~~January 14th, 9P.M.The Watchtower Hidden Orbital Base.~~~

The influx of new teenaged hero's had worried the league. The idea that a bunch of children had been gifted with such powers, the very thought seemed to have gathered every member of the league around their table in the watch tower. Around them Holograms of each of the children hung in the air.

"So it's decided then?" Batman said darkly Rubbing his chin, the rest of the league each gave their consent. "The league can't allow these children into our ranks, They need to earn their place as hero's, and earn our trust. They all are dysfunctional, brash, lacking in any real world experience and so It has then been decided that they will form a new team, and function under league rules and sanctions." The members of the league all stood on ceremony, as they rose from the table. The holograms vanishing "This meeting is adjourned."

~~~January 17 6A.M. Mount justice, Happy Harbor, Rhode Island.~~~
Nathan Hill Floated into Mount justice it was early morning with the sun not rising for maybe another hour. Even so the mountain came alive as he wondered in, a machanical voice informing him that he was "Recognized Green Lantern 2814-D", He rolled his eyes he had enough of that designation on Oa, when he actually had to deal with the 2 other earth born lanterns. It was sad that Guy Gardener had to be replaced so soon after he had gotten his ring, but frankly if he didn't even survive that long how good a lantern could he have been?
He was fine taking over the old designation even as he put down his hood and landed on the ground, the cave still coming to life. "Am I the first one here?" He had to have been, but at the same time he kept looking around the dusty halls of this place. It looked like it hadn't been used in years. Smelled like it too, thankfully the ring's automatic sheilding stopped dust from passing through to him because he swore he was gonna sneeze just by walking here.
"I was promised The Watchtower... this is not The Watchtower." try as they might the league couldn't exactly hide an orbital space station from a group that worked in space 50% of the time. Nathan felt like he was being pushed to the side lines, and really in truth that's what this team was for, it was the waiting room to get into the real team. "This is the correct place, so I may as well just wait till the rest of the team gets here."
He was interested in seeing who he would be working with, he had been promised a full roster, but they would all probably take their sweet time in getting here.
“Do you understand that your mother would have my head if she knew you were here!”
“I meant no harm princess but-“
“There are no buts! Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t put you back in that ship and take you back right now.”
“Because I cannot do it! I mean no disrespect towards our home and the wonderful place your mother has made it, but under no circumstances could I possibly spend another day there. There is nothing new, nothing exciting. I am the youngest person on our island by hundreds if not thousands of years to some of those women. I hear tales of war and conquest, of former love, of life outside the island from literally everyone. I alone have no tales to tell, I alone have never seen what life is like on the outside and it simply isn’t fair. I want more for myself then to sit and be the child listening to stories of her elders, I want my own stories! And while hiding aboard your vessel was not the honest thing to do, it was the only thing I could do as it was the only chance I was going to get to leave. So here I stand, begging you my princess, please allow me to stay! I will help however I can, I will stay out of your way, just please, pleasedon’t make me go back.”
When thinking of the argument she had with Diana just three days prior, Naevia couldn’t help but to cringe a bit. During her entire ‘ride’ to the world of man she had thought out scenario after scenario of how things would go once the princess found her. In not a single one of them did she beg or plead with her, she kept her cool and was level headed. Now if only that was the actual case. But everything was done now. She had pleaded her case and the princess was allowing her to stay on the condition that she joined and became a part of some team. Diana said it would probably be good for her to be around people her own age while she made the transition, along with a few other things. Like for example, she couldn’t use her gifts out in the open unless someone was in trouble, try not to insult anyone from the get go or do anything ‘strange’, and most importantly be herself. That aside the princess had spent the past three days getting her out and about so she wouldn’t have too big of a culture shock. She was introduced to the television, saw and rode in a car, had a hot dog though apparently it wasn’t a dog at all and no one knew what meat it really was made from, had been taken shopping for clothes, and most importantly she had actually seen and met real men. Or well, she had seen a lot of men while roaming around with Diana, the only ones she had met were the princesses friends by the name of Batman and Superman and that was most certainly…something. She had only seen men in books, never before had she actually been face to face with one! So she naturally had a lot of questions, but she knew then and there wasn't the time. There was that and the fact she wanted really reach out and touch one of them, but they didn't look like the open to random groping types.
After the introduction to the two other members of the team called the Justice League that Diana was apart of, she explained to Naevia that she would be staying at a place called Mount Justice. It was serve as her new teams base of operations as well as her home during her stay here. The two of them had flown there the day before to ensure Naevia knew where she was going in the instance that Diana couldn't escort her, and sure enough on the morning of the 17th the amazon got called to do a mission so Naevia was on her own, which was probably for the best.
