World War 3....Nobody was sure who had fired the first shots...and it wasen't like the world was in a good enough state people could still connect and try to figure out what the fuck had happened.

The only thing that was widley known was the worlds Supply of Nuclear Armaments were used in a worldwide holocst, killing a good 80 to 95% of the worlds population. Only the lucky survived...if one could call them lucky.

These days, it was commonly known as 'The One Hour War'...and it haed changed the world forever. THe Internet still worked...somewhat..if one could find an access point and enough power to run a computer....and we're lucky. Small shanty towns and cities sprung up once and a while, but only a few survived the raiders and thugs that inhabiated the wasteland...raiders, thugs and...other things.

_____________

Onica Istre had been in the military only a year or so went the war had broke out. A young US Marine out to start a life of her own...now found herself alone for the most part. Not many asked how a Marine ended up on a Air Force base...but then again there was not many around to ask her. An those that did find her where not really in the questioning mood and often found their self on the wrong end of a gun.

The better part of a year spent trying to brake into what was left of the bases armry only to find 1 working rifle....the other most likely taken by the other troops to try and regain control of the population only to fail. A few things of ammo to last as long as she could make it. Finding a small PX in the middle of the houseing area of the base that had been over looked by raiders and taking it over for herself. Doing the best to keep it that way...but she knew it would not last forever. Even if she did all she could to make the small building unpleasing to the eyes.

To most it looked like an old rundown building. Like most everything else around here.

She spent her days sleeping for the most part, finding it safer and better to sleep during the heat of the day and spend the cooler nights awake. The girl was really with out a title for herself, not finding one was needed when you where alone....well not really alone. A mutt of a dog fast asleep near the only way in and out of the building, used as a old fashion alarm system if anyone came near.

Yet today Onica found herself restless. The sheevles of the store growing more empty by the day, and with the cooler months coming finding it easier to sit outside watching the base fall apart around her.

Xander's eyes were ride with fear and his feet were tapping against the ground rapidly as he ran for his life. He had been one of those lucky few to survive the catastrophic Third World War. The event certainly hadn't been marked on his calendar and he wasn't ready when it happened. That day had to be horrible for everyone, as well as himself. Xander had a job working as a limo driver. He enjoyed the sufficient wage he earned from the job. Twas a shame that his average life had taken a turn for the worse.

The dark haired, slim young man had now found himself on the run from a band of raiders who happened to encounter him moments earlier. Beads of sweat dropped from Xander's face as he took various turns in attempt to avoid the raiders. His attempts were effortless as he ended up with bullets whizzing by his head as a result. "Shit!" he yelled as he managed to get himself running down a narrow alleyway with nothing up ahead but a wall.

The wall had been fairly easy to climb over, and Xander had been motivated by the bullets aiming for him. The raiders were swearing at the top of their lungs as they continued firing the bullets, even though Xander had been long gone after he'd made it over the wall with a simple run and jump. He coughed as he fell to his knees. "That was too close..." he said to himself as he finally gathered the strength to get back on his feet. His eyes stung from the hot sun overhead as he walked for what seemed like hours. That was when he saw it. Even though most of it seemed totally demolished, he could tell that the structure that stood before him had been some form of Military Base. A sigh of relief took Xander's face as he figured he had been saved. He had always been a naive person.

Xander entered the base through what seemed like a hole cut through the fence. Once he'd made it inside, he couldn't hear a thing. It was safe to assume the base had been abandoned for the most part. It sure did suck when it seemed like you were the only sane person on Earth. "Hello?! Hello?!!!" Xander called out, his calls growing louder each time he opened his mouth. He eventually stopped, deeming the action hopeless as he continued to explore the various buildings around the base. "Damn!" he shouted, losing hope as he slammed his fist against the wall of a building he stopped to rest against.

Onica had heard the cries for help, or so it seemed it sounded like cries for help. Following them to the young man that was calling out. It was not like she was not all ready out and about when she heard him, trying her best to find things that could make her life a little bit easier. She stayed out of sight and out of mind, her hazel eyes kinda narrowing as he came close to the building she now called home. Not sure if he was there lore her out for his clan to attack or if he was really all alone. A rifle now pointed at him, her movements quite.

