Brother Prince Tristane. How he died: "The hunting party had separated. Tristane liked his solitude too... Maybe it's a family trait." The ghost of a smile flicked across her wine-stained lips. "He had left with three guards, young men that he had grown up with. The guards went off together, and my brother made his own path, alone. Blood--" Her voice seemed to give out, the terrible memories coming back to her. "Blood was found at the bottom of a cliff, and some of my brother's belongings. But his b-" She swallowed thickly. "His body and that of a guard were never recovered. Sir Roark. His effects were with my brother's, scattered like some wild animal had gotten ahold of them. But I don't know. I don't know."

Here is my 'in my head' idea of the structure.

They spend a day or two together, irritating each other and also playing mind games
The suitors begin to trickle in for the ball
They come up with four main contenders (because I can't keep track of too many more)
Maybe one of them tries to kill the princess?
Her father continues to push for a decision
....and seduction attempts are made
Traeble begins to realize that he doesn't want her to marry any of the suitors.

But it's very loose and unstructured. Any ideas you want to toss in the punchbowl?

That's roughly what I was thinking. Maybe only 3 main suitors, unless you're set on four. There can be a few more that we don't really pick up or focus on.

One thing, though... Maybe one doesn't try to kill Seraphina... At least, not yet. It would make much more sense to try to marry her first. Maybe he plans to blame her murder on another country and use that to start a war (can you tell I love Princess Bride? Wink ) but maybe Traeble discovers it before it comes to that. But maybe before he does, he thought that suitor was the right one and tried to usher her into that marriage?

Three is even better!

Oh and I think we talked about a suitor who had a son about her age. What if the son is somewhat desirable? Maybe very desirable?

That's... inconceivable. Big Grin I LOVE the murderous idea. Let's do it!

I love that idea too! Let's be ambitious and do both. Sleepy

Name: Daryl Dixon

Age: 28 32

Gender: Male

Looks: (you know them) I am okay with any kind of photo weather game style or anime to realistic

Orientation: Bisexual

History: Before the outbreak Daryl lived with his brother and abusive father. His mother died of unknown causes though Daryl believes it was his father's abuse. The boys uncle would check on them, but never did anything to help. He grew up thinking all people were shit bags and not worth it often taking off to the woods. His brother also was a white supremacist and that wore on him some. When the out brake started the families remote home was not affected for several months until an infected uncle came and bit their father. Without hesitating his brother Maryl shot their father and the brothers fled. At some point they joined the Atlanta survivors and Daryl was known for his tracking and hunting while Maryl was just an ass hole. Daryl stayed with the group even after his brother was thought dead gaining their trust and seeming to gain a second place next to Rick after Shane died. That was until the fights with the Govoner that resulted in his brother dying by his own hand. Daryl left about a month ago and winter setting in he still is not ready to go back.

Personality: A sarcastic pain in the butt he often can rub someone the wrong way, but he hates to show his true feelings. This often results in sudden burst of violence or him just storming off. When someone gets past all the walls Daryl in fact is kind and cares for others.

Skills: Hand to hand combat, tracking, hunting with a crossbow and knife fighting

Pros: Not one to lie even if he hates you, always will find food or water, knows how to deal with large groups of walkers and a loyal friend once he is a friend

Cons: Brash, hot headed, aggressive and over all ass hole.

Other: This is a place to put a song or any thing else that fits your person.

Name: Robert Hawkeye Hirsch

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Looks: He is 6'1" and has dirty blond hair and blue eyes. He has a hawk tattooed on his left shoulder blade, a remembrance of a summer spent at an Oklahoma reservation visiting his grandparents.

sons-of-anarchy-141209.jpg

Orientation: Bisexual

History: Robert was born in New York, a regular city boy with a silver spoon. He spent the first fourteen years of his life living in privilege until his father decided one day that he no longer wanted to be married or a father, and left the family with nothing. At fifteen, Rob was sent to live with his mother's parents in Oklahoma. The reservation was interesting for about two days, and then the squalor and depression became too much for him and he ran away to find his dad.