"Recognized, Artemisia - B06."
Needless to say, Naevia was more then confused as the disembodied voice called out her 'alias' as she walked through the door just shortly after 6:30am. But she didn't respond to it like she wanted to, instead she just made her way inside of the dusty building, "Maybe I should have worn shoes...." she murmured as she felt the dust collect at her feet and collected on the wheels of the suitcase she was rolling in behind her. The young amazon was dressed in nothing but a white tank top, a black 'bra' (though the title torture device seemed more appropriate), and a pair of gym shorts that were just long enough to be considered finger tip length. Was it the most appropriate attire for the middle of January? No, but as she was impervious to temperature she had no idea her attire was grossly out of season.
As she walked through the halls she would raise the front of her tank top over her nose, trying to keep from sneezing the best she could. "A good cleaning is most definitely in order." She would glance the place up and down, noticing larger footprints on the floor. Because they weren't gray like everything else, she could only assume they were new. "Hello! Is anybody here?" It was only walking a few more feet forward and rounding a corner that she would come face to face with her answer. There was another young man here with her and well...yeah. She wasn't quite sure what to think about that, but the urge to touch did come back. So that's just what she did.
Without so much as hesitation she would reach out, fingers lightly stroking his cheek, moving down to his goatee, which for whatever reason she smiled at. She would go from there to his shoulder and trail down his arm until she reached his hand. Taking hold of his left wrist delicately, almost like one would handle an infant, she brought it up higher and took a hold of his hand. One hand would cradle it gently in her own with the back of his hand in her palm while the other was pressed lightly against it finger tip to finger tip. Much bigger, and definitely much heavier. It was obvious she didn't think her actions were the least bit odd as once she placed his hand back by his side she made her introduction plain as day, looking him in the eyes and greeting him with a smile. "I am Naevia of Themyscira, it is a pleasure to meet you."
Nathan was busy dusting and cleaning. The ring had made several large 'duster' constructs, as he was trying his best to get everything off of the higher ledges. The giant solid green light sources moved around the room bending to his will and cleaning, and he was starting to think that next he should try and make a bunch of walking mops. Get some Disney up in this place, if he could find the right music for it.
He wasn't entirely surprised that the league hadn't sent someone to clean this place already, it was an older abandoned base from what the other green lanterns Hal and Stewart had told him, but at the same time if this was going to be where he was living for a while it just made sense to try and keep the place tidy. He was however interrupted when another person was recognized, at around a half hour of work. By then the chamber he had been in had most of the stuff down. There was an awkward tension for a moment as the woman who barged into the room didn't say anything but rather just touched him. He supposed he could have raised a shield, or stop her from doing anything, but as it was she was just oddly touching his skin. Her hand trailing over his clothing as it left his face down to his arm and hand.
By the time she gave him back his hand and then introduced herself things were pretty much as weird as he could take them. "Themyscira? That a planet... your looking like you just met some kind of urban legend." it wasn't really a place he knew by heart or even a location he recognized from any geography lesson. However the name did register from somewhere. It sounded very greek, but at the same time he was partly recovering from basic, and having the entire history of the universe practically shoved into his brain, frankly even if it was a major continent it was possible that he had forgotten it. It was also a possibility that she was some kind of alien, and so she was looking at him in astonishment... maybe she knew what a green lantern was but had never actually seen one... He was kind of a big deal after all.
Shaking off the oddity of their first meeting he gave a slight smile back. "Nathan Hill, Of... Blood Haven... i guess?" Did he even still have a house? basic had taken a month, and he hadn't exactly been home since then, rather he had been out in the universe as large. He wasn't pinned down like the other lanterns this was his day and night job. Everything else he had was gone now. His family, and school had basically ended some time last year, and until he had gotten his ring he hadn't exactly had a point in life. Now that he had the ring however he had basically thrown himself into his new line of work, and while he was being mentored he was still a little nervous when it came to his new life. "Uh yeah... pleasure to meet you too." He said lightly not really sure what her deal was. Never even realizing that chances were good that he was the first male she had ever had the chance to interact with in her life.
"Recognized Merlin 13-0B"
The Zeta tube cracked to life in the next room and Markus Walked into the place whistling as everything was seemingly alive. This place seemed to have everything he could have hoped for in a secure underground bunker, located inside a hollowed out mountain. In fact it looked damn good for all things considered. He held his recurve bow slightly tentatively. Some would have called him paranoid, but he did just get the particles of his body zapped from an entirely different city, and part of him wondered if these things were even safe. Sure the league used them, but who knew if they still had all their toes. He sure as hell didn't.
