CURRENTLY CRAVING A STORY SET IN THE WORLD OF A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE! I'm especially looking to play a "what if" scenario, so for that reason I'm really craving a story where Rhaegar defeated Robert at the Trident and Lyanna survived from whatever she died from. (Huge believer in the R+L=J theory here). I'm also interested in playing Sansa Stark, especially against Aegon Targaryen VI or Willas Tyrell. Both of these situations would involve knowledge of the books so people who exclusively watch the show may struggle.

My general likes and dislikes can be found here: http://www.f-list.net/c/storyweaver/

Where do I roleplay?
I used to only stick to IM roleplays since until very recently I had always roleplayed via that format. However I am now happy to roleplay via email and PM (though I prefer email out of the two). I still won’t roleplay over forums (I like to keep the roleplay private).

Will the roleplay be based on sexual aspects?
I am certainly more interested in building an exciting and creative story rather than just exploring a roleplay based on sexual gratification. Smut will certainly come into it at some point but only to assist in progressing the story, not as a spontaneous dalliance that’s so spur of the moment, it’s like something from a porno.

How many characters do I play as?
I prefer to keep to the pattern of having two ‘main characters’, the male played by you and the female played by me. That being said, I am very eager to include a vast array of supporting characters who are developed and built-upon in the story.

What’s my post length?
It varies. I understand at times there is more going on in a scene, so it’s natural that there are longer posts. I tend to match the length of my partner’s posts and length preferences can be discussed once the story has been decided upon. One thing I do ask for is nothing less than a good, solid paragraph. I’ve been given petty two liners before and it hardly inspired me to write the next post.

Now, here are my ‘rules’, so to speak:

1. Spelling, punctuation and grammar.
I know that at times everyone makes mistakes in their writing and I certainly do. However it really bugs me when there are continuous mistakes all the way through.

2. Long absences.
I am well aware that we all have real life to deal with but please do let me know if you are going to be away for a prolonged period of time. I’d do the same for you and it’ll put my mind at ease (otherwise I’d think something has happened to you or you don’t want to continue with the story anymore).

3. Share ideas.
Sometimes ideas come to me when I am least expecting them. It’s always a great help if you share your thoughts and ideas on where we could progress next with the story. I don’t plan my roleplays rigidly so that everything that will happen is already drafted out and set in stone, but I do like to have a general sense of direction.

4. Be honest.
If you don’t want to continue with the story, just tell me. It’ll help a lot and will save beating around the bush. Also if there is something you really want to try in roleplay, just say! If I like the idea I’ll tell you and we’ll work out a place to fit it in. If I don’t like it, I’ll tell you and I’ll try to adapt to it.

5. Work as a team.
I’ve had partners who expect me to do all the work. While this is a rarity it was very frustrating and drained all the enjoyment out of the roleplays.

Plot ideas.
In general these are rather brief outlines of ideas I have in mind. They will most certainly be added to. If you wish to create an original story with me, please feel free to ask. The ideas below are just ones I have in mind but I am very happy to think of others, taking in some of the elements of the genres listed above.

1. The Queen’s favourites.

Setting: Ranging from an alternate universe Medieval Europe to 19th century. The setting is up to you.

The Queen inherited the title from her father, a man who had not been blessed with sons and instead had only a single daughter. She had first sat upon the throne at the age of twelve and the potential marriages over the years had all fallen through, most of them out of her own choice. She’s an ageing woman, reaching fifty and past fertile and marriageable age.

To distract her from the stress and turmoil of politics and war, she surrounds herself in a court made up of young nobles. Excitable, beautiful and witty, all reminders of her lost youth. She does not partake in sexual relations with any of them and purely keeps them as entertainment. Many of them do not mind and see the favours she bestows upon them reward enough to being at the Queen’s beck and call.

The young man had been at court since he killed his first man on the battlefield at the age of fourteen. The son of a lord, he is often showered with favours by the Queen and often jousts and fights for her honour.