Unfortunately, he did find the man. Living with another woman and her kids, in a nice, big house with a pool, a dog and a cat. When his father saw him there in the yard he chased him off, pretending not to know him and even calling the cops in to keep the 'trespasser' out of his new home. That's when Robert, who was once a 4.0 student, took to the streets. He lived like that, scrounging for a living and doing whatever he could to survive and keep an eye on his father, until he was jumped and nearly beat to death by a group of high school boys who thought it would be cool to kill some bum on the street.

Afterwards Rob enlisted in the Army just to get a way out of the life he had fallen into. He found a place he belonged and served until the outbreak hit. Even then he tried to stay with his unit, but soon it became apparent that all hell had broken loose, and once his last companion from the unit died Robert took off on his own, using his training both on the streets and in uniform to survive in the insanity that was their new reality.

Personality:
He is deathly calm, usually, but that leads to bursts of cruel, cold anger that doesn't end easily. He's been betrayed by so many people in his life; his father who abandoned them, his mother who sent him away, the military unit who fell apart as soon as shit got real, and in a way he feels as if even God has let him down. He's a loner, preferring to be on his own rather than to be with those who will crumple when the going gets tough.

Still, he's not one to kill unless he has a reason to and he believes in helping out if he can, though he's also very wary of strangers. He's never been very close to anyone, preferring to keep himself protected by distancing himself from others.

Skills:
Street survival, basic Army taught skills (mechanics, weaponry, basic survival, reconnaissance).

Pros: He wants to have someone in the world he can trust, even if he doesn't believe people are worthy of it. He would rather shoot someone honestly, face-to-face, than in the back, but when he knows that there is true life-threatening danger he doesn't worry so much about honor as survival.

Cons:
He burns cold and calm. He'd rather walk away from someone than have them abandon him, and he sometimes doesn't know when to keep his smart-assed mouth shut.

Other: His theme song - https://youtu.be/ykdVnu8f054

His lover: Michael Boone: "I was in the army with this guy, Boone. He was from Tennessee, I'm from New York. We had nothing in common. He taught me about trapping and hunting and I taught him about subways and living on the streets."

And other things, private things that people do when they're lonely, he thought to himself. He smiled at the memory of Boone. He was a man of a man, strong and quiet, tall but not very muscular. Still... he was quick. He was smart. Robert missed his company and his touch.

Name: Marcus (General San'Amoralis, Ulrich Marcolian )

Appearance: He is a taller man, nearly 6' and formidable in his armor and especially when perched upon a charger. His deep set, steel blue eyes are penetrating, and his strong jaw and wide shoulders cut a distinguished form whether he is in armor or court clothing, or even as he sweats in the simple tunic of a farm hand. He has wavy brown hair tinged in gold and tans easily.

09c0449872d6d316291da77c51aaede2.jpg

Backstory: General San'Amoralis of Sloaviana made a name for himself during the long war. Nearly eight years of brutality and cold callousness moved his troops across the lands, razing fields and causing those who could to flee lest they fall beneath the wheels of the opposition. He served his king well, and even the name San'Amoralis came to mean 'without morality'. It was a name used by mothers to frighten their children into fearful obedience, lest 'the General' come snatch them out of their beds in the night.

That was, until he came upon a prisoner of war who intrigued him. The man stood out from the others in both his bold fearlessness and his conviction that he was on the side of righteousness. The warrior who was captured withstood torture and torment, never revealing his secrets, even under the worst of conditions. Eventually he drew the general's attention, and slowly they began a conversation over the next year that would change the general's heart and lead him to abandon his course for a higher calling.

The general took the man with him, vowing to return him to this family, but when the former prisoner, now friend, died protecting his prior enemy, General San'Amoralis continued on his own. He promised to return the man's last letter to his family and to make right what he had done, eventually...if his own men didn't capture him and kill him for treason, and his enemies didn't capture him and kill him for the things he did during the war. Whether or not he succeeds, the war ended because of the actions of a prisoner and the man who once imprisoned him.