Walking into what would best be described as a waiting room he couldn't help but notice this place was a practical museum of old league stuff, though some how it had been kept up to date, and yet never cleaned. He could hear voices from down the halls of the mountain, but as much as he was curious about them, he was also hesitant to meet new people. If they wanted to meet him then fine they could come out into the open lobby where he wouldn't mind meeting them, but as it was he would save that for later. Besides this place was practically a gym, and he was interested to walk around. finding a stage like area he stepped on it, seeing a target pop up with his name underneath him. "It's an arena..." He said almost hesitantly... so this would be what a training stage for them? That would be useful.
Had she been aware that what she did was not a typical greeting for anyone, she would have been thankful that he didn’t do anything to stop her. But seeing that she didn’t, she just proceeded on as if it was normal. She wasn’t surprised he didn’t know of Themyscira, no man or woman did unless they were from the island or had the special privilege of visiting. “Not a planet, but an island! Surely you have heard stories of the amazons, it is manless island that we hail from. So to me…you are something of an urban legend.”
Her hands would move behind her back as she walked in a circle around him slowly, not to say that she was examining him buuuut she was examining him. “I mean, we all knew men existed. All of the amazons had seen them before they came to the island or well, however they got there,” She hadn’t bothered getting the history of every amazon on the island, just most of them, “It was just me who had never seen one in real life, before now that is. I had read plenty of books and heard stories but it’s a little daunting. Sometimes men have horns, in others you’re normal, but you are most certainly depicted as monsters most of the time if it’s up to verbal storytelling. In most books you’re ok.” A lot of the amazons were very….negative when it came to their opinion of the male sex. No matter how hard she tried she could never share their sentiments. Maybe because she was a bit more recently born of man then most of them, or she just didn’t want to jump to conclusions before she actually met a man for herself.
“To be honest though, you do not look like a monster to me. Anything but.” She would turn her head as she heard the disembodied voice off in the distance, apparently someone else was here. And thinking about it, she should probably get going and get her own room together. “It was a pleasure talking with you Nathan Hill of Blood Haven, but I should let you get back to cleaning and find a room of my own. Until next time.” She gave a slight wave before grabbing her suitcase and making her way back into the hallway.
She wasn’t really sure where she wanted to sleep, as long as the room wasn’t next to someone who snored she would be fine. She would walk a little further, picking a room in the middle of the hall, opening the door and holding her nose as dust flew out from under the door. The room was rather large, but pretty bare other than the bed, a dresser, and the wall near the door that was covered entirely by a book shelf. As much cleaning as it needed and as foreign as it was she was sure she could grow to call it home.
"Recognized, Weiss- B06."
"Well this is certainly less than appealing..."Clarissa did everything but growl the words as she stepped foot into Mount Justice. Why the hell did they let this place get so dirty? Seriously! If the league knew people were coming they could have at least cleaned up a bit. But she shouldn't have cared so much, after all it wasn't like she was staying here, she couldn't (and she really wouldn't want to). Her parents knew nothing of her hero business and it would have just been weird if she stopped coming home. This was also assuming her parents noticed she was gone....
The brown haired girl didn't call out, didn't shout, she didn't want to disturb anyone if anyone else was here. Though they were supposed to be formally meeting by 8am so hopefully everyone would be on time. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to roam around in the mean time..." She would look down at her shoes, a little worried about getting them dirty but she knew she could clean them before she got home. Everything about the girl screamed upper class. From the $500 royal blue jacket that she wore to the $150 blue jeans and $300 boots, her face held not a single flaw nor was there a hair out of place on her head. And yet, she made it a point to fight bad guys in her spare time and get bruised and beat.
She would walk for a little bit, hands crossed tightly against her chest as she was still a little cold from coming in outside. She would peak her head around corners and in a few rooms, finding most of them empty until she came upon what appeared to be a training room. "Hello." She would walk far enough into the room to lean against the door frame, though quickly coming off of it upon realizing how dirty it was.
Nathan blinked hearing about the island of the amazons. He had never really heard about it anymore in depth than just passing. Sure Atlantis everyone knew about, there were people trying to drag the underwater cities into things like the UN, but no one really wanted the amazons to join the world stage. To actually meet one in real life he was slightly shocked at it, but then to be told that most men were regarded as 'horned monsters', Nathan's mind immediately went to a very juvenile place and he had to suppress his laughter, or pay the girl some kind of insult. Holding back the laughter he nodded slowly towards her as she went off to go and find her room.