The young woman is the illegitimate daughter of one of the Queen’s former ladies and a Bishop. Her birth was shrouded in scandal but the Queen finds her interesting and sees a sense of liberty and freedom in her, since it is unlikely she will ever find a suitable match due to her status as a bastard.

The Queen is happy to see her young lords and ladies interact with one another in front of her eyes. Dances and illusions of courtly romance are all just a farce in order to entertain the Queen. She does not take kindly to genuine love forming between her courtiers. They belong to her, she believes, not one another. When love blossoms between the shining heir and the free-spirited bastard, how will the two keep it a secret from the Queen whose eyes are ever-watching?

2. The Civil War.

Setting: Medieval fantasy.

The county has expanded over the past century, with lands added to the original kingdom as they were conquered by the King at the time. Those who submitted to him were granted mercy and permitted to keep their lands, though were expected to rule them as lords, rather than the small kingdoms they had previously been. Those who were defeated had new lords put in their places and those who did not die in the carnage were forced into a position of eternal servitude.

The relationship between the former kingdoms and the realm had been tranquil and cooperative, with no hints of any rebellions. The Kings that followed allowed them to keep their religion, rites of passages, and aspects of their previous ways of life, in order to thank them for surrendering and also to retain peace and loyalty.

However, as of late, the country has suffered many hardships. Plagues and famines have blighted all corners of the kingdom, taking rich and poor, old and young, alike as their victims. The majority, however, of those who suffered were from the traditional realm families, not from the areas that were formerly kingdoms. Rumour starts to spread, first from old stories, tales that were told to children at night. These rumours turn into suspected proof that the cause of the plagues were the result of intervention from the old kingdoms, a cold form of revenge for how they were treated a century before. Naturally, this causes conflict to arise. No one in the kingdom is safe.

As far as who we would both play in this, there really is a great deal of choice. A rebel? A royalist? It can certainly be discussed.

3. The Rose of No-Man’s Land.

Setting: 1917, France. 1919, London.

Wounded after the Battle of Passchendaele he found himself being nursed in the front line hospital by a gentle young nurse, with a kind smile that brought cheer to him while he was recovering. A friendship formed between the two and they devised a plan to travel the world once the war was over. They continued to exchange hopes through letters over the two years that followed, until she died from the Spanish Flu in 1919.

He was invited to the funeral, yet nobody really knows as he is. He is just a “friend from the war”. At the funeral he meets her younger sister, a feisty aspiring journalist, studying at Oxford University. She is liberal, excitable and willing to embrace all the 1920s has to offer. Will he be drawn to the flame and embrace everything the new decade has to offer? Or will he be haunted by his past, of the war, and the sister long gone?

4. Anything for a story

Setting: Modern day

It is said that journalists will do anything for a good story. Nomadic protest groups have been arising over the past decade. Those who wanted to escape the hectic race of modern life as well as the expectations that came with it joined. Vagabonds, petty criminals, and rich kids looking for an “experience”. People of different races, ages, cultures, it mattered not when joining the Free. The Free live out in the woods, abandoned houses, freight trains. The journalist has been told to follow this agenda; live with them, observe them, return to society, expose the Free and their ways, and sell the story of a lifetime. However, what happens when the journalist becomes too involved with the Free’s way of life? Will he/she become one of them? Will he/she be ready to turn away from society and live the life of the Free?

5. The American Empire

Setting: Near future AU

The British Empire once covered a large proportion of the map. Like all empires before it though, it fell, piece by piece, until it was nothing more than the small island which bore its name. A new empire was rising, new and revolutionary. The American Empire spread gradually, engulfing countries and continents alike. Soon enough only Asia was able to maintain itself against the mighty Empire. In Washington D.C., the capital of the entire Empire, the President changes his title to Emperor. His family are royalty, the only royalty left in the west. The Emperor’s son faces a dilemma. Should he be with his girlfriend, a studios young Englishwoman who would rather be kept out of the limelight, or choose a woman more suited to his position, the former Princess Cristina of Spain, who is used to living a very public life. Who will he choose? How will he prepare himself for the most powerful and dangerous job on earth?