His father, King Duncan San'Amoralis
His brother, Prince Aldrick Edward San'Amoralis

POSTING SCHEDULE: Once every week or two because life happens.

The one I found most alluring was 'The Truth About War.' I think my character's desire to run into the chaos is what makes it so appealing to me. There is one little thing that I want to switch though. I would adore being the camerawoman. Not only does the position appeal to me more, but I feel like if I was the journalist/reporter and the camera person wanted to leave, I wouldn't have much of a choice but to leave. Certainly I could write about the experience, but the point of dragging myself and the camera person across the world is the film it.

If I was the film person though and I wanted to stay to film more, it would be harder for everyone to drag me along. They can easily do a voice over to complete the footage, but wouldn't have the story without the film. Hopefully that makes sense.

I'm great with doing the "Truth About War" story with YC as the camerawoman/journalist. She wants to get the story out, no matter the cost, and her crew is forced to come with her. The soldier's group could be sent out to escort them to certain areas that are are not behind enemy lines. Unfortunately the lines move quickly, and then they are behind enemy lines.

I'm good with a MxF story. The idea of writing against a strong-headed woman who is used to getting her way is really appealing to me. We can always try a few posts once we work out a few details to see if we are having fun.

Originally, I did like this idea a ton, but I was also really worried about this idea. I thought that it was really limiting because I kept thinking about the end; once they were out it was over. Yet as I looked at several other people's request threads, I kept thinking about it. Kept coming back to it. So I came back to your thread and reread it, thought about it, and repeat. I realized that the end was all I was thinking about. I wasn't really thinking about the in between! As a writer, the end is really important and should be down pat before you begin. I was letting that limit me as a roleplayer though, which is awful.

Okay so backstory rambling out of the way. Regarding the story and my character, she's looking to climb the ladder. She wants to get the recognition she thinks she deserves and by throwing herself into the fire, she's hoping to accomplish that. She will do anything to get that one amazing shot that will change history or become the iconic moment of the era the way that Eddie Adam's vietnam photo 'Nguyễn Ngọc Loan executing Nguyễn Văn Lém' and Nick Ut's photo 'The Terror of War' changed public opinion of the Vietnam war. Perhaps something a little more upbeat would be McCurry’s 'Afghan Girl' photo that has been on the cover of national geographic three times. She wants to capture the modern day film version of the Mona Lisa!

So, that being said obviously they go there to try and cover the story before it becomes too much for reporters to go in to and then they get caught in the middle. Perhaps they are somewhere remote. They have one chance to get out before the military retreats to somewhere safer so the possibility of them getting stranded would cause the tension. That might cause TOO much though. I'm sure if I was a reporter and my camera person was dicking around when there was only one chance to get out, I'd leave his sorry ass. (of course I wouldn't have been there in the first place but that's the fun thing about writing!)

So thinking about if they are somewhere where the military has had a hold on the territory for some time. That way the group has somewhere to fall back to and my character getting 'just one more shot' wouldn't be as big of a deal. Due to the constant attacks though, no one can leave. So even though the reporters really should be shipped out, the military can't do anything for the moment because the constant threat. That would pose a much more interesting...it would also give MC more of a chance to get that shot she's looking for. They would be under constant threat so that would add to the suspense of the situation. Maybe before they get back to a safe zone they would have to bunker down in a building? It would give MC a chance to try and get some shots; maybe sneak off to find something more valuable and have to get dragged back.