"Well I'm glad I live up to your expectations." He said lightly just rolling with it. It wasn't that he was easy going or unphased rather he had just spent 4 weeks being trained by a talking squirrel, and a giant warthog beast.... After dealing with that an island full of feminine warriors who cut themselves off from the rest of the world was a very easy thing to swallow. Still there was bound to be conflict, an Amazon fresh out of the island in a room full of hormonal teenagers. He shook his head letting out a low giggle. "Horned monsters... go figure."
There was another awkward moment after she left and he was once again alone with his passing case of the laughter. Raising up his ring he let out a long sigh bringing back his constructs forming an army of living mops, buckets, and dusters and brooms, scrubbers and brushes, and they all got to work with a marching efficiency guided by Nathan's will the floor in the halls were starting to be scrubbed clean as he walked through the halls. His army moving with him as he went. After a few moments he looked around knowing he should for the most part be alone at that point. Turning to his constructs he adressed them like a boy talking to his action figures. "Go forth my minions, in garbage day or laundry night no dirt shall escape your sight, Let all that gathers dust in sight, beware our power cleaning supplies unite!" Letting out a low cackle of mad laughter. It was the little things no matter what in life, some times you just had to enjoy the little things.
~~~

Markus had a very keen eye when it came to people, and when he saw Clarissa jump when she realized that the wall was a little dirty he practically let out a laugh. Who the hell was this woman? He thought some what bitterly, everything she wore reeked of over expensive garbage, and a spoiled upbringing. Her hair had been so delicately pressed and trimmed she probably took 5 hours just to get ready to go to out at night, and she was supposed to be some kind of crime fighter? Hell she was supposed to be some kind of hero? That was an insult not just to him, but the line of assassin's that had followed for years before him.

Markus Gestured lightly towards who he was guessing was Weiss, motioning for her to join him in the arena as she called out a hello to him. "Hello." He said motioning a challenge towards her. If she was going to be his partner then she could prove it in the ring, though in truth he doubted that she would accept. Their meeting with the big leagues would be soon, but he would have beaten her by then no doubt about it, anyone who walked into this kind of arena wearing 300 dollar boots clearly needed a good boot to the head.

"What's your power? The ability to buy Prada?" Markus said with a slight snicker, he wasn't about to formally introduce himself, though if she stepped into the ring she could clearly see the name tag that marked him as Merlin. There was a lot about the idea of working with a spoiled rich girl that got on Markus's nerves. It drew attention to them for one, and for two how was he supposed to trust a silver spoon baby? She probably had no practical experience what so ever. Well okay if she had zero practical application she wouldn't be here, but this still felt like a really bad joke.

The insult wasn’t anything new, or all hurtful for that matter. Was she surprised he went for one so quickly? A little. Normally people at least let her get out a line after than hello, then the insults came. “Oh aren’t you just adorable? Lemme guess, you’ve got the power of horrible insults. Or is that over estimating your abilities?” Clarissa offered a smirk of her own, fingers gliding over her jacket as she walked towards the arena, slinging it over her shoulder once it was off. Did she really feel like fighting as soon as she got here? No, and that meant both physically and verbally. But to be fair he started it, not that she would mind finishing it.

“You don't mind if I hang my coat do you?” As soon as she asked the question the air around her grew to be frigidly cold, a spear of ice shooting up from the ground beside her. She would look over to him, staring him in the eye while dusting off the arm of her jacket, hanging it up on the spear. If that didn’t answer his ‘what was her powers’ question, she wasn’t really sure what would. She was a little more proper then she would like to be, if she was being honest with herself, and yes, she did look a little towell groomed for the job but she liked what she did and she was good at it. She wouldn’t have been here if she wasn’t after all.

She would step up into the ring, hands by her side. “I would say it’s a pleasure to meet you Merlin but I think you and I would both know that would be a pretty big lie. You’re a bit of an eyesore if I must be honest, but something tells me looking at me doesn’t fill you with joy either.” As she spoke the air around her would grow colder, ice forming at her feet. Was it probably the best idea to fight before they met their mentors? Probably not. Actually, if either of them ended up hurt or a tad bit bruised she could see how that would either upset or disappoint the people they were trying to impress today. Oh well.