She did not want him to her here as she got him in her sight. And as soon as he laid hands on her home, he would hear the round being chambered. If he looked up the boy would see the young female, still in good shape for all that had happened. Her rifle pointed only a few feet at his head. Her aim true, unlike the ones that had shot at him before...she looked like she knew how to handle a gun.

Already the sun was going down, so he was not the only thing she had to worry about, "Hands above your head. Don't try to signal anyone because I'll shoot you between your damn eyes." Moving her head to the side slightly, telling him in her own way to move toward the door, "Get inside and don't make a sound."

((Sorry so short just got home and a little tired))

Xander's eyes widened as he found himself on the wrong end of the gun. He was always taught to never resist when there was no chance of escape. That was a plus if you valued your life. The action had been so sudden that Xander reacted to her order a couple of seconds off. As he raised his hands, she kept ordering him not to do other things. He started to bark back at her in an attempt to prove his innocence, but now wasn't the best time to be yelling at the girl with the gun. Xander only nodded obediently as he made his way towards the door. At least he hoped that's what she'd wanted him to do.

As he made his way towards it with his back to her, he felt he could get a couple of sentences out. "I swear. I'm alone. You wouldn't believe how many bullets I've dodged to even get this far." he spoke in a calm matter. He had feared that if he spoke too loud, she would shoot him in order to prevent her location from being compromised.

((sorry it to a little while. Worked late Friday and today I spent time with the family.))

As soon as they where both in side she would close the door. Rifle still pointed at the guy, Onica made her way to where she knew her gas lamp to be. Turning it on the young boy would see what was in the building and what she seemed to be guarding with her life. It had not been run down....in one corner of the small building was a pile of sleeping bags and blankets that made up what looked like a bed. The shelves that lined one wall seemed to have can goods and boxs of MREs. Most likely things she had gathered before things got to bad. Next to one window was a make shift fire place...made from pipe and an out door fire place and next to that was a propane stove. A few other boxes lined the other wall with random things inside most likely things that had become hard to find.

"Get down on your knees," She would say, slowly. Making sure he did what he was told before going up behind him and searching him. Looking for any weapons he might have had on him. Once she was done she would tie his hands...not really seeing when she had time to grab anything to do it with....

"Now who are you and what are you doing around here?"

It was dark as he had been rushed inside of the building by gunpoint. If it was one thing that Xander had not been exactly fond of, it had to be the dark. You couldn't see anything, and it anything could see you, you were screwed. Xander allowed himself to take deep breaths and relax. If he could have explained his case to stranger, there would have been a chance that she'd have understood his case. His eyes squinted as a form of light had illuminated the room to reveal what appeared to be a shelter. It seemed that the woman had been holding up in here since the disaster occurred.

As Xander opened his mouth to speak, the woman spoke faster. Her voice had been full of authority as she ordered him down on his knees. A sigh from Xander's lips as he did what he'd been asked, or more like told. Then she searched him. Xander couldn't help but have been a bit angry as well as embarrassed. Being violated by some crazy rifle wielding woman had not been the way that Xander wanted to go. The young man had been more than pleased when her 'search' had finally ended. She even gave him a chance to speak. Well Xander wasn't going to hesitate.

"My name's Xander." he answered to the first question, his gaze kept to the floor. Something about staring at her with the rifle in her hands scared him. "A-and does the second question really matter? I'm just trying to survive." Xander tried his best not to make any smart ass comments towards the woman. He figured if he were nice enough, she'd let him hold out for a couple of days, and he'd be able to get back on his trek. Although going out there where all the criminals lingered had not been Xander's idea of a good time.

She would listen, lowering her gun as she did. Making sure to put the rifle on safe with out him noticing it, so that if he tried anything he would not be able to shoot her. Walking around him some so she came back into view. "You can get up now." Now that she looked over him, the guy did not look like a real problem. Really, he kinda looked like he was about to piss himself when he first looked at the wrong in of her gun. Or at less that was the idea she had gotten.

"Xander," she started to stay, lighting another gas lamp to make the room a little brighter, "The second question dose matter. More then knowing you damn name that is. Reason being if your part of another clan and came here to well.....do anything I would make it so you could breath out the back of your head. But you don't look like a raider. A raider would not be scared pissless by a woman with a gun."
