to me. I can see that on you, and you know it." Dawnika sat down close to her vampire. "Why doesn't you tell me earlier that you want a bite?" She asked and stroke her other's cheek. "I don't buy those sorry excuses you are coming," Dawnika took away her hair and tilted her neck. "Come on Alicia, I know you need it."

Alicia hated drinking blood, regardless of who it was form, be it a random stranger, someone willing to give it or even Dawnika. It wasn't that she hated the taste, that alone was delicious, but the idea of feeding form another living being was an issue for her. She had not been a huge fan of meat when she was alive and now she was forced to feed of of living breathing people.

Still it was pointless to fight Dawnika on this. Slowly Alicia licked her fangs she could see the blood pumping through her friend's veins, smell it and dove in, the fangs puncturing her friends neck as she began to drink the blood. She knew it would make her friend tired but it was true, Alicia did need to drink before she went into a frenzy.

Danika moaned as her friend bite down in her neck. It didn't hurt so much any more which she was glad for. But then again... it would never be a completely pleasure. Danika had relaxed before the bite and felt a bit light headed. Together with the hard train out and this made her growing tired. Once she was sure that Alicia was feeling better would she go to bed.