Naevia peaked around the room a bit more. She found two extra large fuzzy blankets, some clothes hangers, and a large mirror in the back of the closet that she assumed was supposed to go with the dresser and act as a vanity. "Well this is pretty...and those blankets are going to be useful..." She would take the mirror to the vanity with one hand, holding onto the blankets in the other, for those she had a very specific idea. After the mirror was placed she would set her suitcase outside of the room and one of the blankets in the middle of the floor. She would levitate up off the floor a few inches as the blanket would begin to have sparks jump across it lightly, the dust near it sticking to it like glue. She would static charge the other one in her hand, running it along the the book shelf and the dresser, watching as it went from a dingy black to a full out gray as the dust clung to it.

"This really is disgusting." By the time she was finished her room was completely dustless, but the blankets looked like they were fuzzy and thick, which was...shocking. Just how long had it been since this place was last used? Come to think about it, she really didn't know anything about what she was getting into other then the fact she was now going to be helping people with a bunch of strangers. Part of her felt like she should have gotten more details on what they would be doing exactly, but the other part of her didn't really care, she was just happy to be away from home.

She would grab the other blanket from off the floor, holding both of them in between her fingers and as far away from her body as possible. As much as she wanted to wash these something told her it would be a bad idea to put them in the...what was it Diana called them...a washing machine? Yes, that was it! She didn't want to put them in the washing machine with just how much dirt they were covered with, she'd really prefer a place to discharge the static off first. She would float her way out of her room with her back facing the floor, legs crossed and one arm behind her head while the other continued to hold the blankets as far from her as possible as she floated in front of Nathan's door. "Nathan Hill of Blood Haven," Eventually she would come to understand she didn't need to say his full name or any extensions, but right now was not that time,"I am sorry to disturb you again, but do you know of a way for me to get outside without awakening the disembodied voice? I feel like that would be unnecessary to disturb it."

Merlin looked down at her name tag, Wiess, well that was interesting, but to find out that her power was cold manipulation was a little shocking. Merlin surpressed a slight shiver as he walked lightly on his feet, finding that it was all kind of cold. In truth he didn't really think that she was an eyesore, just that her clothing was overly expensive and gaudy. If it weren't for the fact that she looked like she put more emphasis on her personal appearance then anything else then he wouldn't have really cared even if that was the case.

As it was however she had already stepped into the ring, and consigned him to being some kind of asshole, and maybe he was for the harsh judgement of her character, but there was no real way to talk himself down from this fight now. Either way though she had earned a small amount of his respect just in the way that she immediately called him out on it. Even going so far as to call him an eyesore. He smirked at the insult, but considering who it came from he had to count it as a bit of a complement.

He had no doubt that she would have looked better with a layer of dirt on her, but then again a girl like her probably couldn't even stand to get dirty. It was a bit of a shame really, having someone with manicured nails on his team would undoubtfully weaken their effiecency in some capacity, but then a voice of common sense was talking in the back of his head, to try and talk his way out of a fight before the big meeting, and finally it won out. Letting his gaurd drop he sighed. "Nope can't do it, the big wigs are gonna be here soon, and if they see two people fighting without a reff they would kick me out... I kind of need this place to live at the moment. So do you think we could wait to hash this one out? I promise first training match will be you and me. I can ruffle your feathers after we make a good impression." He said trying to make some kind of arrangement to have the best of both worlds.

~~~
Nathan shook his head after all had been said and done he had cleaned about half the base using his rings power. If he were better at this he probably would have cleaned more. He had the kitchen and living rooms back in good condition, and even had his own room looking clean. at this point he had figgured that anyone in the other rooms who would actually be staying in the mountain could clean their place just as he and Naevia had done, the only places he hadn't cleaned was the briefing room, and the training hall. Nathan however was starting to feel tired. And so he let himself touch the ground his body feeling sore after chanelling so much effort into his army.
He was laid out on the ground when Naevia entered his room and spoke his tittle. He hadn't wanted to touch the bed, but at the same time needed to just lay down for a moment and let his body rest entirely this seemed like the best solution to the problem. Besides after all the scrubbing his constructs had done he could eat off of this floor if he had too. He laughed slightly when she spoke about disturbing the disembodied voice of a computer.
"Well first off, You can just call me Nathan or Nate when were off mission, and secondly the voice you here isn't a person. It's a part of the mountains security system. It keeps track of who is in the mansion and who isn't. So it will speak no matter what you enter or leave... it's..." He paused for a moment trying to explain how a computor worked to someone who had never really dealt with an automatic system before. "It's not alive so you can't really disturb it."