OH! If my character doesn't understand the gravity of the situation either, she'd be much more likely to run the extra risk of trying to get the shot. Maybe the reporter dying somewhere along the line makes her realized she needs to stop thinking about the job and more about her life. She wouldn't stop filming of course but she'd stop walking out on a weak limb so to speak. Of course if you don't mind minor characters dying that is. If you prefer the reporter stay alive something else would have to really slap her awake. Perhaps almost getting kidnapped? Maybe getting shot, although I was thinking that was going to happen regardless. They would be in a war zone after all so a hole through the leg or arm is to be expected. Seeing something horrific wouldn't be enough to make her wake. I'm thinking maybe she's been to different places to film the aftermath of war so she's become desensitized to it, aiding in the naiveness that she won't be hurt.

If we go with that theme, maybe at some point the military would try to make a break for it. The tension and constant attack too much for them. They could manage to get out and then be on the run or they could get stuck in the bunkers. Honestly thinking about it for some time there are a million ways this could go. Thoughts? Additional original ideas or ideas that my ideas sparked?

I am officially thrilled, because you are one of the few people who even consider the target end we should be aiming the story towards.

Okay, so I don't mind minor characters dying at all. I don't mind death, as long as it's not something we are getting off on. That being said, what if the other reporter's death helps her to see the gravity of the situation, and during that time there is some romance or friendship or something deeper blooming between the between the soldier and the photographer? I'm thinking of the photo or the film clip that's going to get her the recognition she is looking for, and I'm thinking that in the end it's something to do with the soldier, the people who are native to the land, and him dying.

Is that too Nicolas Sparks? She gets her goal; in the end she's at a huge fancy party (the equivalent of Emmys for photography or journalism) and she wins for her work on the battlefield, but it leaves her with a sort of empty victory.

Of course! I mean, there is just too much content here NOT to think about it more from a literary stance. Smut is just sort of straight forward but plot has so many more angles that need considering, including the end.

Dying does not give me any weird sort of satisfaction. With this theme I figured there was going to be death, I just wanted to know how close to home you were willing to go. Obviously, you are willing to go all the way which is awesome. Again, no satisfaction gained in any weird sort of way. It's just realistic with a message behind it. I appreciate that. The death of a character really makes it more memorable, especially if they were loved. Of Mice and Men? LOVED that book. It wrecked me, but it was amazing. Same thing with The Awakening by Kate Chopin if you've ever had the chance to read it. It was one of the few books in high school I had no issues reading.

Anywho, backtracking to the story, YES. Love the idea that even though she reaches her intended goal, she realizes in the process she has gained and lost something much greater than it. It definitely has that Nicolas Sparks theme to it, but I'm going to be honest, only once before have I roleplayed something with an ending. It wasn't a very good ending either due to the fact it was just a smut roleplay. So I don't mind that it has that feeling. I am extremely excited that it doesn't have the happily ever after feel to it either. It's drenched in emotion and a much more realistic ending without everyone dying.

Let's make up our own modern day setting; an Eastern European pseudo-country named Iskaton. The basis of the war is that a small section of the country, say, Eastern Iskaton, wants to break off and be their own country. Unfortunately they are the agricultural section of the country. The west has the harbors and can do the most trade with other countries, but the east is tired of losing all their profit to the west.

At first it seems like it's just going to be a bit of unrest over an election, and maybe that's what the reporter is there to cover. The country has been under war-like conditions from pressure all around it as well, sometimes getting caught up in other wars that are raging around it from time to time.

We can start with her getting off the helicopter. Maybe she came into an airport from Germany to Iskaton and then they took her on a US helicopter to the drop site.

Everything you mentioned previously sounds like a solid plan. That way it starts off like a normal report. It'll give my character a good chance to get really excited about the turn of events which will be fun to write about! If you have a chance this week to get something started then feel free! Otherwise I'll get it started next Tuesday.

Basics: He is a native of the country and has been discharged from the army for several years, but when things began to get more tense he was recalled to duty. He sees the country's attempt to split as both a political maneuver and a cry for justice in a nation that has long been held under an oppressive oligarchy that holds people down by forcing them to accept complete domination by their government.

He doesn't understand why a woman photographer would want to be in the middle of a war, and he is bitter and hard, but eventually he sees the value in getting the truth out to the world in hopes that the world will help those who are trying to get out from under the tyrannical rule of their nation.

