Arturia couldn't afford to let her guilt distract her. She knew this was wrong and she hated every second of it. But who was she to defy the king, her father? Seeing her attack reflected back in her direction, she raised her arms in defense instinctively. She was a warrior first and a mage second. The spell hit her full on, sending her tumbling backward across the floor, only to come to a rest in a heap on the ground. The sleeves of her uniform were tattered by the spell, her arms bearing some burn damage from the impact. A ringing echoed in her head from where her head collided with the ground. A trickle of blood descending from her brow.

She forced herself up to her feet with a groan, wincing in pain as she did so. 'That was stupid. What the hell was I thinking?' She turned to face the sorceress, panting heavily as she raised her hands, poised to continue. She had no clue why she bothered. The sorceress was clearly more powerful than her. There was no way that she could possibly come out of an actual fight with this woman.