"If you're to afraid to fight that's all you had to say. I completely understand." She shrugged, smirking the ice dissipating as she turned her back to him, stepping out of the arena. She knew he wasn't afraid, but teasing him about it wouldn't hurt. She grabbed her coat off the spear, watching as it seemed to go from ice to snow, the tiny flakes falling on the ground where the base once was. "But that's fair enough I guess. I would hate for you to have to make a first impression with fresh bruises." She chuckled, slipping her jacket back on as she walked out of the room. "See you in a bit!"
It was a little unfair to say that the girl was afraid of dirt, she was just afraid of what would happen if she went home covered in dirt. The first time she did it when she was four she was punished severely, and every time there after. Some times the punishments were light, extra work, no radio time [they didn't want her to watch TV as they had been afraid it would poison her mind], or no reading. But every other time, and most of the time they were more....serious. She had some permanent bruises and a couple of scars on her back, shoulders, and one her left ankle. The ankle one was easy enough to make excuses for, but she had a tendency to keep her back and shoulders completely covered at all times. If not for the fact she could lower her body temperature, summer would have been one hell of a season for her.
She would walk into what she would assume was the briefing room. It was just a guess, but judging by the size, the large computer, and huge monitor it was either the briefing room or some computer gamers wet dream. It still hadn't entirely sunk in yet, the fact that she was about to be working under the Justice League. It had never been a goal of hers, or something she had even considered doing. When she started using her powers to help people at first it was simply an excuse to beat up on people and get out some of the anger that she could never get out at home. But over time she came to discover she genuinely liked the feeling of making a difference in someones life, if not possibly saving it. From catching purse snatchers to putting bank robbers behind ice bars it gave her a feeling of warmth. But now wasn't the time to be thinking about that. "I need to find a fucking broom." She murmured, turning on her heels and making her way out. Even though she had no intentions on staying here, she still wanted the place to be clean. That and if members of the league were meeting them in there it would have been embarrassing to have the place covered in filth.
"Nathan...ok, got it. But is there any reason in particular that you are laying down on the floor? Are you ok? Do you some water? Have you eaten this morning?" Though with how barren the rest of the building had been she had a serious doubt that there was any food here. Or if it was it was probably spoiled or rotten. But she did bring along some snacks in her suitcase that Diana had let her get when they were out and about shopping. “Hold on, I’ll be right back.” She would gently place the dusty blankets down in the hall way as not to send the dust flying around everywhere before flying back to her room and grabbing her suitcase.
Now, while the young amazon had grown up outside of modern civilization for the entirety of her life there were some things she shared in common with the average teenage girls. She occasionally got teary eyed when reading a romance novel (Diana did bring her back books every once in awhile, most of which the princess didn’t read), she wondered why one boob was slightly smaller than the other, and as she recently discovered, she loved chocolate. She had questioned a little girl about a candy bar while they were in the grocery store and she gave her a piece and in that moment she was pretty sure she knew what falling in love felt like. So her suitcase had a lot of clothes that Diana deemed appropriate for every day wear, some shoes, a case of water, and a hell of a lot of chocolate, mostly Snickers and Twix in both bar and mini form. She grabbed a snickers and a bottle of water, flying back into his room, hovering low to the ground beside him.
“Here you go. Hopefully this is will help a little bit.” She placed the items down beside him, rubbing his back in hopes to comfort him a little, though if she had known the problem she would have realized it was unnecessary. “Oh, and thank you for explaining the security system for me. Normally when I hear disembodied voices it's a god of some sort, or a goddess, who ever is feeling chatty that day." If not for the fact that she was talking to someone who owned a super powered ring that may have sounded crazy, hell, it still probably sounded crazy. "But I'm going to go beat out my sheets and find and clean the kitchen, I'm a little hungry myself...I hope you feel better."
"We had roommates."
"That couldn't know that we were there or they'd probably kill us."
"I guess that's true...."
Two new faces would make their way inside Mount Justice, a beaming smile on ones face and a rather puzzling look on the others. The giddy, and probably over excited, blue haired one was Erin and the slightly more serious cautious one was Erica. The two of them were wrapped up in scarves, gloves, black peacoats, and tan boots. A single baby blue backpack over Erica's shoulder, and a powder pink backpack slung over Erin shoulder. If not for the fact that the two of them had completely different hair colors it would have been completely impossible to tell the two apart. Unless Erin used her powers, then in that case it would have been impossible. But that was their, or well her, contribution to the team after all.
"So what do you think our teammates will be like?"
"Ummm.....Well thinking about past league members you know we're going to have some kind of power house, a lantern of some sort -"
"What do you mean of some sort?"