Civil attorney, works for the county, does defense. Uses his work cell for everything. His boss is Robert Rhodes, fifty+, dark, weasel man with black rimmed glasses and large nose.

...married and who is discontented at home. He's not necessarily unhappy, but he feels like they've grown distant. He wants to get some of the magic back. His wife has mentioned a few times that he's put on weight, a lot of weight, so... he'd trying to prove to her that he can 'do it' and get back into being healthy. Not necessarily an Adonis, but someone who at least she isn't ashamed to have at office parties. He's a civil attorney, she's a real estate agent. I think that he wants kids but she doesn't yet, and that is also adding to the friction at home.

His wife's name is Candice (Candy) and she is a real estate agent. Her friends include Mary (sells Sexy Secrets an has a southern drawl) who bought the Washburn house. Sharon Whitbey's husband, Bret, works there. Makes 180k a year. Buying a house from Candice.

He turned down a job offer from Simon & Lawrence.

Her Character:
Age: late twenties to early thirties
"She's in an early stage of marriage -- a few years; not more than five -- and things are starting to become 'normal'. A variety of issues at home have started creating a wedge between she and her husband, but they're both still in denial about it. When either side tries to initiate a discussion, it usually de-evolves into an argument or at least something passive aggressive and similar to one. Nothing is changing, and rather than instigating something more serious, she has opted to get a gym membership and start feeling good about herself again. There are plenty of rifts between she and her husband, but one of the biggest might very well match his: She wants kids, he doesn't.

I think she has probably lost touch with a lot of the things that make her 'her' over the years, so making a new friend outside the normal routine will be a nice segue to rediscovering that side of herself. She's currently employed as an analyst for a moderately sized company's marketing department, so she has an eye for numbers and an intellect that is often understated or overlooked thanks to her attractive appearance. Over her three or four years in that position, a lot of her old sense of humor have kind of dwindled. They're still there.

In a social setting, I think she'll be someone who's a little less outgoing. Given that he's an attorney, I can't help thinking he might be the more outspoken of the pair, but what she lacks in boldness she'll make up for with sharp wit, a wicked sense of inappropriate humor, and a willingness to experiment or act on impulse that seems to grow exponentially as they get closer. It sounds as though both of them will kind of feed on the other as they find that things they thought were gone forever are suddenly possible again."

She drives a dark grey outback.

It's this older brother's son who will be our protagonist, and who the uncle wishes to black mail to take his fortune and in that way finally 'beat' his long-deceased brother.

Someone who knows my protagonist saw her. He wants to put her into a job in the protagonist's office, wants to teach her exactly how to peak his interest, and then wants her to help them blackmail him once they have enough footage. But they also want the protagonist to think that the arrangement is something that he has instigated.

So she was raised in a strict, upper-class household, expected to get top grades, be a debutante… At 17 she became pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby, the boyfriend her parents said would ruin her life… And he did. They lived together in an apartment for a few years, he was in and out until finally he was just out. Not an abuser, just a loser. She struggles to make ends meet, eventually coming to the point where rent is overdue, food is running low, and she’s already skipping meals so that her child can eat, instead. Finally she decides that dancing is her only option, but they turn her down too, after she humiliates herself for them. She’s walking home, trying to figure out how they’re going to make it through the next week, when a car pulls up beside her (gasp!) offering her crazy money to come inside…

Marcus (Ulrich Marcolian San'Amoralis)[/b]]
~The Lion of Sloaviania~

He is a taller man, nearly 6' and formidable in his armor and especially when perched upon a charger. His deep set, steel blue eyes are penetrating, and his strong jaw and wide shoulders cut a distinguished form whether he is in armor or court clothing. He has wavy brown hair tinged in gold and tans easily.

Previous Backstory[/u]]
Marcus San'Amoralis of Sloaviana made a name for himself during the long war.
