Lance Silverwing sighed as the ship had landed on this strange jungle world, it was like all that his opponent had claimed before the war, made to be like their own planet. Lance stepped from the silvery ship with a few small squads with him. Looking up barely any light shone through the trees but he knew that would be a little problem. The race they were facing had home field advantage, while yes Lance and his troops were some of the best troops in the galaxy it would be harder when they did not know the terrain. "Alright tread lightly men, and keep yourself on guard, we don't know what is waiting for us in these woods." The squads then broke up, Lance himself having only a few men following him.

Now they were not men as in humans, no they were Draconians, their planet actually being one that is in the human constilation of Draco. Their bodies were shifted, made to look almost like a cross between human and dragon. They had a dragon's back legs that they stood up on easily, hell it actually made them run further and jump higher than humans. The clawed fet dug into the ground and snapped twigs under it as the troops moved forward, their powerful arms and claws tearing away folliage as they progressed further and further into the jungle. Tails flicked behind them as their wings remained folded on their back. Reptillian heads moved back and forth to look at everything around them, making sure not to miss an enemy hiding in a bush.

Each man was equiped with an automatic lazer rifle as well as a sword, though lance himself carried a broadsword that seemed to be much older than that of his troops regulation, it had glowing markings on it and seemed to be made partially of steel and stone, in truth it was a metal sword with an obsidian blade, a momento of his family heritage, the runes was Dragonic, their language, it was their family name. His rifle was also diferent, seeming to also be a kepsake of his family but it was modded out to be better than the rifles around him. Each man wore armor pretty much everywhere. Covering their torso's, arms, legs, however on their hands and feet there was less, just on the outside parts, but the insides were uncovered. So the palms of their hands were exposed as well as the bottoms of ther feet. Their heads were not covered at all with a helmet but with some tech things, like a few had goggles on and other things to help detect heat signatures and such. lance wore nothing letting his silver skinned head show as well as his blue eyes. He was a rare breed of his kind, almost one of a kind now with his silver scales and blue eyes, though his left eye had a nice scar over it.

The troop continued to walk through, Lance knew the enemy was close, watching them... he would have to remain alert if he wished to catch them.

Liona stood amongst the treetops allowing her ears to guide her to their opponent. Within the canopy her sight was useless, but during this time of war the prey of the jungle had grown unusually silent, allowing her to stalk their priority: their opponents. Her head bowed and her ears pricked at every crack and slash to her beautiful jungle. She shuddered at the pain of the jungle that rang through her bones. They were much to disrespectful to leave unconfined, and as the matriarch of the Eastern Pride it was her duty to guide them toward battle against these untamed beasts.

Her underlings and comrades waiting below along the tangles of branches and enormous jungle leaves, awaiting her vibrant call to signal them to war. Many traps had been pre-set for their normal hunts, but modified for the armor of dragons. Bone spikes covered the logs that would drop from above after the breakage of trip wires. Razor wire vines would raise from beneath the disguise of dead leaves and the remains of successful hunts. Death pits were scattered about with no patterned placing.

The only advantageous location to fight was amongst the tangle of branches above, though they were heavily trapped as well for all of their aerial prey. Poisonous darts were rigged at false branches. Some parasitic plants were planted specifically against trees for the noxious gas that they spewed when threatened. For anyone unaccustomed to its fumes would not fall into a heavy slumber, but instead into an eternal sleep.

The nimble bodies of the huntresses were adapted to these constantly dangerous conditions, but close combat was a worry alone. The food they hunted day to day never resisted with steely scales and laser weapons. Liona inhaled and prayed to the Mighty Huntress. Was this enough? Her claws dug deeper into the branch she perched upon. Her powerful tail swung furiously at nearby branches, breaking most in half and splintering others. Even her supple breasts swelled with the anticipation of the coming battle.

All she needed was the first trap entering their hunting grounds to snap and the battle would begin with her might roar to the heavens that decided their fate.

Lance stopped as he even held up his hand, giving the command for the small squad behind him to stop. lance knew when he was being lead on and he hated that feeling. he placed a clawed hand gently on a nearby tree and he then looked around. The traps were very well hid so it would be impossable for him to see any of the traps but he knew something was there. The war had been going on for a while now, he knew that his opponents had no honor, they did not face their foes head on.

Having his rifle at the ready he began to look up and around. Of course he did not see them either, they were hidden among the leaves and Lance sighed 'They are here... I can feel it... I just..." he growled as he hit one of the trees hard with his fist, the tree itself indenting making a nice impression of his fist into the tree. He stood there trying to look around, trying to find the hidden foe.

Feathered prey sprang from the tops of the canopy and cried in fear of the murderous intent echoing throughout the jungle. The Draconians were becoming restless. They would not travel without bait-- not without a sacrifice. Not a single Felina present was expendable considering the durability of their opponent. Any extra claw or hiss was what they needed in this teetering war. She needed one of their smallest scouters too instigate unrest amongst their winged rivals.

Unfortunately, they were short on small scouters just waiting to be summoned for a suicide mission. Liona was the only backup plan. She knew the traps and angles like the back of her claws and could trust no other to be successful. It was up to her to confront the foe and bring them back to battleground. Her life meant nothing if they were to surrender because of one simple flaw in plans.

She slipped through the branches that grew tighter as they reached close to the jungle floor. Her night vision kicked in immediately and she used it easily to guide her through the poor lighting that had blessed through many hunts. As she rushed through the leaves she snatched unactivated poison darts from their traps and prepared them for usage. Her sisters watched, confusion reading on each of their expressions. They held still as they waited for her signal, nonetheless.

At this point she knew that reading her by heat was pointless as the jungle itself was reaching an all new boiling high, as though trying to meet the intensity of battle with its own heat. She made sure to break small twigs and other such, cause as much of a racket as she moved, hoping that it alone would drawn them towards the traps without her once encountering them.

Some of the dragons moved around when they heard the noises. Lance however stood perfectly still as he just turned his rifle back and forth to where the noises where and he growled a bit. They could not use thermal because of the heat of the jungle itself... and night vision would only slightly help them. Growling he just kept swinging himself around, trying to catch the cause of the disturbances as the men around him kept wondering around. however it was not long until one got caught into a trap, one with lots of poision thorns that drilled right into the dragons scaled feet. The man soon fell over from the poison and Lance saw this, as did his men, they were getting riled up and Lance still kept his ground "Where the fuck are you... you bitch" he said aloud as he looked around the trees, trying to spot the foe... there had to be one... they never left the traps alone, they at least had one to report to the others when they were tripped...