"Don't...worry about it. A shape shifter, which is you, some kind of magic user, a speedster, and a non powered, which is me."
"That's not what I meant! I meant personality wise."
"Oh like hell if I know." Erica shrugged, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket as they walked around, an eyebrow raised as her eyes scanned the room. "Well it's been awhile since this place has been used obviously..." They would walk until they reached the living room area, Erica throwing her backpack on the couch, plopping down and looking up at her sister. "First impressions?"
"We should probably make a decent one."
"So you're not going to be Superman for a bit and shock the shit out of everyone?"
"Nah. Good impression first, then we pull pranks."
"I guess."
Marlin didn't know the history behind this new girl, only that as she walked away from him he was really tempted to put an arrow into her spine. Of course he refraiend himself, all of the arrows he had nowadays wouldn't do the kind of damage that he so desperately wanted them too do anyway so it was kind of pointless to shoot her at all. That said she still drove him crazy, and not in the good way. He gave a small snort walking away from the training room, and into the newly cleaned kitchen. He raised an eyebrow guessing that someone else had spent their time cleaning it which only meant that there were other people around.
The base chimed out two new names, to join the added pile of life that was all around them, and for a moment Merlin considered going out to meet them. They couldn't be anywhere near as bad as the spoiled girl right? Shaking his head he tried not to focus on any of it rather just grabbing a glass and filling it with water. The leaguers would be here soon. He had never thought in his life that he would have ended up working with the league. It was a complete change from everything he had been raised to think, and do. Yet after running from a league with a very different name he had realized that it was this or death. He couldn't hide not from the assassin's, but he could fight.
Drinking down some of the water he leaned against the counter. He was a Merlin, a member of the league of assassins, why was working for the justice league any different then the assassins? well the answer was obvious enough... they weren't trying to kill him. Eventually hero or not he would die, and at least this way he had a better chance of doing something with his life... what ever that meant.
Nathan blinked and was about to explain that he was only on the floor because he didn't want to have to strip his bed just yet, or the fact that he wasn't really tired, but by the time he opened his mouth she was already gone, and when she returned she had already handed him the twix bar and rubbed his back. At that point he didn't speak up because he was getting his back rubbed and free candy, any way he looked at that it was a score.
Taking the candy he ate it slowly as he sat up. "Naevia you really don't have to worry about me so much. I was just a little tired from using the ring to clean.... well almost everything. It runs off will, and stamina so it can be painful some times." He said motioning to the source of his powers. "So you really don't have to worry about me I was just laying down on the ground because the bedding needs to be washed and dried before I can lay down on it."
He got up slowly having finished the candy bar. "Thank you for the candy though it really hit the spot, and also..." Nathan chewed over something for a moment not litterally but more in his mind as he thought about what to say to her. "You probably shouldn't say you talk to gods and goddesses. Here on the mainland people who say that tend to end up in Arkham Asylum."
"1...2... 3.."
There was a small but noticeable breeze around the entrance to mount justice, for several moments nothing happened before the computors voice called out "Recognized Catalyst 03B".
"six seconds new record!" Erikall but appeared between the two twins his arms suddenly wrapping around both their necks as he pulled them close for a group hug not really carring if they wanted it or not. He felt alive for the most part. Beating out JL speed sensors was something of a hobby of his, each time batman or someone would try to update it, and each time he would try and beat it, and up until now he had been able to get around 5 seconds before the computers caught him.
"Names Erik, are you two the full team? Not bad if I don't say so myself." He vanished in a green blur reappearing infront of them and shaking both their hands before vanishing again and doing a lap around the mountain finding out that there was actually quite a few members of their team, re appearing back in front of the twins, holding a chocolate bar he had stolen from one of the back packs. "Nevermind there are actually a lot of people in this team. Still you two seem fun. I'm Erik, but please my friends call me Erik."
“Oh….” Well it was safe to say that now she was just a little embarrassed. “Well you could have said something before. I mean…yeah.” She sighed, running her hands through her hair and shaking her head. Well, at least she knew he wouldn’t object to free candy and that was something right? Or was she just digging a bit to much? Maybe. “But I guess it is good to know that your ring makes you tired sometimes. The next time I see you laying down on the floor I’ll be sure to ask if you’re ok or just taking a second to get your energy back up.”
As far as the gods and goddesses thing went...eh. It wasn’t exactly something she shared with everyone, no one at home was even aware that she had frequent conversations with the gods and goddesses that actually favored her. Some just found her to be a good laugh due to her inexperience at well….everything compared to the other amazons, while others actually enjoyed her company. Either way they bestowed her with gifts often because she gave them a laugh or because she had become that person that they knew they could simply talk to and she wouldn’t tell a soul. “It’s not something I generally share with too many people. And even if I did I find that interesting. You’re people are constantly saved from aliens, demons, and madmen by aliens and superpowered heros and yet I would be the crazy for saying I talk to gods? Interesting.” Maybe some things were easier to believe then others? Yeah, she was going to go with that.
“But as I’m about to wash my sheets anyway…” She made her way over to his bed, stripping his sheets and throwing them over her shoulder. “I’ll wash yours to. Get everything done at one time.” And she figured it would be a nice way to say ‘sorry about being weird’ without actually having to say it. “Also, if I ever do anything strange or out the ordinary, tell me. Do not hesitate, just tell me. You can even be blunt about it. I have never been around people my own age before, I literally have no experience what so ever with men, or well, human men, and I just discovered chocolate in the past two days and I am still trying to figure out how I lived so long without it. So chances are I am going to ‘mess up’ or do some out of the ordinary things a lot until I learn what is acceptable in your culture and what isn’t.” And she knew it would take some time, all depending on how much she got out to interact with other people or saw other interactions taking place. “But do you know where the laundry room is by chance so I can go ahead and throw this stuff in?”
The two were most certainly surprised by the sudden hug, and as such reacted differently. Erin would return said hug while Erica would push away, more in the ‘what the fuck’ kind of mindset opposed to the ‘yeah let’s just hug’ mindset like her sister. Erica really didn’t like being forced into random acts of affection unless by her sister and occasionally small children and puppies, but that was the end of the list.
“I’m-“ Before Erin could finish the sentence he was gone. “Well I guess there goes that speedster you were talking about.”
“Yep. The computer said Catalyst. Like the name, not sure about the person juuuust yet.”
“Oh come on!” Before she could open up her moth to speak again he was back, and then gone again, and then back again and this time with candy. “If you didn’t bring enough for everyone then you shouldn’t have brought any of that you know.” She would reach over, snapping one of the Twix bars in half, biting off half of that and placing the other half on her sisters lips. She had to do a bit of pushing, but eventually the girl opened her mouth and accepted it, not before licking her sisters finger of course. “Ew!”
“Well you put your finger there.” Erica smirked, chucking a little at her sisters obvious disgust. “But I’m Erica and this is Erin. Nice to meet you.” And it was also nice to know that there were indeed other people here. “We just got here not to long ago so we can’t tell you to much about everyone else here.”
“We didn’t even know there were other people! But like she said, nice to meet you!”
“Where the hell is a broom around here?” As much as she wanted to clean finding the items she needed to actually clean was proving to be quite the difficult task. That and ice didn’t work well when it came to getting up dust, water helped, but she still needed something to wipe with. She was going to give it another five minute before she just said forget it and looked for something else to do. Or so she would have liked to believe, as much as she hated things being unorganized her urge to get the room clean would probably win out.
She would stop walking as she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, praying very quickly that it wasn’t her mother. Taking the device out of her pocket she would let out a sigh of relief as she saw the name ‘Jessica’ pop up, one of her friends from school. More like her only friend, but still.
‘Where the hell are you! We have a test in Mr.Matthew’s class in 20 minutes!’
Clarissa did temporarily forget that today was still a Friday and she still did have school. But she had forged notes just incase for today, as well as the next week as a backup, for her absence. She turned in homework early, took any tests she would have had today yesterday, and made her to properly pay off her teachers so none of them would call home to verify her absence. As long as everything went according to plan and she did what she was supposed to, everything should have worked out fine.
‘I’ve got some family stuff to do today, I already took the test. Make sure to read up on Martin Luther and The Ninety Five Theses, you’ll need to name at least fifteen for them. Every one after that is extra credit. You don’t have to know them word for word, but just enough for him to get the idea.’ She pressed send before shoving the phone back into her pocket.
The truth of it was, Clarissa wasn’t a bad person, she just had no social skills what so ever and she knew it, which made things considerably worse. It was normally after her bad interactions that she thought about what she had said and done, making her feel guilty. Like she knew she probably should have apologized to Merlin buuuut that wasn’t going to happen. Maybe later. Maybe.
She found herself walking into the kitchen, trying not to scowl when she saw Merlin. Well fuck. “Do you have any idea where a broom or duster is? I’m trying to get the briefing room clean before everyone gets here, or at least the members of The League…I figured they’ll hate standing around in dust just as much as us.”
